i agree, i have the I 10K and if you sold it and went back to the IMax 2000 you are the fool !!! lol
the 10K is the best omni made right now with acception to the old super penatrator 500. the penatrator is the best of the best... but the 10K is next best !!!
All Im saying is do not buy into the hype that the i10k will out perform any 5/8 or .64 omni on the market because it will not. Will it out last any antenna on the market? Yes it will. My opinion is, if im going to spend 400 bucks on an antenna, its going to have to out perform the 92 dollar imax I already have. Take the 400 bucks and buy a good beam.
3 db gain vs 2.9 db gain. Read Tech 888 review on the copper forum. You wont tell a difference in transmit or receive. The I Max is designed to, as you say "bend in half" in high winds. Thats why it dosent ever break. Mine had 2 inches of ice on it for two weeks and was bent in the shape of a U. Ice melted and it stood right back up. If you got money to burn, the 10k is the antenna for you. If you want a good omni for only 92 bucks, the imax is the one you want.
I would like to get rid of my imax and get a mr coily enforcer or a interceptor 10k....nice antenna my friend....I am sick of these fiber glass antennas.
There is No better 5/8 wave groundplane 11 meter/cb antenna..that 30 mph is nothing...mine was in 70 easy.. was also 2 near miss tornados..and it still held up great .. although i also have it guy wired.. When i talk skip on it,most in skip land accuse me of using 1 3 or 4 element beam...lol...my I-10K with my IC7000 work Great together
Above all very respectful greetings from Venezuela. I am writing because I am interested in this type of antenna. Would you please send me the conceptual design of the antenna, to make it produce it myself.
Thank you very much in advance. This is my E-mail novaraf@hotmail.com Any information you have about hasmela please come to my e-mail.
@jbevins77 I think it depends on how well it is built. I can't speak for the IMAX but I know the A99 had a lot of power losses in the coils. My other 1/2 wave Ham International antenna was the same size but performed about 1.5 to 2 S units better than the A99 did.
@JohnMatrix89 I agree, the antron 99 does have loss. Read Paul Shin's article on the internet titled "antron 99 exposed". The antron is fed by small heavy loss rg58 coax up to the coil. Its also just a half wave antenna. The imax 2000 is fed by low loss dual shield rg213 and is .64 wave antenna. Its not even apples to apples when you compare the antron to the imax.
Well remember that the imax bends more because it has more flexibility, if the wind hits really hard a less flexible antenna can snap instead of just bending.
How much more do one of these cost? And is the price gap even worth the difference? Or is it just one or two S units that you get more?
Can anyone tell me how in the sweet name of Jesus you get one of these things? I have sent emails, tried to call Jay in the Mojave dozens of times and I get no response. I'd really like to get one of these I-10k antennas, but I am having no luck making contact. Suggestions or help?
Actually, I didn't see any difference on the signal meter at all versus my IMAX 2000.. So I took mine down and sold it for another fool. I was surprised that the cheap IMAX 2000 had the same signal..
If you like alot of static, your antenna bending almost in half in this wind, and a cheaply made antenna then stick with the IMAX!! I know that this antenna works alot better for me on my RCI 2995. SWRs are alot better also. Plus this antenna blew the IMAX away when skip was in.
I have an I-10k mounted at about 100 feet and it blows away the Imax2k that I had mounted at the same height. Best antenna I've ever used, and DEFINITELY worth the price.
My Interceptor is about 25 ft. high. First I have a 10foot pole cemented in the ground, then a 5ft.,then another 10ft.pole theat is stable by a chimney mount. It works good.
Well Interceptor is better in alot of ways. Better recieve also everyone tells me that they hear me better also. I have a RCI 2995 and I am very glad I did change to the Interceptor. Plus When I hear someone,I do not hear the extra static I heard with the Imax.

I think, the Interceptor looks like the old golden Penetrator from Hy-Gain. It was the best 5/8 Antenna ever build. Superrrrrr!!!!

Interceptor 10K...a BS antenna made by a BS CB fool.

@TheUncleDougger I wouldnt say that. Its built to last forever but will not out perform any 5/8 or .64 wave antenna. Metal or fiberglass.

@kufbass I call bullshit. I talk alot of skip on my imax with gpk1. there is not difference between 3 db gain and 2.9

@scott231us See what happens when your IMAX gets hit by lightning!
I've got a Penetrator 500 that has been hit direct, it's still in use. There's a reason why aluminum antennas sell for more and are better for use.
