I believe this beats the "official" world record - which was done with just over 10 inches space (27cm) and required the driver to "handbrake slide" in (and didn't get as neatly aligned to the curb as your dad!). Very impressive :D
I have never got the hang of reverse parking, it makes me feel worse that some people can do it so well. I need about a clear road before I even attempt it!!!
Not in this case, but it's a clever trick to see the car's reflection in shop windows. Cool if people are watching, when you stop 1" away from the cars in front and rear. I guess us guys are good for something! And the steering parts on power steer cars are built slighter stronger/bigger for a reason.
This is great. I would be interested to know if he is using a certain method (such as watching for a point on his car to line up with a point on one of the other cars or the kerb before making a particular turn) or does he do it all by feel?
Also, is it possible to get out of this space afterwards?
he says its after years of driving lorrys, and also parking up our street has always been hectic...so just by feel..and yes its possible to get out afterwards, hes at work for 4am so other cars are still there :)
I've had to do this a few times in the city. It's nerve wracking in heavy traffic with a bunch of cars waiting behind you and tons of people watching you.
my cousin did one in the states, with 2 inches at the back and half of an inch at the front, not to mention it took him heaps of minutes. it was 4th of july...streets were packed.
Id be pissed if,someone did that infront of me lol

Not sure but It looked like they were steering while the car was stationary which isn't good for it.

yyea but during maneuvering he probably hit those cars several times. the camera didnt show this.
V8TC 4 years ago
didnt hit the car once, his bumper pushed the number plate in by about a tenth of a millimeter on the car in front and that was it!
