what was the point of putting the kickstand up, putting it in gear, revving the engine, putting it back in neutral and putting the kickstand back down? mine sounds the same whether it's in gear or not. confused.

So I have a 650R...You may not win the race in a straight up drag but other bikes have to play catch up. These things have a ton of power and torque with a killer 0-60 time. I beat my friends CBR1000 before the end of this season up to around 90-100 from a dead stop on a freeway entrance ramp
@saucy828 i agree with where you're coming from, i have a 660 single, and it will beat my mates zx10 until around 140~ more torque and launch power at the low end, which is great because i dont need to do more than 200kmh. the occasional 220 is a nice bit of cheek though.
Not trying to tell you what you already know - but be careful leaving the bike with the kickstand down in NEUTRAL. The bike can roll forward slightly, and you have a damaged bike in about 2-3 seconds. Always place it in first gear prior to putting the kickstand down and ensure that it won't roll downhill before getting off the bike. Just a precaution to save your bike. I have the SAME bike but with Arrow exhaust.

to every damned fool insulting the 650R, its not supposed to be the fastest bike out there, but it DOES have plenty of power. and its called 650 because its 650 cc its not a 600. Much better gas mileage with a 2cyl and still plenty fast. Even a ZX10R will get burned by a hayabusa so shut up and realize that speed is not the reason intelligent people get bikes. 650 is very comfortable and an overall amazing bike
@skyline44512 i have an 08 650r. it will keep up with the 600's (r6 zx6r cbr600r) to about 80-90. they just don't have much top end (Twin engine) but i love this bike, i don't need to do 150 :p

The 650 vtwin is a blast because it's torque occurs lower and you can rap it up more without getting a speeding ticket. People that just go off about power are douches and don't really know how to ride.

The 650r is also called er6-f and is a parallel twin 649cc engine. It develops around 70-75hp. Its such a shame to call this bike a "ninja", since its much more of a touring bike. If you want a "race" kawa with around 650cc, get the ZR6. Its an In-line four 599cc engine that develops around 130hp. Thats made for racing. This one's a tourer and a good "learner" bike. I'm for sure getting this soon.

The 650 twins are very manageable for new riders since they only have 60-70hp; much less and more forgiving than the I4 super sports. Though, they are at the upper end of what a new rider should be looking at.

Well said. I have a ER 6F and it is a super torquey machine with lots of guts and will hit 100mph quick enough for me. besides the UK is full of plice speed cameras and sneaky rozzers hiding in the bushes, so speed has to be used with care.

Yeah but this is an fz6. Which is a completely different bike cause an fz6 has an inline 4. and the 650r/ER-6f is parrel twin...BTW the suggestion of a zx-10r also is a big tip off of what a squid you are.

the er6f is a great semi-sports like commuter bike, if i could afford one i would definatly buy one, but yeah, the exhaust sound isthe only thing i hate on them, sounds terrible, this one is ok though.
