Not sure since Fred Neill wrote "everybody's talkin."
Still, I love Harry and am glad to see his story being told. Buzzy Linhart told me, "That guy would be drinkin' bourbon at obscene hours of the morning."
saw it on netflix and really enjoyed it. what an amazing voice. I realized that he is the voice behind many timeless hits even though i did not know his name. He must be truly missed.
Happy Birthday to Harry - where ever you are! He would have been 70 today....
This is an excellent documentary - a MUST HAVE for any Harry fan, or anyone who just wants to know him better. He was always such a mystery - but you really feel like you know him well, after watching this. Sad that he was so self destructive - but so many creative geniuses are this way, unfortunately. RIP Harry.
Q: Was it Harry Nilsson or John Lennon with the beard and white suit in the first few seconds of another YouTube for "Wang Chung's -- To live and die in L.A"?, which you see by pasting "/watch?v=vBVxvFxRClM" to youtube dot com. Whoever it was, you could see again in the video for a few more seconds as well.
I watched this on Netflix last night. I've always been a fan but didn't know much about the man himself. He was absolutely a risk taker and created for the love of music and not to sell a record. I'll be watching this again!
Although i consider myself a study of music history, I had not idea who he was until i saw this documentary and connected the famous songs with this man! A few years later (now) the doc. is being shown on Netflix......I have watched it 3 or 4 times in the last 3 days. Bitter-Sweet.
@tbizone2002 I am a music junkie from back in the day and I grew up listening to him when I was around seven years old, starting with watching the broadcast of The Point when I was a little colored girl in the 70's. I am happy younger people are finding these gems of music. Nilsson was incredible, music is not the same anymore, it has changed and not for the better. They need to do a film on Mott the Hoople and other greats musicians.
Please...Not for the better? Maybe don't judge all new music based on what you see in mainstream media. There is a lot of new music out there that is awesome. Just not on the radio.
@kimrabb If there's a film on Mott The Hoople, I will expect Joe Elliot of Def Leppard and Mick Jones of the Clash and Big Audio Dynamite to be among the interviewees.
@tbizone2002 I know, I'm usually one of those people that everyone asks about music and movies. But I didn't really know ANYTHING about him. I had HEARD of him, but didn't realize he was so great.
I'm SOOOOOOO looking forward to this......why the fucking hell did it take so long to put it out, huh?? The guy was absolutely brilliant and it's so heartbreaking to think that a documentary's been sitting in limbo for 4 YEARS before anyone could enjoy it...fuck me, it just doesn't make sense. No justice, brother.....no justice.
When will we stop indulging Robin Williams? He keeps popping up where there is no cause for him to be.

I wish everybody was ALSO talking about Fred Neill, God rest his soul...

He was America's answer to the Beatles. Sometimes he even sounded a bit like John at other times like Paul.
