Captain Rainbow 3 Year Anniversary Tribute

Captain Rainbow is one of my most wanted games. Hopefully we'll at least get him playable in Smash Bros, but I wish Nintendo would just eliminate the region-locking bs and work with localization teams from day 1 so all their games can be released worldwide. Chibi-Robo is one of my all-time favorite games, and it pisses me off that I can't play Giftpia, Captain Rainbow or Chibi-Robo 3 in English. Not to mention Zangeki No Reginleiv, Soma Bringer, Tomato Adventure, ASH and Starfy 1-4...

This is not one of the best looking Wii games. It is one of the graphically best games ever made! I'm blown away by it and I haven't even played it.

Dayum, I made this whole thing into a one comment, but I'm quite impressed of your review on this, actually, it told me so much new things about the game.

It's still super ironic how this game features "overlooking/obscureness" as it's theme, yet it's more overlooked and obscure than that. (-l_l-);

Swell done though, I'm very happy there's more huge fans of this game, I once got to talk at one artist in Pixiv who really loves Captain Rainbow and draws lots of (quality) fanart of it.

Have you ever researched Moon: Remix RPG Adventure? It was a game made Skip, before they were known as Skip. It has alot of what you described in here, but instead of Nintendo characters, it's more of a 16-bit RPG parody/homage. I highly recommend you check that out if you liked this, because it really is just as amazing. :)

I knew of this game before, but didn't pay much attention to it. Everything you described sounds like my ideal game. I really want to play it. Of course, Nintendo of America's stupidity prevails once again.

Sadly when this game first got any mention, most people initially dismissed the game (much like you did).... for various reasons.... some barely considered it a game. Others just complained that the game was "gay" (literally some people thought the main character was gay, and was about that) and others complained that the game was colourful and kiddy.

When people do this, why would Nintendowant to localize the game? Don't blame Nintendo, blame western cultures close minded ways.

And hell yes! I'm totaly down for some C. Rainbow! Now if only Nintendo would release Pikmin 2 NPC in NA....I'll never forgive Nintendo for that one. Pikmin NPC was fantastic, and Pikmin 2 just looks even more brilliant. Yet I just don't think i could settle for the Gamecube's analog controls as it would feel far less intuitive, not as fun and well...clunky. But for now, it looks like it's my only resort. eek!

Daaammn, this looks like an outstanding game, It's a shame Nintendo of America doesn't value hardcore gamers like myself. It looks like we'll be seeing the localization of "Pro Backyard Sports" pretty soon, rather than amazing games like this, Mother 3, Xenoblade, Pandora's Tower, etc. If the opportunity to play this game in English ever comes, I will take it, even if it's illegal. And I have yet to see a valid justification for how linearity is a bad thing. Yeah, just Japan unfortunately. Nintendo of America has been pretty terrible about localizing games for the Wii.

Yup. The Wii is region locked. Your only "LEGAL" option to be able to play the game is to get a Japanese Wii. And even then that's probably a waste of time and money if you can't read Japanese. Captain Rainbow is pretty text-heavy.
