  • Is that the large cylinder to the left of the building is a tank of sprinkler water?

    why the alarms are activated? there are a fire? And is that the sprinklers were activated? Thanks for answer!

    I actually am not 100% sure what the tank is for. I think it is apart of the HVAC system. This building is a chiller station that distributes energy and the heating and cooling for some of the buildings around campus.

    I also never found out why the fire alarms were activated nor do not know if any sprinklers were activated in this alarm event.

    As a general comment I don't think that sprinkler water would be stored in a tank that size rather in pipes or other external source.

  • They chill water for air handling units in the buildings for air conditioning with huge refrigeration machinery.
