  • Hell yeah, Flying Steps don't have shit on these guys and their moves.

  • hahahaha i am LOLing all over the place, the dance they are doing is soooooo funny

  • The Dreamers are still playing with at least one of the original lineup, but Freddy was doing the Holiday camps last I heard. What the hell, they were just harmless fun, parents and little kids found the tiunes catchy and the Freddy dance funny. Since Blue Peter was/is a kids show (and a bloody cheesy, awful one at that) it was a good slot for them.

  • @ToffClobberer Agree with what you say but need to make a couple of points. Firstly, Freddie died in 2006 and the Dreamers no longer have any original members in their line-up. I remember sharing a booking with them around 1980 when Pete Birell was still with them but he is now long gone. As you rightly say, a fun, knockabout band, very popular in the UK and massive in America for a while. It all seems light years away now.

  • I want the phone number of their dealer

  • Petra's not too impressed

  • Too bad the drummer isn't moving his legs like they do :P

  • You have to remember it belongs to a very different age. When things were a little lighter than of now. Thanks for sharing.

  • This record just shows what an absolute load of crap the UK pop music industry was pushing out in the 1960s. Sounds like a castrated Buddy Holly( with apologies to the great Buddy)

  • The uk pop industry wasn't just cruddy Mersey beat, the Beatles, the Kinks, the Stones, the Who and many others have inspired musicians throughout the decades afterwards, their music still influences to this day.

  • Musically unoriginal, performance not funny

  • Gotta love the 60's. Thank you for sharing.

  • The original Harry Potter!

  • wow! so this is where my dad gets his moves from!

Every other British Invasion band > Freddie and the Dreamers

  • SEEING THE CLIP OF BLUE PETER (WITH VALERIE SINGLETON AND THE LATE CHRISTOPHER TRACE (AND PETRA) TAKES ME BACK TO MY PRIMARY SCHOOL DAYS (WHEN I WATCHED IT ON A REGULAR BASIS) YOU WERE MADE FOR ME WAS ONE OF MY FAVOURITE SONGS OF 1964.

  • So happy this is on YouTube My dad used to dance to this when I was a little kid lol I'm 26 now and I'm gonna dance to this if I ever have a kid. XD lol

  • WOW! Fucking EXCELLENT¬ R.I. P. MUKKA!

  • I wish the dog bit him.

  • Jeez, after all these years they STILL look like a gang of spiders trying to hold it in before their bladders explode . . . . when they weren't doing those spastic jumping jacks and calling it doing the Freddie . . .

  • precursor of Edward tudor pole?

  • You ought to be glad it isn't the song where they dance AND take their trousers off

  • so that's where Sir Michael Caine got his start

  • Oh those goofy boys. ;-)

  • IF & I DOUBT THEY EVER WILL MAKE A MOVIE ABOUT THIS GROUP THE PERFECT CHOICE FOR THE LEAD SINGER IS ANDY DICK!

  • I wonder if the song was dedicated for the dog.....

  • Im dancing like that at the next party :')

  • Looks pretty Sappy now, but i did like them a lot. :)

  • I'm sorry he passed on...

  • only this dance would be acceptable in the 60s!!! :) I LOVE IT :D

  • Worst miming ever LOL - take a look at the drummer ... his sticks don't even go near the drums or cymbals!

  • Manchester's Freddie & the Dreamers - Bloody Wonderful -You were made for me!

  • At least the drummer was spared the indignity of "The Freddie."

  • how cool! i love him

  • Is Freddie still alive? if so i bet he would cringe at this haha and if he is not he would turn in his grave haha

  • @jillymaz He's dead. So turning in his grave I guess. Let's hope his zombified corpse doesn't spring out of his grave doing 'the Freddie'. Holy shit, I just scared myself. :-/

  • The dog was Petra, the show dog for Blue Peter, a children's programme.

  • It was good innocent fun at the time !!

  • whos the dog ?

  • @CRISSYSEE Valerie Singleton LOL

  • @CRISSYSEE Valerie Singleton LOL(I think its Petra)

  • An inspiration for the Ministry of silly walks perhaps? ;D

  • The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, The Who, The Kinks and The Animals the Top 5 bands of the British Invasion. Freddie & The Dreamers the absolute bottom!

  • @hatmap Indeed. They copied what they could but clearly didn't understand anything about the movement they were trying to be a part of.

  • I wonder how 60's chicks dealt with Freddie and his overload of sheer sexual magnetism?

  • @guyfromnewcastle

    Best comment ever!!!!!

  • @guyfromnewcastle I sense a little sarcasm maybe? Have you not heard that a woman can be laughed into bed? and probably sung into bed too!

  • Brilliant dancing! Revolutionary!

  • 'British Invasion' this seems too lame to have ever made it across the Atlantic, must have sunk on the journey.

  • Freddie & the Dreamers were the clowns of the British Invasion, playing their pop music for laughs while the other groups of the time were dead serious.

  • @kielego Yeah...the other difference being that the other groups of the time were good.

  • I just love that dance! It's good for them that they sing better then they dance.

  • They learned this dance by stepping on very hot coals...

  • Freddie s the spitting image of Gene Vincent in 1956, Great Stuff though...

  • Probably the gayest dance ever but that's the great thing about it... back then nobody cared as long as you're having a good time.

  • Beautiful Music.

  • I'd like to fuck Valerie singleton.

  • It's hard to sing while you're jumping, I tried :D

  • @weasleynmunatoti I'm pretty sure he wasn't singing live in this video though.

  • can anyone remember when they started this record freddie came running on and said just a minute in his sqicky voice?

  • @noddygreenacre I can!

  • That last dance from 1:25ish is amazing and have you seen the size of Freddie's heels as he shuffles toward Petra? Ace.

  • sic bastards!!!

  • They were so cute! I saw them Manchester in their heyday!

  • For all the uneducacted it is what we call music when music was made for fun,

  • If he could I bet the drummer wud've done it like that as well :P

  • Believe it or not some of this band were the wildest party people around and wild as hell

  • OMG... These are fully grown men... I wish Petra took Freddie's hand right then.

  • Ahhhh bless him...good ole Freddie :)

  • Even I have to admit this was lame!

  • As camp as cat's meat.

  • haha u go freddie lad x x

  • what the fuck...?

  • Awesome moves!

  • Ha. In spite of all this squirrely shit this guy could really sing..really.

  • Hehe, it's like the nerd version of the 'all the single ladies' video

  • the ultimate in rock cuteness, with British pixies, and just so you know, I am not kidding, I LOVE THEM.

  • Epic Dance xDD

  • Freddie - My first love! Aaaaah

  • You got a great dad!

  • Anybody says that these guys suck have absolutely no clue. I can play this song on a guitar but to have to dance and move backwards onto stage platforms that I've seen them do isn't easy.

  • only the coolest dance ever, fuckin a

  • @esmeordiehc - Love it when he jumps in the air - E P I C !!

  • I can hear and see a lot of Buddy Holly in this.........I wish I could go back to the 60s and never leave.

  • This is fun - it's not seious music - this is a little piece of British (mostly English) heritage - for those would rubbish - Mmm ..ya must be a bloody foreign incomer with a view to rewrite history.

  • The original Dance Dance Revolution.

  • @RattyPussFACE These guys are awesome its a like a package deal they come with the 60s so fuck off

  • Better than JLS

  • That lead singer (Freddie) really looks like the lead out of the Lightning Seeds!!.What

a stupid little gig they are doing, and I thought that funny triangular dance the Virgin

Cliff and the Shadows was stupid,it's nothing compared to this crap.I thought Smashie and Nicey had made it up somehow!!.

  • Has anyone mentioned that he was into caravanning yet?

  • Gay dancing, but i like the song a lot.

  • I loved these when I was about five years old. Nice to see Petra.

  • What is this thing Brits have for BUDDY HOLLY ?

  • @Kramnosnits Nah, we had the Beatles :)

  • Now i know why my father was a good dancer LOL

  • he dances like a nut in most of his videos. its all part of what we call entertainment, It was fine when i was 13 when his songs came out

  • Freddie never took himself seriously but I guess if you never heard of Freddie and The Dreamers, you wouldn't get this.

I vaguely remember watching the show they're appearing on in this clip, Blue Peter. Another country, a long time ago...

  • love from an American. I was 11. loved the Dreamers, wearing my little "Lennon" hat and Courreges boots. the "invasion", loved Freddy. and the love of my life was named Freddy , too, but I moved away and married the wrong man. watching this though brings back the innocence and the happiness...he was so cute!!!

  • it's soo cool.. i wanna get familiarised with the better )

  • looks like lennon a bit

  • The dance is only a bit of fun and they are taking the micky out of themselves!

  • coolest dance ever!!!! not!!!!

  • Its WELL cool .... brilliant Dance ...

  • i was being sarcastic worst dance and song ever

  • I can't do that while playing guitar. Reason I'm not a rock star I guess.

  • Have you not checked out Sigue Sigue Sputnik. I think they might well be be in contention.

  • why?

they're awesome... Just a bit of fun.

  • I approve of these dance moves.

  • So 1964 was the last time decent music was on Blue Peter. I miss Petra!

  • God's teeth.1.25 onwards with the sound off. . .

  • If I remember correctly, the dog's name was Petra.

  • And according to wikipedia, even that was just a rumour..

  • 'care in the community' time! Try that nowadays and you would be put on medication.

  • 右端ギターの人、痛い‥‥

  • なぜですか。

    醜いから?

  • A great song that I remember fondly. Sadly the entire band were afflicted with St Vitus dance.

  • As far as i am aware the only one who was gay was Auntie Val!!

  • This is hilarious! What dapper fellows frolicking about!

  • Apparently the dog is dead now. can't believe it :*(

  • some people are to embarrasing. I hope my dad didnt dance like that.

  • This came on at a party and my dad started to dance to it...i don't think ive ever been so embarrased...

  • @nuttytart01 LMAO!

  • @nuttytart01 you know what they seying, you can't stop a old man to rock =P

  • The little "shuffle-step" that they did really went over big back then, especially with the ladies. But this is MY question: how in the heck did the couple with the dog keep a straight face???

  • that dogs like give me the word

  • Am I to take it it was the dog's birthday?

  • I sang this song and did the dance through the halls at school today...really loudly..lol :P haha

  • He is really in the tradition of the British Music Hall singers ,,, not Rock 'n Roll ... he's cool and very fun .... I remember him.

  • I like this guy! He's wholesome. Please don't compare him with The Beatles but the melodies of his songs just make me feel fine...
