  • This cadenza is in the Dover edition, I agree it is complete awesome. There were a few composers who wrote cadenzas to Mozart, including Beethoven and Brahms. atm I can' remember which this is. >.<

  • @Cancrizans Actually I am totally wrong here...this cadenza is I believe Malcolm Bilson's own cadenza, was confusing this with another one my bad!

  • This cadenza is sooo awesome...

  • who is playing?? this is outstanding!

  • @Appassionata90 dude look at d vids name!!! its mozart

  • René Jacob – doing comparison with visual arts – tells baroque instruments are more suitable to draw, but the modern ones are more to paint. It's awful how many little details that version reveals to me. Beautiful. ♡♡♡

  • Got to love Mozzer!

  • @pmfnr lol you said mozzer

  • I thought cadenzas were supposed to be improvised.

  • @Sakkura1 Ya not since like the 18th century hee hee.

  • I hear the first three notes and I think "Uh-Oh, Darth Vader"

  • It's a great cadenza , you know I would have loved to see mozzy perform this. It must of been out of this world wow

  • Love the sound of a Forte piano (A) truely love it

  • High clarinet in the texture (4.56 to 5.04) almost sounds like a high organ note. Anyone else get that impression?

  • @ilkinond

I do :D you are right, it sounds like!

  • this is called to be an operatic piano concerto

  • @Jeroenbinky you are completly wrong. they are written as part of the score. It's optional if the soloist plays that or other than original.

  • 4:27 - 4:50 gives me goosebumps

  • full of aggressive passion

  • @jeunehomme9 so is this the cadenza Mozart wrote? I can only find Brahm's, Hummel's even faure's(which soooo sounds nothing like Mozart haha) I think Hummel might work best but I can't actually get the sheet music.

  • @cedricrlongreen mozart didn't write out a cadenza for this movement

  • @cerpintaxt815 oh : ( what's the most commonly used cadenza?

  • @Jeroenbinky How am I wrong when I said it was original?

and Mozart did write cadenzas for some of his concerti.

  • who's cadenza is this?

  • sounds original

  • May I inquire: why always this apparently non-Mozart visual of the composer? Isn't this the painting done some thirty years after 1791 by someone who had only met him briefly? It's like some kind of French-British pretty-boy iconic teen-idol poster.

  • Personally I rarely pay attention to the visual in a video, I'm grateful enough for the music alone. But now that you've brought it up, I think it's a good portrait of Mozart, probably not true likeness of the man, but it has grace, calmness and a hint of mischiveouness, just like his music.

  • I have seen that descriptive phrase somewhere - it's on the tip of my tongue- let's see, hmm...

  • um...so? it's a pretty common way to describe Mozart's music, don't you think?

  • @comic4relief It is believed to be the painting resembling Mozart the most, actually. Although postume. Painted by Barbara Krafft, who I believe is about only famous for this picture.

  • This is where the first movement gets even better.
