  • At 1:00-Turn volume up to her Mr. Softee Truck in the background. Must have been a warm day.

  • Hey Swift.. the 3d glasses killed me man.... mad love for what you & the crew have done for the Art of turntablism over the years & what you're still doing. At least there are some out there still putting on a show. I think you should take over the next DMC & show the suckers how it should be done again.

    RIP Roc Raida

    One love Brummy

  • @brummygaz Man, I'm retired from battling, LOL. My focus these days to show the world how relevant our art form is. That being said, to you my friend, I say thank you for the kind words. It means a lot!

  • Also gotta say bro, you killed it on Akinyele's Vagina Diner album. Some of the best cutting on an LP ever.

  • @MurderToCassette what up homey? Thanks for the "Vagina Diner" props! I plan on uploading new video in the coming months so please stay tuned.

  • Huge ups man, super appreciate you uploading this! 2 legends for sure

    RIP Roc Raida

  • @MurderToCassette Thank you! More throwback video to come...

  • superbad!

  • Man, if it wasn't for you and the Legendary X, I would have never decided to hop behind the wheels of steel myself. You guys inspired everything behind my love for battle dj'ing. You Rob, are a pioneer of the game. You keep doing your part, and me and the younger generation will do ours, to help bring back that funk and soul into turntablism. Rob, your my hero and favorite DJ. And i will never stop practicing this beautiful art, thanks to you. Mad Respect.

  • @DjBumTheHobo Hey friend! Thanks so much for the kind words. My goal when I started DJing was never to win a world title. All I wanted out of this was for folks like yourself to think "That guy Rob Swift is dope". When I read comments like yours, I'm reminded I've accomplished my goal. Peace to you and thanks again!

  • classik video !!!!! thanks ROB !!

Now, The Turntablist Culture is dead...

  • @jcm88 Man, I hate to think it's "dead". It definitely has drastically change. For as long as I'm alive I'll do my part to bring it back to the golden age though.

  • @jcm88 It's not dead!! =)

  • DJ Scratch is the reason I started DJing, watching DJ Rob Swift's routines lets me know I can never stop improving my skills!

  • @djchuckboogie Stay a student of whatever you love and you'll never stop growing or getting better!

  • @djrobswift Damn I feel like a 10 year old girl and Justin Bieber just gave me a shout out. I'm not in awww of most people at all. I've meet more than a few celebrities in my time and I was never fazed by it, but for one of the best to every do it on the the turntables to take the time of his day to response to me is a beautiful thing. It's funny because I just got done watching "As The Technics Spin" again before I saw DJ Rob Swift's reply. You sir are a LEGEND!

  • @djchuckboogie Hey man, I feel the same gratitude when folks like yourself take the time to visit my youtube page and comment on my videos. Your support means the world. I would be who I am today if it wasn't you and others like you sending me positive energy. Peace Chuck!

  • Watching old X-Men home videos is like watching Extra P, Pete Rock, Primo and Q-Tip in the studio working on Illmatic - it's just as classic for hip hop as that. X-Men embody that 90's funk, boom bap, showmanship and flavor that is missing from DJaying / turntablism and music in general today. No matter how technical and crazy you get, if you don't have that soul that the X-Men had, it's not gonna sound right. You have to be able to bop to music, not just stare at someone doing it.

  • @Fnkychld Hey man. I really appreciate your comment. I'm so honored to be mentioned in the same paragraph as Extra P, Pete Rock, Premo and Tip. I really am. This comment made my day and let's me know I've been on the right path all this time. Peace.

  • The cost of that towel is a fortune! ;)

  • @djbodyrawk That towel cost about $1.99

  • @djrobswift still better than a shamwow! ;)

  • Haha it was a pleasure @djrobswift please come do some uk shows when you can. Don't stop doing your thing

  • Thank you for this Rob! I still get chills every time I come across one of your guys sets. I remember the first time I heard all of you together and while I never could find success in DJ'ing it had a major impact on my love of music and how it could be distorted and altered. RIP Grand Master Roc Raida and God Bless the X-Men forever. Thanks Rob!

  • @ruleridivine Thank YOU for dropping by my page and taking the time to view this video. It's much appreciated!

  • thank for sharing rob, it got me all hyped! timing on the towel move + room reaction = amped

  • @grapla I really miss these days. Raida, myself and the rest of the X-men would get together on the weekends and battle each other for T shirts LOL!

  • Thank you Rob and R.I.P. to GM Roc Raida!

  • @ThatsMrTimex2You Thank YOU!
