I love the San Francisco 49ers since i was 7 years old or younger i thank my brother for it... but he is a Green Bay Packers Fan now he switch F#%@en van wagon fan. Anyways Steve Young was my favorite 49er. Joe Montana was great to but i grew up watching Steve put in some work & ever since he got that concussion on that Monday night against the Cardinals the 49ers had been struggling but Jim Harbaugh is gona fix all that with the west coast offense Bill Wash style GO NINERS!!!!
I will never forget this game....it was like watching the playoff game between the skins and 49ers in the 90 playoffs...HORRIBLE OFFICIATING!!!!...Art Monk was getting mugged every play and the refs would not call shit!!! but when the 9ers had the ball Darrel green would put a finger nail on Jerry Rice and 5 flags would be flying all over the field!!!! Total Bullshit!!!! the skins beat them down the whole game but unfortunaly they were also playing against the refs!!!!
There' no rape in a football game, as you said the better team won. The San Francisco 49ers owned the Dalals Cowboys in the 1980's and won 4 Super Bowls to zero for Dallas. No shame in admitting that either. IMO the only thing that separated the early to mid 1990's Dallas Cowboys from other teams really was their o-lines and d-lines. Once Dallas lost that they went down the shitter.
@AllPro777 he got exposed?????? gibbs was a great coach who did no need a hall of famer QB to win a Super Bowl unlike belichcik, walsh and jimmy johnson...he won with joe nobody 3 times in the super bowl..something no other other coach has done in NFL history...NUFF SAID!!!!!!!!
You need to read more carefully. I clearly stated that Mark Rypien got exposed after the Super Bowl win. I am correct. Teams learned how to confuse him and he was NEVER an effective NFL quarterback after that. And I also correctly stated that Gibbs could not squeeze another title out of him, and he did not. I never said Gibbs got exposed, I'm talking about his QB's only. Besides Theismann, neither of his 2 other championship QB's were effective after winning the Super Bowl.
@cbaldwinjr whats funny is how they make bill belicheat sound like a god...the guy has never done shit without brady..he has coached 7 seasons in the nfl without Brady as his starter..Results??? "5" losing seasons and only 1 playoff appearance..belicheat couldnt hold Gibbs jockstrap..not to mention that Gibbs has 10x the amount of class as that douch bag
@jpete3027666 Competition was weaker in 91. The 49ers were in rebuilding form, Cowboys hadn't mature, Green Bay still was still a year away from getting Holmgren/ Favre (Infante/Majik ran things), Denver was four years from away from getting Terrell Davis, and Deion was still in Atlanta. The only competition in 91 was the Buffalo Bills.
@TheEntertainmentonly: Well, this 1992 Niner team wasn't that great. They were lucky to be 14-2. The Saints should have beaten them in both their meetings, and they should have beaten Buffalo at home as well. Dallas-NO should have been the NFC Title that year at the Dome.
@a7b7c78 There is no such thing as "lucky to be 14-2" and its useless to say all these "should have's". It is what it is. The 49ers were a good team that year. If it wasn't for Dallas they would've won another SB.
@TheEntertainmentonly Most emphatically not true. The NFC was an extremely solid conference in 1991. Two 10-6 teams missed the playoffs. The Boys were essentially the team that would win the Supe the next year. The problem was their division; the '91 Redskins won a division with an 11-win team, a 10-win team, and the defending champs (who would have gone 10-6 if not for two drubbings by Washington) in it. Now if you are actually talking about '92...the NFC fell DRASTICALLY off that year.
@donnpatc The NFC fell off? The niners were 14-2 and Dallas was 13-3, hardly drop off.
The amazing NFC East continued to send what would amount to the last four super bowl victors to the playoffs, and the 11-5 eagles were good, the 12-4 saints were good, only the NFC central was unimpressive.
I am a die hard 9er fan, I am going to disagree with you. THey just out classed. That holding call on the first play from scrimmage that went for a TD really fucked off everything. I excepted that cause hey the 9ers are the best.
exactly they don't cal that and we go up and have the advantage remember dallas hadn't won anything yet and we had players who been there before we gave them the mental advantage
I just wish some people can agree wiht that. It was a mental thing, cause that young Cowboy team would have went to shit and got their ass kicked if that was not called.
And what's your excuse for the 93' NFC title game? Cowboys RAPED the Whiners with ease. There's a reason the Cowboys have 3 rings in the 90's, compared to the 1 of the 49ers. And it's because they were better. No shame in admitting that.
@jplaya2023 no dude, there is a difference between grabbing and pushing. That 49ers dude grabbed him by the wrist or somewhere there. I can't remember.
Went to this game, probably one of a handful of Redskin fans at the stick, somehow ended up sitting next to Jeff Bostic of all people... Remember Steve Young fumbled the ball 3-4 times and kept the Skins in the game,,,
Would have been awsome to go down to Dallas a week later...
I wish the Redskins were this good again. As a matter of fact, I think this was their last decent year until the sporadically decent play from the 1999 season until now.
The Redskins trailed 17-0, 17-13 late in the 4th Qtr, were deep in Niner territory, opened up a hole for Brian Mitchell as wide as the bay... and he FUMBLED the ball...UUUUUUGH!!!
Steve Young boy!!!!!!!

Great game. Heartbreaking loss for the Skins. Took a while to get over this one.Btw, this 49ers team did not suck. Some of you are blind homers

Technically FOUR QB's since Schroeder was the starter the majority of the '87 season. Gibbs and Beatherd were just incredible.
