You really did your best to push all the buttons you could. But you know what? I'd be willing to bet money that in your time of need, that same officer whom you tried your best to denegrate would show up and give you all the help he could, because that's what a good police officer does: protect and serve. Throughout your whole ridiculous ordeal, he maintained a high degree of professionalism and for that I commend HIM.
@jburge426 .. guns may not be registered, but the purchase of them is certainly noted due to the 'instant check',.. where I stand there like a dumbass for 1.5hrs while they make sure 'Its OK' for me to purchase/own/possess a firearm.. & I'm sure that data is just 'forgotten'.. & way to be respectful of someone who may not know the details of Va. State Laws..
That being said, the PD's & SO's, but especially the Troopers in Va., they're great.. I do get paranoid of cops, but ->
@Wrongway1965 .. -> but I do have to say that 95% of my dealings with them in Va. have been positive..
the guy called attention to himself & thats why he was stopped.. he did it loudly, but not illegally.. the cop should've just mumbled under his breath about it & let it go, but he didn't,..(he's never worked a basketball game with rowdy fans?).. so now there's a lawsuit.. & to you, its a lame ass case, just a ticket for being loud, but accoutability starts @ home 1st & then grows
Man, I gotta tell you, this is not helping a very real issue. I think you know that as you seem to be an intelligent person. You of all people should know, you have to pick your battles.
Oh another point just to show everyone how stupid you really are, "I will call the mayor". Hey dumbshit, VCU officers are STATE officers, they work for the Commonwealth, NOT the city of Richmond, therefore the holy mayor would have no control, pull, or power over them. Thank you for proving your idiocity.
Furthermore you wrote "and I nor most people I know, have not given any consent to have special authority over them". Have you ever voted in a state election?? Then guess what dumbass you have given the police authority over you. You put the elected legislator in office, who then write and enacts the laws of this Commonwealth, which the police are sworn to uphold and enforce, guess what.....there you are giving them that authority.
Hey dumbass you know the cops can download this video and use it against you in court? You freely write you used the megaphone, then in the video you state "I may or may not have used it", so you lied to the police. Yelling through a bullhorn not watching where you are driving is called reckless driving. You are lucky this officer didnt hammer you for more than he did. from the message below I see you lost in court, serves you right.
As a fellow military veteran, I would like to say this...You sir, are wasting good oxygen. Quit thinking that because you served in the military or still serve (whatever the case is) that you can act like a complete fool and get a free pass out of it. You heckled the while he was job, and you acted like you were a victim. You tried threaten repercussions if you got the ticket. He has a dangerous job and you distract him? Get a life.
What is disorderly conduct and how's disorderly conduct measured. A male dressing like a woman and walking around in the street, is that conduct disorderly. There are too many BS laws and ordinance that make the place feel like a police state. If I talk back to police that"s disorderly conduct? What the heck!! Who are they? The NYC PD is famous for writing BS tickets for "Disorderly Conduct"
I know it could never had been a black motorist, had it been, the cop would have dragged him out of the car call for back up, arrest him and lock him up and trumped up charges. Two different justice in America. Buddy I'm still happy you stand up for you rights, even though you lost in court. Don't forget that the police are working for the system. The judge works for the system, the system pays the judges, so they will find you guilty no matter what. They need the monies to pay their salaries.
Maybe he shouldn't have charged Obstruction of Justice, however using a bullhorn or megaphone from a vehicle is a noise ordinance violation....I'm an Iraq Veteran as well, and your character is an embarrassment.
So,....what happened when you went to court ?

@jvangel The charge was dismissed in Appellate Court. I'm about to settle a Civil Lawsuit with their PD.
