Everyone was so hyped when they saw the first Dee Jay gameplay footage,but in the end most of these ppl went back to Ryu and Ken.You rarely see any Dee Jay players online currently which is kinda sad because he has potential,but Capcom made him very weak in SSF4.
I hope they kept his fierce fireball fast as shit like it was in ST. He will definitely be my main, I may try out gwilley too but after watching vids of DeeJay he is significantly stronger than gwilley. I hear they are doing some balance tweaks to the SF4 roster so we'll see what they come up with for gwilley

I have read the comics and watched the animations, and the thing about SF is that the story isn't consistent. There are many contradictions all the way through. And a lot of times different media adaptions have different stories. Tekken is clearly defined, detailed and cool. I would rather play SF over Tekken because of the gameplay, but the SF story needs lots of work. Those anime scenes in SF4 were garbage.

Well I dont spam with Shin Akuma. I like him as a character because hes faster, stronger. I know theres people online that just spam with fireballs or hadukens. But if you were really good. You would know how to get out of it and still kick their ass

Dee Jay was okay, but really Fei Long and Cammy are the only decent new characters from SSF2. They should dump T Hawk and put in someone else, or someone new. Hopefully Juri will be good.

IMO, I think every character's voice should have been done by someone from that respective nationality. But I guess that just wasn't in the budget....or some other lame excuse.
Deejay is my favorite street fighter character by a longshot. He had so many tools and combos in ST and due to this, he was able to go head-to-head w/ expert Ryu's and O'Sagats. The only thing that kept him from being the most powerful in the game is his lack of an overhead and a better fireball evade. You can't say the same about Guile or Dictator. One request that I have for SSF4 is that each character be given two supers.

How can you tell? The camera work and editing was so random that you can't really make out if that's his COMPLETE ultra or part of his ultra with some other normal moves/special moves/super move added inbetween just to make it look cool. Looks frikkin SWEET though, and I'm sure his ultra will be AWESOME.

Deejay is my favorite street fighter character by a longshot. He had so many tools and combos in ST and due to this, he was able to go head-to-head w/ expert Ryu's and O'Sagats. The only thing that kept him from being the most powerful in the game is his lack of an overhead and a better fireball evade. You can't say the same about Guile or Dictator. One request that I have for SSF4 is that each character be given two supers.

Well, stock-characters can be stereotypes, especially if they're ethnic stock characters.
Doesn't matter that much though - to me, the stereotypes in SFII were so hilariously over the top that I barely even thought about them.
Can't wait to play as Dee Jay, and hear the reorchestrated version of his theme. It's one of my favorite SF songs (as well as Honda's theme, which isn't in SFIV for some reason).

capcom of america made deejay when they were shown the original new characers; cammy, t.hawk, feilong and a headswap of feilong (like ryu and ken)
CoA thought this was cheap and would piss off fans, and so asked if they could make another character.

How can you tell? The camera work and editing was so random that you can't really make out if that's his COMPLETE ultra or part of his ultra with some other normal moves/special moves/super move added inbetween just to make it look cool. Looks frikkin SWEET though, and I'm sure his ultra will be AWESOME.

Every single character in the game is a stereotype. Every. Last. One. If a person can get beyond gameplay and graphics and look at the social commentary behind it (intentional or not), he might have a more accurate view of how developers (and players) see people.

We can love the gameplay, but too often it is used as an excuse to portray the worst in people. Like it or not, these things do influence how people see each other and themselves.
At this point in time, there is very little reason to not consider this when making a game, even one such as SSF4.

I found SFIV frustrating because I couldn't find a character I like and I can compete with that wasn't who everyone else used (I can win with Ryu, Sagat, Akuma but I want to be someone different because fighting the same character over and over is boring). bring on Super baby ;D
