Saba is one of my fav wildlife presenters alongside Fergus Beeley and Steve Backshall. I was quite suprised to hear that she survived a snake bite at the age of 18 since she seemed so sensible. If she had been one of those who have died from such a bite then she would not be here now with that black leather vest and long poneytail. Now I see her as quite a crazy woman as she allows her feet to be a bare, making them all muddy everytime i see her.

This male, called Blondie, was one of the Marsh Pride of Lions ruler (Masai Mara Kenya). Srar of the Big Cat Diary BBC series. And this Saba Douglas-Hamilton who joined the team. It was in 2002. The lovers and fans of the series certainly remembered Blondie.

I've also stood within 3 feet of a male lion once as a child. The roar was so loud my whole body shook and the ringing in my ear lasted the entire day. It almost sounded like a Mack truck starting up. Only much much louder!

I think sometimes people that interact with animals face to face tend to understand them better though. There's a difference between seeing an animal on a video than in person. In the video, things are edited to show you only the parts the creator of the video wants you to see. You can't be that naive customsongmaker. Come on.
Maybe the lion though was actually saying "Glad to know you are leaving my territory and stay out!" It's still a way of saying good bye.

She might be the only woman who cried FROM JOY when a lion approached and roared directly at her. The saddest part is how surprised she would have been if the lion had attacked her. "My friend the lion came to say goodbye to me, and something must have upset him because he tore my arm off. Maybe someone told him I was dangerous? He's not usually like that, I forgive him."
Oh yes, because a group of professionals can't tell when an animal is feeling threatened or uncomfortable. I mean, people who's life work goes into documenting animals are so stupid when it comes to reading obvious signs the animals display!
