I believe this beats the "official" world record - which was done with just over 10 inches space (27cm) and required the driver to "handbrake slide" in (and didn't get as neatly aligned to the curb as your dad!). Very impressive :D

Not in this case, but it's a clever trick to see the car's reflection in shop windows. Cool if people are watching, when you stop 1" away from the cars in front and rear. I guess us guys are good for something! And the steering parts on power steer cars are built slighter stronger/bigger for a reason.

This is great. I would be interested to know if he is using a certain method (such as watching for a point on his car to line up with a point on one of the other cars or the kerb before making a particular turn) or does he do it all by feel?

Also, is it possible to get out of this space afterwards?

he says its after years of driving lorrys, and also parking up our street has always been hectic...so just by feel..and yes its possible to get out afterwards, hes at work for 4am so other cars are still there :)
