@danhughart After taking a second and third look, I think you are right, and it is not Vazquez Rocks. I have been to Vazquez a few times and even have a band photo we took there around 1996. The scene in Blazing Saddles has a different look.

@danhughart - Both Vasquez Rocks and Mormon Rocks are amazing formations ... and I think both follow the same fault line, which explains the similarities .... Mormon Rocks have more verticality, and are more rounded and bulbous .... Vasquez Rocks are less vertical, but edgier, with the layers more sharply defined - Very stark .... MANY movies were filmed in both locations .....

NONE of them were funnier than Blazing Saddles ...
