I tend to use for the verse:

Em, D, G C

and then Em, D, C.

but what did you use?

Although I played a little wrong at times, but you hardly notice =P

When I strum I just go with feeling, you can easily hear how to strum since it sounds different up and down, if you just listen to the song and play along you will know what I mean =)
