It's 1 year that passed since the ending when they defeated Van.

It was TWO years from the beginning of the game to Van's battle.

in the anime they better than they will make up for the ending that in my opinion was only 98% complete ( they could of improved it like i said they could of kissed and though they did the cool thing by closing on the moon they could of showed all the characters a little older i mean come on anise should look like she's 16 not the same age i mean 3 YEARS HAVE PASSED PEOPLE if ur gonna do a time skip DO IT RIGHT other wise they should of made it look more like a year or few months had passed
