  • awesome! i am a pre teen bass player and i saw him at a performance. i met him and my friend who is the drummer in the band im in has an uncle who is a drummer who was friends with him. hes a nice guy

  • I took some classes from Adam down here in Nashville - one of the nicest guys you'll ever meet, and a monster player in person; he can take all this stuff apart and play it at any speed and explain it to you so you actually get it. Really a great teacher and a great player.

  • tecnicamente, bem semelhante a Zuzo Massawer

  • @Smee2000

Probably because they like Jazz music....

  • I like this version better than the original mp3. o.O

  • Just WOW.

  • Damn.

  • what brand of bass guitar is this?

  • Do you use any effects while u slap? Which ones?

  • Nice! that what um taking about

  • I learn off him :)

  • fuck i am a bassit, a pretty good one, and i thought that i had heard all top tier bassists! adam nitti rules!!!

  • Its very clever stuff, but why do all these bass dudes insist on playing this crappy old 80's jazz bollocks.

  • @Smee2000 yeah i know, they sometimes sound like sitcom music.

  • Love the little walk groove near the end... wish that was longer... wonderful song as a whole...

  • This guy grooves very nice..

  • GREAT SOUND!!

  • what bass is it?does anyone know?

  • @PLASMA22280 It's a Warrior bass, I think. As far as scales, I'm hearing quite a bit of Dorian mode in the minor sections (1, 2, flat 3, 4, 5, 6, flat 7, 1).

  • this may be a stupid qustion but can anyone tell me what scales he's using ?

  • Man this is easy I can play 4:00 to 4:05 really good! Lol!

  • I just wanna know who the seven clowns that disliked him were???? What the heck?

  • fucking awesome!!! now i'm depressed...

  • Jazz Fusion and Technical/Pathological Death Metal. The two most mind boggling, perplexing, and technical genres in the whole entirety of what we as a sentient species consider music. Seriously. Damn.

  • Truely a stellar musician and song. I saw him live at a clinic and its like he is in the pocket at all times even when not playing music.

  • Does this backing track piss off anyone else? This guy is phenomenal but I can't get over the backing track that sounds like it's from Mortal Kombat on Original Nintendo

  • i'd better buy your cd if it were... a dvd! i find much more pleasure at listening when i can as well see the player. and this allows me also "stealing" some technique! thank you Adam, great playing and great soul!

  • i didn't know that fusion used also that death metal-like tapping. really amazing music and player, it's a pity that a lot of good musicians such as you are semi-unknown.

  • @Metal94head Tapping started out in Fusion first.death metal has borrowed tapping from fusion.Stu Hamm(Steve Vai),Victor Wooten,Michael Manring and Dave LaRue have been tapping for decades.

  • @gebass6 i realized that after i wrote the comment. it's logical that death metal borrowed tapping from fusion, with fusion being born before death metal. sorry for the confusion, but im not much into jazz even if i like it a lot.

  • @Metal94head I find it admirable that death metal bassist are using this technique. From what I've seen they are doing some amazing stuff.I applaud them.

  • @gebass6 check cannibalisticzombie out. you might not like death metal but his skills are just crazy. he is definitely the best non-professional bass player i have ever seen.

  • @gebass6 Pretty sure EVH popularised tapping before any bassist ever had a go at it.

  • @woutertron Oh Yeah! They borrowed tapping from Eddie! He set the world on fire with "Eruption"Then,I think,Billy Shehan with Talas started tapping on bass. Then it jumped to Fusion.

  • dude you are awsome

  • 1:37 is the when you actually realise your playing a bass, and riffs to suit

  • yeah ok, its nothing more than a typical scale practice for warming up... the slap part don´t fit in any way with first part... the rest is elevator...

  • this is VERY unpretty

  • Love it. A huge package of expert technique, wonderful compositioning and soulful playing.

  • i think i'm buying some d'addario strings right now

  • @sony05 hahahah, yes, probably the secret to play like Adam is by changing the bass strings ...

  • i think i just got raped

  • this man has it all

  • very good very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very good

  • at first i thought this had no soul whats so ever. I kept watching and as i he went on............ he got SUPER FUNKY!!!!! lol I like it.

  • Anything that grooves, I'm game to listen to. This is definitely groovy. Great composition/playing adam!

  • wow.

  • i know it takes talent to play this. but this song really annoys me when i hear it.

  • brill Bass playing man. Kick ass.

  • Many young slapper should learn a few things on how to play tastful slap line instead of going as fast as they can.

  • @clefdefa Definitely. But it's the same way with electric guitarists. Some people are great and have great technique, some are great with decent technique, and some are great with poor technique. Generally, the greatest through fall on the "better technique" side of the scale.

Then there's some that just suck. Like Fieldy.

  • @clefdefa Hey man -- I live in Nashville, and I've taken private lessons from Adam, and I'm currently attending his master class on improv -- trust me when I tell you that what you're seeing here is Adam in maybe 2nd gear or so at the most - he can dial the groove up several more notches if he needs to! :) During class, he'll be pulling that kind of stuff out and explaining it while he's doing it - it's very humbling. :) Great teacher, tho!

  • This guy's obviously a very accomplished bassist, but I gotta say...spoo! Just cuz you can play a a bunch of notes doesn't mean you should. Weedlyweedleweedleee*yawn*. I mean it's great that he's enjoying his instrument, but for this listener, not so much.

  • amazing tone!

  • Wich instrument is this? a fat guitar??

  • @solterodeoro It's a six string bass.

  • That bass sounds SO damn good

  • why dont you try the one note MAN and quit showing off?

  • Comment removed

  • @alxparas11 Yeah!Yeah!Everybody play less!Be an underachiever!Don't make waves!Shoot for the ground,not the stars.You're making the really mediocre bassist look bad!Knock it off!!!(Sarcasm).

  • @alxparas11 This is his solo stuff smart ass. Who the fuck would just lay back on their SOLO ALBUM?

  • @foderaman4 I think people like Thelonioius Monk or Charlie Haden who is a smart b ass my friend, have done it a lot better! As for the stars my dear gebass 66 friend, they dance alone and they are silent!!!

  • @alxparas11 And that's great for them, but if you can rip it up, and back it up, then do it, especially on your solo project.

  • @foderaman4 THERE IS NO SOLO PROJECT MAN!

    WE ALL PLAY TOGETHER!

    THERE IS one voice!

  • @alxparas11 Riiiight. Tell that to Paul McCartney, or Robert Plant, or Keith Urban.

  • @foderaman4 Riiiight!

  • @foderaman4 MAN ON 4:13 he is out of the playback!

SOLO MAN, but with Marcus or Victor or JACO, not this vague copy!

  • @alxparas11 Actually if you look closely he's hammering on with his LEFT hand. A technique used A LOT by Victor, Marcus, Jaco, Stanley Clarke, Larry Graham, Nate Watts, and just about every bass player on the planet.

  • @foderaman4 My mistake!I didnt see it!Thank you!

  • @foderaman4 agreed.

  • @alxparas11 Acually the stars dance in pairs(binary systems)and groups(clusters)and they are not silent.they sing in radio,x-rays,microwaves,and gamma rays. And when there are trillions of others, you are never alone.

  • @gebass6 Great!

What a relief, someone takes care of these trillion rays and sounds when he wakes up!Sorry, you do that sleeping?

  • @alxparas11 Um....Hey!How 'bout that Adam Nitti!!!

  • @gebass6 Forgive my friend for being rude!Truly!

  • @gebass6 no microwaves make tv dinners....

  • @justAlex666 Yes.And TV dinners give me indigestion. What your point?

  • If you have made stupid comments regarding this video (and you know who you are), then you just don't have any reverence for great music and great musicians. Adam's playing is enough said!

  • what an awesome lick at 2:35

  • Grooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooove!!!!!!

  • MAN YOU ARE A CONSTANT SOURCE OF WHAT I ASPIRE TO PLAY LIKE..THERE ARE VICTORS AND MARCUSES..BUT YOUR GROOVE IS WHERE MY HEART IS...KEEP THE POST COMMING..THEY ARE TRULLY APPRECIATED......NIGEL670202

  • @nigel670202 You can play this fast with a good bit of practice, it's fretboard discovery that's hindering me now :( Gotta work on my theory and improv.

  • Adam is a good friend of mine and he's one of the nicest guys you can meet. My advice to anyone talking trash let's see your resume of who you played with, what you've done, and who you endorse. Adam got THE first db751 that's how much Aguilar respects him so until you have that kind of credit give Adam the respect he obviously and rightfully deserves.

  • One of the best players of all time.

  • too groovy

  • Adam has porno hands.....small hands make average dick look huge.....great playing though!

  • @CoachG1000 Porno Hands?Gospel Bass?Porno Hands?Gospel Bass?Huh?

  • @gebass6

    Tryin' to give a compliment...a what?....a compliment..a what?

  • Ummm...dude, you're terrific, but the name D'Addario" is pronouned "DuhDario"

not "D uh Dario" or "Dad uh Rio" - think about, you are so technically accomplished that they don't care! 6-string bass slinger!

  • Thanks, this is cool, nice, bright and tight.......nen

  • I like how even the higher notes sound like they come from a bass instrument.

  • wow!!! thats the shit!!!!!

  • Amazing player ~ followed him since the early days since I heard this on an SWR compilation cd. Awesome!!!!

  • Textbook example of a bassist who plays WAY in front of the beat. Personally I'd prefer to hear someone who sits back in the pocket more, but there's no denying the guy's got chops out the ying-yang.

  • @BusterMudd Yea man you got that right. I think He likes to cause he sticks out more in his playing. Man i just wish I had the technique like him cause then I could do some damage lol!

  • @BusterMudd

Adam is probably my favorite bassist of all time, but I can admit that this was not the tightest performance.

  • wow!

  • Wow. Amazing!

  • fantasticc!!!!! great!

  • Skitzo, good name for this song, cause he is all over the place. He could have made three or four songs out of that one, but I love it. This cat is a beast & he is sooooo funky. Check out his new cd "Liminal". The tital track "Liminal" & "The Good Foot" are just down right nasty.

  • Adam is a fucking monster!!!!! Thanks for posting this------I'm very inspired and I'm a drummer. Love his tone.

  • He's amazing, but i don't like the fingerstyle tone,don't know why.

  • if you like to criticize, first show your talent

  • el saxofonista es puto !! avicenle a la vieja que su sonido lo delata .....

  • BIG TALENT!!

  • How?

  • I thought the 7#9 chords at 5:04 seemed indulgent. The soloing is amazing. The song itself, though, seems a little bit too "smooth jazz" for me.

  • i Agree......some parts are just plain cheezy.....

  • I don't know how anyone can criticize Adam. He's in my top 5 favorite bassists to listen to. Amazing technique and style. Very melodic compared to other bassists who solo, on top of his great technique. Adam's really, really, awesome. And my favorite music is Thrash/Death Metal, so I don't know where some dummy metalhead (probably some teen with no clue) comes here talking garbage. Metal musicians dig this kind of stuff and are always looking to improve their playing.

  • baw-ring. No invention or originality... just turn your brain off and shred...

  • Hey Asshol... I Am NOT!!! An Emo Alright

In My Country There Arent Any Emos So STFU

  • @XxMetalCore23xX

Emo is from the DC scene in the 80's with bands like Fugazi, Rites of Spring and others

Please stop using emo to mean pussy who whines, you would have gotten your ass kicked at those shows.............

  • HOLY JEBUS!!! Freaking insane

  • @XxMetalCore23xX And you are probably a trolling spammer.

  • I listen to the most brutal stuff of metal, and I can confirm this is real music.

So take your conformist metal "I love metalcore cuz all the emo kids in my class like it too" and go cry in a damn corner.

Don't piss on musicians just cuz you can't understand the music.

  • @XxMetalCore23xX

You need to stop existing. lol.

  • Adam and Hadrien are the the best

  • Holy. Shit.

I´m going to go practice now.

  • Who are You>> My God! You are the best!

  • that slap part at 1:35 is fuckin dank

  • amazing

  • stunning and a pleasure to listen too

  • nice to see someone else sporting the aguilars

  • Manda muito esse cara...

  • Adam is the man!

  • Its actually a F bass Adam Nitti Signature.

  • @dylancornett It's a warrior bass

  • i love song

  • this is amasing

  • you've got the groove!

  • What kind of bass is that? Sounds really good. Is it a Tobias?? or Fodera? I have his CD and man this music is addicting. Jazz Fusion!! It's got a nice touch of funk and smooth jazz going on with sick slapping & solos, and for those doubting, yes it's Dave Weckl on drums.

  • It's a Warrior bass.

    :-)

  • No. That's Tom Knight on drums.

  • It's a Warrior bass. They're made in Georgia I think.

  • It's a Warrior Signature Adam Nitti. I think they're made in Georgia.

  • @bigbassalex sounds like Ken Smith electronics to me what do you think

  • @canvoodoo I could believe it. Can't say for sure though

  • @canvoodoo Warrior Bass,not a Ken Smith.

  • @bigbassalex how much does it cost?

  • @sebajo82 I've heard about $6000

  • @bigbassalex this basses are on the level of fodera, ken smith, Tobías, MTD? are there more economic?

  • @sebajo82 Warrior basses are as good as any of them out there. In my personal opinion, when you get up to that level of bass, the only differences between them are really minor or cosmetic. I'd be thrilled to own a Ken Smith, Fodera, MTD, Warrior, Ritter, Roscoe, or any of the high end basses.

  • it's a Warrior. good bass too.

  • holy shit that raking (sweeping) was fucking beasty

in fact the whole performance was beasty

    to favourites!

  • Sounds like Dave Weckl on drums. I could be wrong though.

  • it's Tom knight, but they're practically the same person. Dave plays a song on the same cd tho.

  • wow..what a flow man...awesome

  • my god

  • Guess he wouldn't be that good if he hadn't D'Addario Strings...

  • hahaha, that was funny

  • MONSTRO!

  • insane-orbs

  • See some bassists focus on slap or fingerstyle or chords but Nitti incorporates every aspect of those into his music and not only does he incorporate it, he incorporates it WELL!!

  • pasatee de verga loko xD

  • someone is my new hero... xD

  • repampanos!!!! muy bueno MASTER!!!

  • Porno music

  • jajajajajaja

  • LOL

  • @bumnutz09 LOL, if it was a King Crimson porn. This is no music!

  • @bumnutz09 Porn might use THIS music as a soundtrack because it is neutral(no words)But Fusion musician don't make their music for porn vids. All in all the thumbs up tells us what you all spend too much time with.

  • @gebass6 it was a joke...my god...

  • This song is so dank

  • Wow this guy is great! For some reason some of those pops he's playing remind me of the music from SNES Paper boy!

  • Sorry it's Steven Curtis Chapman, not Chris Tomlin... and i forgot the it's between cause and extremely

  • To the guy who asked why he wasn't famous, he is... sorta... He plays for Chris Tomlin which is surprising cause extremely simple stuff. I was in one of his classes at Camp Electric this year... all i have to say is... even beastlier in person... somehow

  • thats a warrior bass.... w w w.warriorinstruments.c o m

  • is he using tobais basses

  • quite possibly the ultimate fusion bassist.

  • hey guys anybody know his amp rig?? no adam nitti wiki page. yet...haha

  • i know he uses aguilar....

  • hey thanks....

  • I saw him celebrating the Redhead in an SWR ad...

  • I know he uses mark bass stuff, but i think ive seen him use eden at some point.

on this vid its probably the mark gear, with some tasty compression.
