I have listened to Celine, since she became popular in the 80's, and thankfully through the wonderful web and YouTube, have discovered that Celine sucks. Her voice couldn't hold a candle to many other female artist in her category.
I don't understand why people keep trying to compare Celine and Sissel... They're both amazing. I think Sissel has an amazing vocal range and a lot of emotion, but then again Celine has a very powerful voice... However, the fact that Sissel can stand on stage and sing like this live is absolutely fantastic.

I don't listen to Sissel because I think she has the loudest or most powerful voice, although she can certainly match Celine.
I listen to her because: I love the kinds of songs she does, especially the traditional scandinavian songs. I love the arrangements she sings, always with the best musicians, chorus, etc. Her vocal skills are extremely good, better than any except the very best professional opera singers. Her voice is the purest, sweetest, most beautiful sound I've ever heard, or ever expect to hear. I react to her songs emotionally, and sometimes spiritually, in a way unlike any other singer I've ever heard.
Honestly, this is not a good upload and this is certainly not Sissel's best perfomance, although it is a good song. If you want to understand why I prefer Sissel to all other singers, you need to listen to many more of her songs, downloaded or off CD, so the quality isn't degraded. If you just prefer Celine, you should go leave some positive comments on one of her uploads and stop wasting your time here.

Her voice is so special. It's got a sparkle and magic that no one can compare. When she sings you find yourself smiling. She talks to your heart in a way no one else can.

You are right in saying that she is a better singer than Celine. As a matter of opinion, she cannot be compared to Celine because Sissel has a rich and cultured voice let alone its natural superb quality. If we really have to compare them, Celine would sound like a strained croaking frog. Sissel can be world renowned too if given the right break at the right time and a better handler perhaps :D. I like to watch Sissel singing because of her smiling face in her performance. She can reach every high notes effortless - that's why she can keep smiling faces all the time. It's happy to listen to her calmly angel voice.

Her voice fills me to the brink with pure clarity as well. Both she along with Sarah Brightman and Charolette Church are in this catagory of musicianship all on their own. I lived and worked in Glasgow for 15 months. For such a small country, you Scots have a variety of accents. It took a few months for me to pick up a Glaswegian ear. Beautiful country and good people. My workmates made me feel at home.

Now really! Comparing Sissel and Celine Dion is like comparing Placido Domingo and Elvis Presley. Sissel was married to Eddie Skoller for ten years (1993-2003) who is a famous Danish musician/entertainer (thats why the danish people know her) ;). You should come to Scandinavia now, Sissel has a christmas concert tour going on with another Norwegian artist. (in Sweden before christmas). She toured in Norway in november;) They got really good critics!
My wife is Danish and Norwegian and apparently more Norwegian than Danish. She is learning about Sissel because of me. We live in Florida in the winter and Maine in the summer. In the US, of course. And she didn't know about our trip, so her comment was, is he going to put us up? I said I'm not sure it is even a "HE". My wife just told me her mothers name was Margrethe. And her grandfather immigrated from Sweden to the US as a 15 year old all by himself. By the way, I'm 79 and my wife is 66.

You are right in saying that she is a better singer than Celine. As a matter of opinion, she cannot be compared to Celine because Sissel has a rich and cultured voice let alone its natural superb quality. If we really have to compare them, Celine would sound like a strained croaking frog. Sissel can be world renowned too if given the right break at the right time and a better handler perhaps :D. (I'm from the far east)

I like to watch Sissel singing because of her smiling face in her performance. She can reach every high notes effortless - that's why she can keep smiling faces all the time. It's happy to listen to her calmly angel voice.

Her voice fills me to the brink with pure clarity as well. Both she along with Sarah Brightman and Charolette Church are in this catagory of musicianship all on their own. I must disagree with lolqueta though. Just because pop is a phenomenon does not make one who has pure musicianship have simple potential. They supercede pop.

The one word that I would describe Sissel with is "PURE." She is so fantastic she is solidly pure through and through. Unbelievable voice. I would love to see her in concert.

I lived and worked in Glasgow for 15 months. For such a small country, you Scots have a variety of accents. It took a few months for me to pick up a Glaswegian ear. Beautiful country and good people. My workmates made me feel at home.

And if you cared to visit his channel you would learn what motivates him to produce that loose claim: if you only knew about sisterly love. Sweden did not produce a single decent singer the last 20 years, while Norway did at least 10. Cecilia Lima Knutsen and Marita Solberg to name two, even better than Sissel.

Now really! Comparing Sissel and Celine Dion is like comparing Placido Domingo and Elvis Presley. I am not trying to start an argument but anyone with ears can tell that Celine simply does not have anywhere near the vocal range and of Sissel. Not to mention the clarity of her voice. Sissel was married to Eddie Skoller for ten years (1993-2003) who is a famous Danish musician/entertainer (thats why the danish people know her) ;). You should come to Scandinavia now, Sissel has a christmas concert tour going on with another Norwegian artist. (in Sweden before christmas). She toured in Norway in november;) They got really good critics!

My wife is Danish and Norwegian and apparently more Norwegian than Danish. She is learning about Sissel because of me. We live in Florida in the winter and Maine in the summer. In the US, of course. And she didn't know about our trip, so her comment was, is he going to put us up? I said I'm not sure it is even a "HE". My wife just told me her mothers name was Margrethe. And her grandfather immigrated from Sweden to the US as a 15 year old all by himself. By the way, I'm 79 and my wife is 66.

However PolyGram Records would not pay $1,000,000 for the options to an uncertain soundtrack-album and insisted that the more popular Celine Dion performed the song.
