  • Check out my vid , type in " Homemade plow using free or inexpensive items "

  • i got me a 12 volt outlet from walmart and a yellow light. hooked it all up and works really good....i got the same light as you

  • haha there ya go!

  • got a question....how do you power that yellow light? please reply thanks

  • i got a kit from deere that was a 12v outlet and a fuse, the light is just powered by a 12v outlet

  • good to know cuz i have the same tractor and people fly up and down our road even if its icy....just out of curiousity how much did everything run you?

  • just about everything was scrap, the actuator was bout 200, and light bout 20, and 12v kit i think was around 10 or 15,

i bout the actuator for many uses, not just a plow

  • Thats really cool. I almost built a blade for my John Deere L118 but decided to buy a 4wd Yanmar Diesel tractor instead to climb our steep driveway. I have a rear blade and a boxblade along with several other implements. i just need it to snow now.

  • Oh, how much did you end up spending in the end?

  • about $200 for the actuator and that was it, the rest was scrap

  • you sould make one out of steel

and if bending the steel plate is a problem

just cut a old water heater tank in half and build a mounting frame and your good to go

  • i thought about it, but i dont have the tools to make it out of steel

  • that sucks

  • hey how did you get it to raise and lower like that?

  • those are not donuts, the mini burn out was ok

  • that wood is gonna get very soggy, use a plastic or metal next time

  • actually no it wont get soggy, it's a special type of wood

i change it once every season with no problems at all

i just added a door threshold for the blade part

  • o, nice

  • paint the wood in waste oil let it bake in teh sun do it like 4 times in the summer and then paint over it with black tremclad.. itll last 2 or 3 seasons..

  • thanks ill be sure to try it

  • what is that in 0:03 for a black thing and how do you work with it is it a hydraulik pump or is it a elektropump or what else and how do you use this to pull the snow plow up and down

  • its called a linear actuator, i put a switch on the dash that raises it up and down. it is powered off the 12v battery directly
