First of all, how do you know he refuses to be violent? Do you know him? No, you don't. So don't make assumptions just because you don't like to think of him that way. Re-read my comment. The word was never appears in it. I know he's alive. He is a pussy though. I know gradeschoolers who could kick his anemic ass. If he had mass commercial appeal we wouldn't even be having this discussion because I doubt this video would have been made in the first place. Regardless though he has made plenty of money and there are way more controversial things being done in every field of art-including comics. He did open the door for a lot of up and comers and I like him.

By the way, he DOES have mass commercial appeal and he has turned down plenty of multi-million-dollar deals. The first big one he turned down was a regular gig in Playboy magazine back in the '60s.

Great shit! Big Crumb fan here. Loved the Crumb movie. I don't know the name of the strip, but the funniest one I can remember was Mr. Natural on a train minding a baby. Do you know which one that is? Haven't seen in many moons.

What an innovator! Did you ever watch the movie "Crumb" a little look into his life. He was a strange little fella, he grew up in a very fucked up family, must have inspired him artistically. He loved just hanging around coffee shops and sketching people who walked by. Do you know what happened to him? Is he still alive. Last I heard he picked up and left the States.
