@gibsonguy625 The thing is, I've never played either of the Super Mario Galaxy games though, due to my lack of owning a Wii. I also haven't heard the Good Egg Galaxy theme yet (though I'll be sure to give it a listen), so I was convinced that the segment of the song I pointed out was from a much older Mario game.
The Super Mario Galaxy series are just so awesome... every Wii owner should at least own these games... how can you not like this music? This is true beauty at play here..
Apparently, that screenshot is where they used a choir as they can't really fit in the recording session room thing. (well i think, so don't say some stuff like "hw did u knw th@t??" or "tell me how'd you knew that!!!111")
Well, I haven't actually made an attempt to learn an instrument. I use to play the drums for Lion Dances when I was a younger, but that was a long time ago. I'm just waiting my girlfriend to buy a piano so I can mess around with it:P
This song in the game itself is orchestrated, as many other songs from Galaxy are. That means they were recorded from an orchestra and not a synthesizer.
@manaphyfan Although, believe it or not, not every song from Galaxy 1 was orchestrated. Some, like the Cosmic Mario were used with only synthesized and computerized music.
Others were used with some instruments, and the other sounds were synthesized and computerized, like the Purple Coins music.
And then some, like Gusty Garden or Good Egg were entirely performed with instruments.
*jaw drops* holy! this is real beautiful piece, the arrangements are so beautiful, just when I thought Mario orchestrated music couldn't get better this jewel appears, 5 stars!
I know is not the orchestra on the picture, I have the platinum edition soundtrack and I saw the video of the mario galaxy orchestra playing this song, you even could see Shigeru Miyamoto watching them play on that video ^^
I know in this one this picture was just to illustrate it is orchestrated :)
Actually, the original music is orchestral.

Did 1:40 to 1:53 come from a different Mario theme? I'm sure I've heard it before.
If not, then props to mister Miyamoto for the brief deja vu. :D

@SNIPERGUY9294 The climax from good egg galaxy has the same sort of chord progression. Thats probably it.
