Finally! I've found it! This was on an advert break during a video recording of Private Benjamin and eveytime we watch that film we always watch this one advert (whereas we fast-forward the rest) as it was a favourite of my family back then (I was born in 1991 BTW so don't remember it being on TV). This advert has been stuck in my head for a while now and I couldn't remember what it was (we no longer have a VHS player) and thanks to the power of google I've found it!

Are you sure this advert was 1991? I'm sure that it (or at least earlier very similar ones) was mid-to-late 80s.

Perhaps you're thinking of the one that used the "Robocop Gameboy Music"(!).... "and on and Ariston" that came slightly later.

@NotATube I concur. I also have this advert recorded on an old tape, and that tape is definitely from 1987-88 (it was during the Knightmare/CBBC breaks).

@gokiburi666; possibly- I think the original ad in this series must have been slightly older because I'm sure I was still at primary school at the time. :-)

Also, I remember one line going "their guarantee is five years long... last one past 1991..." implying it went out in '86. That obviously would have dated, and this version doesn't include it, suggesting that you're probably right it went out in '87-'88. (^_^)

1 cool advert. I remember it very well. I thought the special effects with the clothes and underwear etc were a bit bizzare though! I still enjoy it after all these years. PS..My sister has an ariston margherita also!!!
