Hey Swift.. the 3d glasses killed me man.... mad love for what you & the crew have done for the Art of turntablism over the years & what you're still doing. At least there are some out there still putting on a show. I think you should take over the next DMC & show the suckers how it should be done again.
@brummygaz Man, I'm retired from battling, LOL. My focus these days to show the world how relevant our art form is. That being said, to you my friend, I say thank you for the kind words. It means a lot!
Man, if it wasn't for you and the Legendary X, I would have never decided to hop behind the wheels of steel myself. You guys inspired everything behind my love for battle dj'ing. You Rob, are a pioneer of the game. You keep doing your part, and me and the younger generation will do ours, to help bring back that funk and soul into turntablism. Rob, your my hero and favorite DJ. And i will never stop practicing this beautiful art, thanks to you. Mad Respect.
@DjBumTheHobo Hey friend! Thanks so much for the kind words. My goal when I started DJing was never to win a world title. All I wanted out of this was for folks like yourself to think "That guy Rob Swift is dope". When I read comments like yours, I'm reminded I've accomplished my goal. Peace to you and thanks again!
@jcm88 Man, I hate to think it's "dead". It definitely has drastically change. For as long as I'm alive I'll do my part to bring it back to the golden age though.
@djrobswift Damn I feel like a 10 year old girl and Justin Bieber just gave me a shout out. I'm not in awww of most people at all. I've meet more than a few celebrities in my time and I was never fazed by it, but for one of the best to every do it on the the turntables to take the time of his day to response to me is a beautiful thing. It's funny because I just got done watching "As The Technics Spin" again before I saw DJ Rob Swift's reply. You sir are a LEGEND!
@djchuckboogie Hey man, I feel the same gratitude when folks like yourself take the time to visit my youtube page and comment on my videos. Your support means the world. I would be who I am today if it wasn't you and others like you sending me positive energy. Peace Chuck!
Watching old X-Men home videos is like watching Extra P, Pete Rock, Primo and Q-Tip in the studio working on Illmatic - it's just as classic for hip hop as that. X-Men embody that 90's funk, boom bap, showmanship and flavor that is missing from DJaying / turntablism and music in general today. No matter how technical and crazy you get, if you don't have that soul that the X-Men had, it's not gonna sound right. You have to be able to bop to music, not just stare at someone doing it.
@Fnkychld Hey man. I really appreciate your comment. I'm so honored to be mentioned in the same paragraph as Extra P, Pete Rock, Premo and Tip. I really am. This comment made my day and let's me know I've been on the right path all this time. Peace.
Thank you for this Rob! I still get chills every time I come across one of your guys sets. I remember the first time I heard all of you together and while I never could find success in DJ'ing it had a major impact on my love of music and how it could be distorted and altered. RIP Grand Master Roc Raida and God Bless the X-Men forever. Thanks Rob!
@djrobswift PURE RAW TALENT, You and the x-cutioners R.I.P Roc RAIDA were the reason i decided to buy two turntables and a mixer and begin turntablist. Truely a inspiration to me, many others and the world of turntablist
@djrobswift Thank you for posting this! I still have photos of y'all from the Scratch tour in DC (2003) I was at the front the stage. Y'all killed it that night.
