  • It looks really like a jungle!

That's one of many positive things about living near the coast, it won't freeze very hard.

But there are many imposing jungle plants and trees for your jungle garden, for temperate climate (without dying from cold):

Gunnera manicata (Giant Rhubarb), phyllostachys nigra henonis (giant bamboo), Actinidia colomicta (climber with colorful leaves) , Paulownia tomentosa (tree with surprising big leaves), big ferns, etc

Create your own jungle: it's GREAT!

    ;-)

  • How is this possible? Isn't this island north of Washington State, US? Please tell me what is up with this.

  • @zigzigerblat This is why I have this Youtube channel to educate the world on palm trees that grow here on Canada's west coast. We grow many species of Subtropical plants here because our winter minimum temps. never get that low. The Pacific Ocean keeps our climate moderate year round. Never extremes of hot or cold. Watch my videos and you will see. There are streets in Vancouver & suburbs lined with palms.

  • @zigzigerblat I should also say that latitude has nothing to do with what can grow in a certain area. The Scilley Islands off the coast of England are at 49 degrees north latitude and they have a climate similar to SanFrancisco. The island is a subtropical paradise. You should Google Tresco Abbey Gardens. Also Southern Switzerland is over flowing with Palms and subtropical flora. Many other places in northern latitudes with mild winter climates.

  • wow, fantastic....great....super...wow

  • @zuckersteinchen Thanks. Glad you enjoyed it. Cheers

  • Looking at this you would swear you were in a tropical rainforest, not Canada!

  • @ftmyerserdoc You should see some of the jungle like gardens on our island. Some of them are down right crazy!

  • Could be anywhere here.

Thankyou Joe for another great video share!

  • @annemaree I think most people when they think of Canada they would be looking for Eskimos and Igloos, lol
