  • The tunnel the train backed into and out of is the 2 miles long Victoria tunnel running to Waterloo Dock. It is disused from 1972, built 1848. The track enters the tunnel for a short distance for shunting. The tunnel was to be used for Merseyrail in the 1970s but budget cuts prevented it happening. The tunnel is mothballed for future Merseyrail use.

  • aint seen a class 37 in action since last year at wigan

  • i was lucky i saw it going down to the dock and went to edgehill to wait for it coming back.

  • When did you film this mate?

  • last wednesday 10th july

  • My cousin said this ran that day, and I thought this was from a while ago. Good to see a different 37 running around Edge Hill. 401 has been a bit of a boring sight all over the place now.

  • :) This makes a change.. current material heheh nice classic traction too !! thanks
