@JanJanNik he wouldn't have stasised all the vultures and some vultures would be able to kill many of the probes. Thats y he stacked the probes, to get all the probes stasised. The vultures were kinda separated.
@JanJanNik No, he wouldn't have had the energy to hit all the vults, they were spread around too much. What he did is he moved all his probes in to mine one mineral patch which bunched them all up so he could fit them in one stasis field.
recall: more cost on energy, the time to send probes back from being recalled would be unsafe for probes especially with mines all over the map and vultures had map controll
interesting technique from pusan but i feel he wouldnt have had that opportunity to do it because the terran shoulda rushed the probes after the cannons, not attack the pylon & nex
In StarCraft units that are mining can move through eachother. Once they stop mining (when they are stasised) they can no longer all sit on top of eachother and the movement is the game deciding where to place them so they don't overlap.
A few, the only one I can think of is Chalrenge Vs. The Rock. It's a pretty old game, and even though it's PvP (so I guess mind control might not be as interesting as a v T or Z) it's still an incredibly good game. I think Rise and another commentator did a cast for it on the Violetak channel about 7 - 9 months ago. You should check it out.
When you stasis stacked units, they try to unstack while staying still. You sometimes see it with tanks unsieging or vultures laying mines while being stasised.
i think this is a fairly common play at low to medium level but the fact that he used it in a pro game is fucking baller

this was good, yes also bad. good, he saved the probes, bad, he doesn't get to mine for a very long time now.
KTFlaSh96 3 months ago
nah, its not unique. I did that many times back to 2002 year.
Zaopatrzeniowiec 3 months ago
And just as he does displays this gosuness, he sends another flock of probes to get owned by reinforcing vultures.
ToSSpLaY 3 months ago
That's great and all, but the probes died anyway.
A smarter move would have been recall although he may not have had enough energy.
truekoreanlover 3 months ago
I played BW as a kid and i dont remember this, what did he do to the probes?
RyanStarcraftProtoss 6 months ago
@RyanStarcraftProtoss he used stasis on the probes. in other words they became invulnerable to all damage.

and after a few seconds all those probes still died

It feels like I have to say someting. So ill say that we know why it's unique.

Cool idea with the stasis
But I think it would've been more effective if he just stasised the fuckin vults... no harvester loss, no building HP loss.

Recall cost more energy, so it wud be more cost effective if u didn't recall

stork vs luxury, i think. or stork vs some other zerg. stork uses mind control on a drone ... i wont spoil any other details.
the game is an epic hour-long standoff that you have to see. the refs even step in at the hour mark as they did in chalrenge vs. the rock.

@cpricejones i wanna see this game

can you provide a link to the video...? or you might as well spoil it since we can't find the video...

Why didn't he recall them out, cheaper energy use too
LunarFaith 2 years ago
Probably because of the time it would take to run them back after the threat is cleared?
pianomikey0 2 years ago
@LunarFaith
I think Recall uses 150 energy and Stasis only uses 100 so it was cheaper to do that move.

@yukidotube yea, stasis is 50 energy cheaper than recall so whatever floats his boat i guess
EyedeaXAbilities 3 months ago
@yukidotube Can't fully remember, but I thought you had to upgrade recall first.
MysticLoser 3 months ago
@yukidotube Recall cost is 150 and this Freezing thing is 100. So maybe there was not enough Energie.
Typ260 3 months ago
@yukidotube i guess he didn't had enough energy for recall or the recall wasnt up yet!

yeah. but all that mining time gone so it is i guess a pro/con kinda thing.
ultimately, however, that's a really smart thing to do. better some time than remaking those probes.
LameoDuelist 2 years ago
That's so weird - why do some of them keep moving? Is it just pathing glitches, or can probes actually move while stasis'd?
Chzrm3 2 years ago
@Chzrm3 they're just unstacking after being stasis'd, it'd happen to any stacked group after being stasis'd
and you can also worker drill through a stasis'd unit and then unstack your workers to move the stasis'd unit around haha
AznAcorn 2 years ago
its pathing since they were all stacked they glitch around like that until they settle into empty hexes
thundasc 2 years ago
pathing glitches bru. and it was brilliant, although i think he got shit on anyway this game
