From personal experience, I know that anger and impatience only bring bitterness. Prayer, on the other hand, has a positive effect. The more I feel I understand the priesthood, the more upset I get over sexually abusive priests, and the bishops who tried to cover it up.

But, the power of the priesthood is so enduring, that not even the most sadistic or perverted priest can never stop being a priest. He may lose his position or become defrocked, but his priesthood remains. He is a priest forever, no matter what. This is the power of the sacrament. I can't wait to eneter the seminary. I can't wait to be ordained and e able to go up on the altar say the mass and transform the bread and wine into the body and blood of Jesus Christ. I can't think of a more holy calling or a better way to spend my life then in the service of Christ's holy Catholic Church.

@79743618 Priesthood. The thing with the religious life though is: you are a member of the community (which ever one it may be) first and a priest secondary. To the religious, priesthood is just icing on the cake. I will always be a franciscan first and a priest second.

The Ascetic orders are beautiful too but most certainly not for everyone! (benedictines, Cartusian/Trapists, etc).

He accepted and after the way asked permission to leave and join a carmelite monastery, the Bishop told him he was too useful and charismatic to be in a monastery and said no.

Well... Repentance means "change of heart", not the confession of sin. It's renouncing the worldly self. It's giving up the worldly for the heavenly. And you definitely see that here. Isn't that good news?

Women do not have passive roles in the Church, they ARE the church. They are held in the highest esteem with in the Church. This film, is talking about PRIESTLY vocations, which is reserved for men only. Because Christ chose men to be his Apostles. Look at how we honor Mary, our Mother, Queen of Heaven and of Earth. Women are not discarded they are the ones who nurture, and sustain the life of the the church, by their roles as mothers, and caretakers of the young, old, and every one in between.

The priesthood is male..PRIEST is a masculine word. and every priest, he is in Persona Christi, which mean the person of Christ. Is the role of Mary not good enough for you? And as we are on the subject of priests, there were no women, not even his own mother when Christ instituted the first Mass. If Our Lord wanted women to be priests, he would have ordained them, but he did not. There were 12 Apostles, which were all men, and they are the first Bishops. You can be a nun.
