@CrYsIsSuisse I'm afraid I haven't played an LX10 so I can't really compare (we don't currently stock Roland), although it looks good from the description on the Roland website. You might want to note that they're discontinued so you might have trouble finding one!
@sevylines Thanks for your comment! If you get a chance to play, you'll feel the difference! The N1 uses real wooden hammers as opposed to metal bars. There are also other differences in tone quality, but the most distinguishing feature is in the touch.
The CLP 480 is designed for a slightly different player, too; it has 38 voices whilst the N1 only has 5. See uk.yamaha.com/en/products/musical-instruments/keyboards/hybridpianos/avantgrand/#tab=PD516582 for more info :)
still has an 'amplified' sound as compared to acoustic, i am sorry but i have studied piano sound for 40 years and know what i'm talking about the partials are not clear
@afertyus1000 Many thanks for your comment. Of course you are right in saying it has an amplified sound; like soya burgers will never taste quite like beef, an amplified piano will never sound quite like one with strings. What we love about the N1 is how close it replicaties the touch and tone of an acoustic. Many customers don't have the space nor the money to maintain a real acoustic. They allow an affordable alternative. Please do come and see for yourself if you're passing by.
@SheehansMusic yes of course i am not running it down as you say not everyone could afford [or want] a top quality acoustic, digitals have come a long way since the 80s and are today comparable to acoustics,i think the best features on them are playback and headphone silent practice variety of instruments and not the need for tuning
@RonanChromy100 Hi Ronan, the piano at 0:53 is the AvantGrand N3; part of the same series as the N1, but a couple of models above. The N3 is the original AvantGrand. See this link for more info! uk.yamaha.com/products/musical-instruments/keyboards/hybridpianos/avantgrand/n3
