10 Ottoman soldiers who are brothers of my grandfather were sent to Yemen with the Ottoman army and nobody return back. Ottoman soldiers belong to all the Ottoman Empire nationalities in that time and not only Turks. Especially in Yemen war, many people from Palestine, Lebanon, Syria and Iraq were sent to Yemen with the Ottoman army.
Turkish were busy in that time to prepare for WW1 with their German ally, so many of the Ottoman soldiers in the last Yemen war 1905 to 1917 were Arabs and Albanian.
I met in 1993 an old man who was Ottoman solider in that war. He described exactly how the Yemeni used to attack them at night and to have direct fight by all types of weapons.
Ottoman Empire lost 90% of Arab world in 19th century. So I do not understand how they call it Turks-Arab fight????

Yemen is a beautiful country. Last year I visit Saudi Arabia, Abu Dhabi and Yemen. And Yemen was the country which fascinated me most!!! The landscape was great and the country has such a great culture and history. We visit the old city Marib is was amazing the people their are very decent and sympathic. The fact. It was mistakes of solider that did big mistake there. Yemeni can not tolerate Turkish soldiers mistakes. You can imagine how is horrible when somebody do something bad for you family. 10 Ottoman soldiers who are brothers of my grandfather were sent to Yemen with the Ottoman army and nobody return back. Ottoman soldiers belong to all the Ottoman Empire nationalities in that time and not only Turks. Especially in Yemen war, many people from Palestine, Lebanon, Syria and Iraq were sent to Yemen with the Ottoman army.

Turkish were busy in that time to prepare for WW1 with their German ally, so many of the Ottoman soldiers in the last Yemen war 1905 to 1917 were Arabs and Albanian.
I met in 1993 an old man who was Ottoman solider in that war. He described exactly how the Yemeni used to attack them at night and to have direct fight by all types of weapons.
Ottoman Empire lost 90% of Arab world in 19th century. So I do not understand how they call it Turks-Arab fight????

Yemen is a beautiful country. Last year I visit Saudi Arabia, Abu Dhabi and Yemen. And Yemen was the country which fascinated me most!!! The landscape was great and the country has such a great culture and history. We visit the old city Marib is was amazing the people their are very decent and sympathic. LOL an Arab calls Turkish an ugly language ahaahahHAHAHAH, thanks for making me laugh, you made my day :)) We used Arabic writing but with our own language. But now we luckily dont use it anymore. Our language contains 90% Turkish words, 5 % French, 4 Arabic (mostly Islamic words), 1 % rest. Ataturk clean most of our language we need to clean the last 10% of contamination in our language soon !!!
