You have to be careful about this line of philosophy. Science is only a tool for gaining information and developing theory. If scientists started allowing their feelings and/or theologies to interfere with their raw data collection, then the data collected is biased and worthless. Science has to be cold. Science can't take the side of either the defense nor the prosecution. A scientist must be careful to only say, "If (independent variable) then (dependent variable)."

@DallasMay claiming to have no bias is itself a bias. the belief that thoughts can be separated from feelings is itself a bias. saying science has to be cold is as dangerous as saying science needs to be warm. the entire idea that something can be studied in isolation has been thoroughly debunked. separate an organism from its environment and it behaves completely differently that in the world. this is as true of an electron as it is of an animal.
