Gears 2 would be better if the host advantage was taken out. I play off host 85% of the time and i get more kills than host most of the time. I play better off host than with host.

Number 2 your shotgun is determined by your connection to the host. Host does have a slight advantage but the better your connection to host is the more easier it will be to kill host.

I mean what if i live in washington D.C. and there is someone thats host in california? then the people who live the nearest have the bigger advantage because of lower ping. There is almost zero lag on games using dedicated servers.
Epic are just stupid for mot using Dedicated Servers on Gears 2 - they took the cheap laggy way out of the problem & pretty much f***ed up the multiplayer for almost everyone.

Yeah, the only reason host weapons seem 'stronger' is because every bullet registers.
Even on great connection a short amount of bullet lag and one bullet not registering can decide the battle.

yes it does, for example Gears isnt like halo where if you die while shooting your enemies bullets wont do damage however on gears it will you can actually tie a game by getting to players to get a sniper rifle and getting a headshot on each other at roughly the same time however if your host even an active reload bullet wont kill you

What makes it worse was that Cliffy B promised the Host would have little to no advantage which was obviously dead wrong as of the release of Gears 2.

host does have an advantage, but it still takes skill. usually the other team i'm going against has host and we usually kick their ass. but a good example is one time i was host and went 17 kills, 0 deaths. average for me is at least 15 and 2, so i knew somethin was up. u can tell if you're host when you're selecting your weapons, if the 0s blink twice then you're host. i'm sick of the shotgun in gears 2, but the host shotgun is 10 times worse. it should run on dedicated servers
