I don't remember that far back to say yes or no. And they used the theme for more than 3 yrs, I seem to remember it last playing in 2003.

While I don't doubt that is true that a fan made the vid and added the music, were you watching in 1998, the playoff that the vid covers?? Because I have seen CBC do a wrap-up version for a specific team, the Cup winners, after it's over, only it was shorter and didn't include the middle part. Perhaps it's possible that it did air. I don't remember that far back to say yes or no. And they used the theme for more than 3 yrs, I seem to remember it last playing in 2003.

The overriding meaning of this song is this - When you get to the Cup you want to WIN it because you don't know when you'll get back. Look at Trevor Linden and Pavel Bure, for examples. In 1994, they were the toast of Vancouver and came within two goalposts of winning the Cup.
They never made it back.

Last year and previous years it was pretty much sold out all the time. Since you don't live here, you don't get to see the general public and their interest in sports teams. goblew the most detroit ever won was 2 in a row... Montreal won 5 in a row try that on for size and you didnt even one cup from 1954 to 1997 so u shouldnt speak....i visited Detroit once only remember the bordered up places in downtown and how dirty and ugly that city was

When the Canadians were winning all those Cups, there were considerably fewer teams in the NHL making it easier to win a championship. And say what you want about Detroit, Montreal is filled with a-holes who boo the American national anthem. America kicks ass!

thats true but wasnt Detroit part of the original six?? know your hockey history, a holes are everywhere and god knows USA prob was the most since you are the ones who elected not once but twice and ass like Bush. Detroit is the last city i whould ever live in, a bordered up downtown core and a city that dirty is that my thing....

yeah ur montreal team might have the better history but the wings are have been much better of late. since 95 we have 5 stanley cup appearances and you have zero. we have 4 stanley rings and you have none. i dont want some history lesson from ur retarded ass, just admit it, wings have been a lot better than the canadiens in the last 13 years or so.

as a pens fan i respect the red wings, especially after the final. what made it bitter was how we breezed through the east only to get stonewalled by what seemed to be a near-flawless team defense. your management has adjusted to the post-lockout well.what i think you should take from history is how often the wings are favored to win. you've won 4 in the last 11, but you should have won probably 8 or 9. as wings fan, i assume you know how difficult it is to come out of the west year after year.
