"chlorine and chloride are quite simply not the same thing."
Chlorine is the element. Chloride is the anion form of chlorine when bonded to a cation, in the case of salt Na. The reason there is an "-ide" is because of the fact that it's the anion in the molecule.
You seem to have missed the point, anyway, so to elaborate: the fun thing about molecules is they have properties that are beyond the properties of the individual atoms. Hydrogen is extremely volatile. Water isn't. Simple enough?
you just proved my point. Chlorine and Chloride are different by virtue of their molecular makeup. That they have similar elements is irrelevant when each is viewed separately and as a whole on it's own. Don't google or wikipedia information and try to pretend that you invented science. Sodium chloride is different from chlorine bleach in every way that is important. You are quoting pseudo-science like you are an apologist for global warming scientists and beureacrats that fudge numbers
"Chlorine and Chloride are different by virtue of their molecular makeup."
I said this in the first post... What's the difference between Chlorine and NaCl? The same difference between Carbon and CO(2)...
So you wish to say that CO(2) is not bad simply because we have carbon in us? That's as bad as saying Chlorine is good for us, because salt is. Or that hydrogen is good for putting out fires. There is no real difference.
this is old. The EPA recently ruled that Co2 is a toxic pollutant which it is not. This is not your standard "war on drugs, war on terror" this is open war on humanity and nature now. They pretend they want to save the planet. Plants are made of carbon. Humans too. We emit it when we breathe. Everything on this planet turns to carbon when it is burned, carbon is the base biological unit of the planet. You have just been declared the enemy.
And salt is a useful part of our diets despite chlorine being incredibly dangerous to us... There's a difference between CO(2) and carbon just as a part of a molecule.
Beyond that, the problem isn't that there's CO(2) in the air, it's that there's too much CO(2) in the air.
what does chlorine have to do with salt? Salt is sodium chloride. Chlorine is a by-product of aluminum manufacturing, it is highly toxic. There isn't too much CO2 in the air or we couldn't survive. There is more nitrogen and CO2 in the air we breathe than oxygen. The oceans are the main repository of CO2 and regulate the planets temperature in conjunction with the sun. We simply cannot compete with those two factors. I think you need to learn to READ more and attack people on the internet less
The same thing carbon has to do with carbon dioxide.
As for there not being too much CO(2), I guess it's my fault for using a vague phrase like "too much". The problem isn't that there is CO(2) in the air, it's how much is in the air. Considering it is a GHG and is not being naturally sequestered because we're removing it from where it was sequestered through fossil fuels, and putting it back in the atmosphere, there's an effect gained from it.
you seem to like to quote people as if you know something they dont, but then you don't actually put forth a dissenting comment or fact. We cannot compete with volcanoes, foliage decaying livestock farting or any other thing on this planet that produces CO2 as a waste product of nuclear decay. All of these things have been around long before we started building factories that pump smoke into the air starting a few hundred years ago. These hacks pretend the planet is small but it is massive.
The earth has been cooling this past decade, just as the sun's activity reaches a solar minimum. Surprise, surprise. The sun heats the earth. Wow, who would have thunk it?
More CO2 would lead to more plant growth, alleviating world hunger, and with more plant growth, mother nature would correct for CO2, by producing more oxygen from our forests and seas.
You're absolutely right. Shortening the time-span to a decade is the mentality of the sky is falling, send all your jobs and taxdollars overseas green freaks. So you're right in saying we should look beyond a mere decade - although according to your theory, we should have seen warming over this period, but nonetheless...
There have been warmer and colder periods in the thousands of years of man's history. The Medieval Warm Period for example, enjoyed warmer temperatures even without SUVs.
Global Warming studies are based on bad science sponsored by OPEC,Russia,China,India and GE. These groups are the financial beneficiaries of it. Our jobs and energy will go to China and India. U.S. energy use is more clean and efficient. Have you ever been to China? You cant breath the air and everyone has to ware a mask. Cap and Trade will further depress our economy and strengthen our enemies. The answer is simple; drill here, drill now, put a $50 per barrel fed tax to invest in alternatives.
The media is squashing all information that is contrary to extreme leftist views on Global Warming, Healthcare and Immigration. These are the most important issues of our time. Conservatives need to unite and focus on them. Moderates are our allies in these are areas. Have you heard that Global Warming is causing Global cooling! What a farce.
chlorine and chloride are quite simply not the same thing. Carbon is the primary component of carbon dioxide or it would not be carbon dioxide

"you seem to like to quote people as if you know something they dont"
I haven't quoted anyone except for you and that was only so you and anyone reading could know what specific point I was addressing without ambiguity.
"We cannot compete with volcanoes, foliage decaying livestock farting or any other thing on this planet that produces CO2"
We don't necessarily have to produce any ourselves. We just have to stop the normal system of sequestering from working.

So which source of science is more objective?
Peer reviewed physical science journals.
Or
op/ed books and blog posts.

Co2 - plants love it and so should you.

Actually, Carlin's "study" says that hasn't been true since 1957. See? You don't even know what you're defending.
Moron.

Shortening the time-span (to a mere decade!) in order to avoid the point?
That's truly moronic.
