It's weird. I have a bit of cree in me and I'm taking First Nations Studies right now and I'll be taking a course in First Nations support. It's just weird I'd hear this song at such a significant time in my life.
Ok, I concede a little surprise and thanks for respect-first time I've heard a fast song concerning the two (four, because of 2 more Wounded Knees than people know about) most tragic United States of America events concerning Native Americans...
Did you the only reason the Trail of Tears happened was because Jackson ignored a descion by the Supreme Court. The desion, Cheroke Nation v. Georga and Worcaster v. Georga, said that the Cherokees were legally allowed to stay on their land.
But Jackson was an Indian fighter, and a major bigot. So the Cherokees were sent, and Jackson disobeyed a Supreme Court ruling only because they couldn't back it up.
He must have had lead poisoning from all those bullets.
@Daciana93 Yes, the Cherokee (I think) were exiled from their lands by the white men a long time ago. It was a bad bad time, and thousands of them died on the way.

@retrothefox the Choctaw actually. some tribes and members went before hand and got choice land for there reservation, but most of the Choctaw got forced out and died. my ancestors are from both sides, the Choctaw, and the soldiers.

This has to be one of my favorite songs by Heather Dale. It's got that Celtic feel with a bit of southern fried rock in it! Totally perfect!
