i must have been 11 or something... i was playing this level with grant... man that dragon snake thing was hard to beat :) but it was ok because dad was bringing home kentucky fried chicken
This is by far the best song in the game! And considering some of the other songs (for instance Beginning and Mad Forest), that really says something!
Now to add my bit! This is made using extra channels- you get something more complex- and though the bass synth leads a little hard, I like the counterpoint.
@NeoSonicStrike lol, 'it's not even close?' and people give you thumbs up? Id say it's pretty close to the NES version, seeing as how the NES version is this....but with less sound channels.
Because LSI of "VRC6" is installed in ROM cassette only in the Japan sale version, a sound source that differs from a North America version and a European version, and is more excellent is used.

Jesus man, will please get the fuck of youtube and stop whining about every single fucking JAP version of Castlevania III, you are the most childish little bitch I have ever seen on the Internet
You must be a very angry nerd or something, because you post your complaints on a lot of Jap soundtracks of Castlevania. It is at least pitiful that you spend your time whining about stuff you don't like instead of searching for stuff you do like, but he man, it's your life.
I once downloaded it about 9 years ago off Napster...unfortunately it was cut at about 00:36...but i didnt mind it much...it sounded great...so clean and so epic...but i lost it when i had my computer formatted! :<
Pretty sweet. The only gripe I have about the Japanese soundtrack is the annoying bassline. I kinda wish they would have used triangle wave instead, like they had for the US release.
Nintendo needs to release CV3 on VC...and by CV3 I mean Akumajou Densetsu with English text and the CV3 logo.
It's a shame that the special chip in the JP version couldn't be transplanted into the US version. The same goes with Gradius II NES's chip; Gradi2 was docked from release altogether. T.T
I'd give you a thumbs-up to make up for this. It's no small fact that many people, myself included, played CotM before DC. So if a person hears it there first, without thinking, one will hear this and claim it's from the game they played first.
Furthermore, marking down a reply as if a person thinks a 16-bit handheld game came before an 8-bit console title really needs to think about what they're doing first.
Uh oh. Look out everyone! Somebody accidentally pressed the dislike button. Or was that there long ago.
Anyway this music is kickass!

This doesn't even come CLOSE to the NES. WoW! This version is just unbelievably bad. Completely BUTCHERED in the JP release.
Good thing the NES version exists....saves this version of the soundtrack from being considered complete mediocrity.

Dude, you post this on EVERY FRACKING JAPANESE CV III SONG VIDEO. I bet you live in your mothers' basement and married your NES cartridge.

Dude, why do you keep posting this crap on EVERY SINGLE JP CVIII SOUNDTRACK VIDEO ON YOUTUBE OVER AND OVER AGAIN?
No one cares if your masturbate all over your NES cartridge every night.

The NES Completely DESTROYS the FC version.
It Never will be a debate.

I was exposed to the US version first, so this does sound odd to me. My ear prefers the US version.

The NES version is hands down superior. It's not even close whatsoever.

Between this and the US version, no contest, the Japanese version is way better. Much more pleasant to listen to in my books.

Was this song remade for another castlevania game? I could have sworn I heard it in one of the GBA ones.

The NES version of Aquarius clownstomps this version, what a disappointment the entire Japanese soundtrack was in comparison.

i agree, the japanese soundtrack was downgrade compared to the american version

Agreed.
It is a complete downgrade.
NeoSonicStrike 2 years ago
That is not Konami's fault. The Famicom has an extra sound wave that the NES doesn't, which is why the two sound so different.

This Version Sucks! With a Capital S?
I seriously don't see how ANYONE can objectively imply that this version even compares to the superior Castlevania 3 version.
Yuck!

I like the CotM version a little better since it's got the extended portion. But compared to the NES version, this one is much better.
