@thtkidnick7 The catholic church is an ignorant organization that harms millions of people around the world. It is the duty of every moral person to point out its falsehoods and to attempt to lessen its power in politics. The abuse of children by priests and the church's cover-up is the biggest indicator of its negative influence. So if catholics want to pray, let them but I will never condone their false and destructive role in creating suffering among so many in the name of God.
@tonygem yeah 2000 years to back it up and now we have a genius among us to tell us the truth...please share with us your wisdom oh wise one...LOL...what a joke.
@sirensbane17 you know what. i have lost my patience. catholic bashing is all too common. and some people only understand sarcasm, so i return it back to them.
@oakking1 I know it's easy to lose patience or get frustrated, but Christ calls us to love others always ("Pray for those who persecute you...") From personal experience, I know that anger and impatience only bring bitterness. Prayer, on the other hand, has a positive effect. Maybe say a short prayer every time you hear someone bashing the Church or every time that someone makes you angry?
The more I feel I understand the priesthood, the more upset I get over sexually abusive priests, and the bishops who tried to cover it up.
But, the power of the priesthood is so enduring, that not even the most sadistic or perverted priest can never stop being a priest. He may lose his position or become defrocked, but his priesthood remains. He is a priest forever, no matter what. This is the power of the sacrament. This is the power of Christ and of His Bride, the Roman Catholic Church.
@DHG707 I think it is very important that all people pay close attention to this dangerous organization (the catholic church), so I watch what I can to see how it is influencing our culture and world. I also do what little I can to speak the truth about it so it hopefully will have less and less power in politics and media. Now many catholics are leaving the church, and to me, that is a good thing.
@DHG707 Deceived? You're the one who is being deceived. In the USA alone over 30 million catholics have left the church in the last 20 years. In France and Germany the numbers are much greater. After all there is a reason why the German pope has begun the "Evangelization" movement in Europe. Of course it is hard to talk with catholics who are ignorant about their own faith.
@tonygem Please also pay attention to the negative impact on the world from other things; materialism and selfishness ultimately cause more problems. Those people who do evil in the name of the God are not following the teachings of the Church. That is not to say there are not problems, but there is a great deal of good done by Catholics as well.
"Who is going to administer the sacraments for the next generation"... The words that prompted my saying, "Ok, Lord. Here I am. Make me what you will."

I can't wait to eneter the seminary. I can't wait to be ordained and e able to go up on the altar say the mass and transform the bread and wine into the body and blood of Jesus Christ. I can't think of a more holy calling or a better way to spend my life then in the service of Christ's holy Catholic Church.
@79743618 you too? I am joining the Franciscans of the immaculate on 8-2-10! look their vocation video up here it's called "Franciscan friars vocation" look for one with a monk with a broom in his hand.
@cheesemonkey1990 Hopfully I will be I have to pass the admissions board for the Priests of the Sacred heart on June 11. Im extremly nervous about it. But I am very happy for you.

@79743618 I couldn't have said it better myself. I tend to be more drawn to the traditional more strict observances of the original ruleswritten for these orders, usually by saints (jesuits, OP, OFM, O.Carm, etc). The Ascetic orders are beautiful too but most certainly not for everyone! (benedictines, Cartusian/Trapists, etc).

@79743618 true. Yeah, during WWII He wanted to be a Carmelite, but the weren't taking aplications. during the War he was aked by the Archbishop to join seminary. He accepted and after the way asked permission to leave and join a carmelite monastery, the Bishop told him he was too useful and charismatic to be in a monastery and said no.
To be fair, what are we seeing and hearing here? Music and profound words? What is so great about this video? I go to a CC church and only hear everything watered down at the pulpit. The message of Jesus Christ was the good news and the call to repentance. I hear nether. Maybe why everything has gone to the favor of satan.
This is a vocations video, for one. By CC, I think you mean Church of Christ, right?
Well... Repentance means "change of heart", not the confession of sin. It's renouncing the worldly self. It's giving up the worldly for the heavenly. And you definitely see that here. Isn't that good news?
Also, I challenge you to have prudence and humility when approaching other denominations. Christ is not exclusive. That, my christian brother, is the devil.
HOLY REVOLVING FETUSES, BATMAN! The Catholics have learned to bend time to their will! it is time to gather the Jesuits and form the Social Justice League!
because it "is a service and live (and body) of our Lord"
You must be a man (!), because jesus was a man too! We need no more abstraction which makes the face of the true person and true God more unrecognizable and takes from him with it his strength.
@eddyc09 do you realize your ignorant to the fact that you contridict your self by even watching and then commenting on this video. I have words for you but you know what im not going to bother because God wouldn't want me to treat you in a bad way so i shall not. Maybe God is not real but anything that brings millions of people together is a good thing. Anything you say can not tear apart that bound that we all have because we believe in god and he is a universal truth
Let me make sure I understand this... you're in school and you've got it all figured out? All the priests are brainwashed... the Pope, some of the wisest through the years like Thomas Aquinas and St. Francis. You've been on this earth less than two decades and know better than all of them? Now that's something to laugh about.
Let us pray to the Holy Spirit for the holy, apostolic, orthodox, catholic Faith, that the Latin Church and all the Eastern Churches may be fully united. Pax tecum. ;-)
Why is it considered sexist to think a women can't do something a man can? If you a women told me a man that I couldn't be something I wouldn't complain. Certain roles for certain people. It's not disrespectful, it's not sexist. It's the faith and just how it is.
This is very touching when you really think about it. God Bless you!
btw: Women cannot be priests for the simple fact that Jesus called the first disciple Simon Peter to be a priest and to build his church. But being a nun, for the girls, is rewarding too.
some people may argue. "But women weren't respected in society enough to be listened to in that time." 12 fishermen from Galilee weren't any better, and when did Jesus care what society thought?
Let us be leaders in the church, let us lead prayer, please stop giving women such a passive role. We as catholics and humanity cannot afford to be an all males club any longer.
like donboscofan said, women don't have a passive role in the Church. everyone has a different vocation. Not all men are called to be priests, not all women nuns. But there are differences in the way a man and a woman should live. Still, God Bless you!
What about women? We are being completely excluded. Is being a Christian a club exclusive for males only, b/c this is how this movie trailer is portraying a group of ppl who want to follow Christ. If the message of this movie is to recruit ppl to save Christianity most importantly Catholicism than the Vatican needs to open their doors to women who do not want to have passive roles in the church.
Women do not have passive roles in the Church, they ARE the church. They are held in the highest esteem with in the Church. This film, is talking about PRIESTLY vocations, which is reserved for men only. Because Christ chose men to be his Apostles. Look at how we honor Mary, our Mother, Queen of Heaven and of Earth. Women are not discarded they are the ones who nurture, and sustain the life of the the church, by their roles as mothers, and caretakers of the young, old, and every one in between.
i am not a woman. i think that women should (and never will be) ordained. but i have heard it said that women are the "crown of creation" or something like that...I think its in some church document. As well, I don't think it is fair to say that women "ARE" the Church. I think they "ARE" the Church as much as men "ARE". God Bless you!
The priesthood is male..PRIEST is a masculine word. and every priest, he is in Persona Christi, which mean the person of Christ. Is the role of Mary not good enough for you? And as we are on the subject of priests, there were no women, not even his own mother when Christ instituted the first Mass. If Our Lord wanted women to be priests, he would have ordained them, but he did not. There were 12 Apostles, which were all men, and they are the first Bishops. You can be a nun.
Not really: to stand in the person of Christ and to be an Alter christus we must be male... Besides we would be over stepping our boundaries by ordaining women, Jesus appointed only men to be apostles. BTW: Who was the greatest human being to ever live or who will ever live? -Mary-
@cheesemonkey1990 You got it, cheesemonkey: the priesthood is for men only. Jesus was the Son of Man as well as the Son of God the Father. The PSEUDO-CHURCHES who ordain women are showing their true colors: they are frauds and creations of men and men's whims. The only Churches today who do not ordain women are the Catholics and the Orthodox.
@Garbanzo884 I think the bottom line is that it is not that we have the authority to say no, it is that we DON"T have the authority to say Yes. In doing so we are over stepping our boundaries.
Society tends to mess up the meaning of "equality" and "equity." God gives certain gifts to men. He gives others to women. Each are unique to the respective sex. Each make them who they are. To try to take one from the other, to try to blur the lines of distinction is to detract from the respective dignities of men and women.
@HaloNoobNarutofan ....That's what I thought. uhhh Yeah. It's Jesus. It's heretical to say it's Mary. Let's not get too Marian. But, under God, Mary is the queen. Mary is a good example. What humility it takes to say, "Lord, I get that you do not want me to be a priest. it is not my want that is important, but your want for me."
Doors are open to women as a nun. And guys can't be a nun. Look how much we respect and honor, mother Teresa and Holy Virgin Mary. There are differents jobs within the church. God loves you no matter who you are.
Us men can complain about not being able to become a nun, but we don't. Again there are different roles within the Catholic church. However in Protestant churches there aren't any nun, but women are allowed to beome pastors.
Yes, but who has the truth and follows what Christ does and has said to do? Jesus choose 12 men for the start of the Church and it's always been men and will always be. Also Mother Angelica on EWTN said, "Do you know why women can not be priests? Because they like to gossip.' One thing about being a priest; is not to tell the other person's sins.
@ihavenolife86 Jesus himself established that the priesthood was a role exclusivly for men, no Pope can change what Jesus himself laid down. Women have a particular role to play in the Church, just not at the Altar.
Well done, I am glad the Catholic Bishops have found a way to cut across the noise in our culture to directly address to our young American men the question, "will you follow Him?"
I am in the military and have long considered a vocation. I am trying now to faithfully determine which path the Lord is leading me down. I believe the two paths can be reconciled (i.e. chaplain), but have a lot yet to figure out and hear from the Lord. Please pray for me. Thank you and God bless
I'm praying that after I finish college I will enter the Priestly Fraternity of St. Peter's seminary...please keep me in your prayers! This video is such an inspiration.

I for my instance would think its more necessary to put this poor boy into a held steady position and other first aid after an accident. His body shaking causes him to loose more and more blood so he dies earlier.
Yes, dies EARLIER. But the gift of life, of recieving grace at the hour of death, is far more valuable at those last moments than a few extra moments of life.
Well done, sir! You have presented the priesthood from a very postitive perspective. One that, sadly, is not appreciated by many people. Keep up the good work. I will pray that God will continue to bless your good work.

This is really a great video, i am considering becoming a priest and this video really pushed me on. I Pray to God to give me in this journey.

This is very touching when you really think about it. God Bless you!
btw: Women cannot be priests for the simple fact that Jesus called the first disciple Simon Peter to be a priest and to build his church. But being a nun, for the girls, is rewarding too.
Lozo953Girl 2 years ago
some people may argue. "But women weren't respected in society enough to be listened to in that time." 12 fishermen from Galilee weren't any better, and when did Jesus care what society thought?
God Bless you.

i'm so grateful for the priesthood, to be able to experience Christ in the sacraments is such a great Grace from God. God Bless our priests!!

Let us be leaders in the church, let us lead prayer, please stop giving women such a passive role. We as catholics and humanity cannot afford to be an all males club any longer.
ihavenolife86 2 years ago
like donboscofan said, women don't have a passive role in the Church. everyone has a different vocation. Not all men are called to be priests, not all women nuns. But there are differences in the way a man and a woman should live. Still, God Bless you!
jbenvenga 2 years ago 5
What about women? We are being completely excluded. Is being a Christian a club exclusive for males only, b/c this is how this movie trailer is portraying a group of ppl who want to follow Christ. If the message of this movie is to recruit ppl to save Christianity most importantly Catholicism than the Vatican needs to open their doors to women who do not want to have passive roles in the church.
ihavenolife86 2 years ago

God Bless you!
jbenvenga 2 years ago
The priesthood is male..PRIEST is a masculine word. and every priest, he is in Persona Christi, which mean the person of Christ. Is the role of Mary not good enough for you? And as we are on the subject of priests, there were no women, not even his own mother when Christ instituted the first Mass. If Our Lord wanted women to be priests, he would have ordained them, but he did not. There were 12 Apostles, which were all men, and they are the first Bishops. You can be a nun.
cks125 2 years ago
Not really: to stand in the person of Christ and to be an Alter christus we must be male... Besides we would be over stepping our boundaries by ordaining women, Jesus appointed only men to be apostles. BTW: Who was the greatest human being to ever live or who will ever live? -Mary-
cheesemonkey1990 2 years ago 50
@cheesemonkey1990 You got it, cheesemonkey: the priesthood is for men only. Jesus was the Son of Man as well as the Son of God the Father. The PSEUDO-CHURCHES who ordain women are showing their true colors: they are frauds and creations of men and men's whims. The only Churches today who do not ordain women are the Catholics and the Orthodox.
Garbanzo884 1 year ago
@Garbanzo884 I think the bottom line is that it is not that we have the authority to say no, it is that we DON"T have the authority to say Yes. In doing so we are over stepping our boundaries.
cheesemonkey1990 1 year ago
@cheesemonkey1990 AMEN!!!
Society tends to mess up the meaning of "equality" and "equity." God gives certain gifts to men. He gives others to women. Each are unique to the respective sex. Each make them who they are. To try to take one from the other, to try to blur the lines of distinction is to detract from the respective dignities of men and women.
SisterAllie35 1 year ago 2
@cheesemonkey1990 Wouldn't it be Jesus? Since he was fully human and fully God.
HaloNoobNarutofan 1 year ago
@HaloNoobNarutofan ....That's what I thought. uhhh Yeah. It's Jesus. It's heretical to say it's Mary. Let's not get too Marian. But, under God, Mary is the queen. Mary is a good example. What humility it takes to say, "Lord, I get that you do not want me to be a priest. it is not my want that is important, but your want for me."
losackp 1 year ago
@losackp Although Mary does play a important role and many people can become closer to Christ through her.
HaloNoobNarutofan 11 months ago
@HaloNoobNarutofan Exactly, Jesus is God and Man, but as far as the most important exclusivly human person, the answer is Mary.
cheesemonkey1990 8 months ago
Doors are open to women as a nun. And guys can't be a nun. Look how much we respect and honor, mother Teresa and Holy Virgin Mary. There are differents jobs within the church. God loves you no matter who you are.
ericrules95 2 years ago
Us men can complain about not being able to become a nun, but we don't. Again there are different roles within the Catholic church. However in Protestant churches there aren't any nun, but women are allowed to beome pastors.
GOD loves you!!!
ericrules95 2 years ago
Yes, but who has the truth and follows what Christ does and has said to do? Jesus choose 12 men for the start of the Church and it's always been men and will always be. Also Mother Angelica on EWTN said, "Do you know why women can not be priests? Because they like to gossip.' One thing about being a priest; is not to tell the other person's sins.
pio99111 2 years ago
@ihavenolife86 Jesus himself established that the priesthood was a role exclusivly for men, no Pope can change what Jesus himself laid down. Women have a particular role to play in the Church, just not at the Altar.
cheesemonkey1990 8 months ago
Well done, I am glad the Catholic Bishops have found a way to cut across the noise in our culture to directly address to our young American men the question, "will you follow Him?"

I am in the military and have long considered a vocation. I am trying now to faithfully determine which path the Lord is leading me down. I believe the two paths can be reconciled (i.e. chaplain), but have a lot yet to figure out and hear from the Lord. Please pray for me. Thank you and God bless

i think tht the priest should have tried to help him other them giving him last rights...but it was good tht he gave him last rights so the kids soul could move on

The kid was going into shock and was at his end. Of course, paramedics were on their way. Btw, it's Last Rites.

I for my instance would think its more necessary to put this poor boy into a held steady position and other first aid after an accident. His body shaking causes him to loose more and more blood so he dies earlier.
21woman 3 years ago
Yes, dies EARLIER. But the gift of life, of recieving grace at the hour of death, is far more valuable at those last moments than a few extra moments of life.

You should change your screen name to Negative Nancy! ;)

That's because you worry more about the body than the soul. The body dies but the soul lives forever in one of two destinations Heaven or Hell.

Well done, sir! You have presented the priesthood from a very postitive perspective. One that, sadly, is not appreciated by many people. Keep up the good work. I will pray that God will continue to bless your good work.
