  • Oh my God, two of my heroes.....

  • Kudos to JB for letting a 'bigger' star on stage with him. Great version!!!! Love them both- but Jackson first and foremost!

  • awesomeness...

  • Great song by Browne. Springsteen almost ruins it.

  • well, springsteen sucks at this.. only jackson is good at this...

  • Damn, lots of boos going on. How can you boo either of them?!

  • @EaglesStir They are not booing, they are bruuuuccing.

  • Wish I'd been there.

  • ASTOUNDING!!! That's a helluva surprise visitor, but then again they were in East Rutherford...They sound awesome together...GREAT POST!!!!!! And, as someone who has been blessed to see BRUCE at least 5 times live...BBRRRRRUUUUUCCCCEEE!

  • had you ever the privilege of seeing THE BOSS live, you would would be screaming "BRUUUUUUUUCE" from the deepest bass in your throat

This is just another example of non-cultural understanding

  • It sounds like they're booing but they're just shouting BRRUUUCCEE !

  • Bruce should have left the stage when the fans all booed. They wanted him off the damn stage but he had to stay, I guess he wanted to "show them".

  • @hasekdom They were not booing, BRUUUUUUUUUUCE!!!!!

  • @hasekdom RETARD

  • nice one, this is class, thank you for posting

  • How dare they boo?

  • I've long had this bootleg and it's a treat to see the video. THANKS!

  • Jacksons still HOT as EVER!!!

  • One day this video will be priceless..........The Boss with Jackson Browne. Thank you for posting it.

  • Why are they booing? wtf

  • @JoshuaMLB glad you asked! they are NOT booing. this is what is done at a Bruce Springsteen concert. everybody screams "Bruuuuuuuuuuuuuce". it sounds like "booooooooo" but it is not. i'm sure he has not been booed since his very, very early days, if ever. when i first became a fan 27 years ago, someone had to explain this to me. i have been to 4 concerts, so i know first hand what is done & exactly what it sounds like.(& see the comment from 'macsdounix' below)

  • u can tell its JURZEE

  • They became friends when Bruce agreed to play at the "No Nukes" concert in 1979. That concert was organized by MUSE (Musicians United for Safe Energy), a group Jackson co-founded with Bonnie Raitt and others. Bruce's performance at No Nukes is legendary.

Oh, and of course the crowd is calling out "Bruuuuccceee!"

  • AWESOME!!!!! Great song, beautiful, rips my heart out. 2 pf the best!!!!

  • Two of the greatest ever.

  • you can tell Springsteen really likes this song

  • 22 people must be running on empty.

  • @danielsbusiness67

I think this happens a lot with Springsteen, I think the are saying "Bruuuce" not "Boo"!

  • power, melody, soul, brilliant!

  • Brilliant! Thanks so much! Oh doctor my eyes ...

  • My two favorites, on one stage together.

  • @Crystal71687 BS sounds great on this song! His backing vocal is similar to the original road version.

  • I have been listening to jackson even more so than normal lately in anticipation of seeing him in september in lansing, michigan. I seen him 30 years ago, july 4th, 1981-GREAT SHOW!!-and my wife seen him with a friend sometime in the 90's, but we've never seen him together and so much of our life together over the last 25 years has revolved around his music in so many ways that we feel an intimate connection with him and it is going to be great sitting front row in september!

  • Not "Booing" they are "Bruuuuuucing"

    Bruuuuuuuuuce!

  • They boo him as a joke, cus Bruce shadowed Jackson's career

  • @Pravindaswani74 Aren't they actually just saying "Bruce"?

  • @Rotateitbaby yes,but is also funny if you think about it

  • BBRRRRUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCCCCEEEEEEE

  • ederrick987 - I dont think they were 'booing', they were yelling 'bruce'....

  • Why did it sounded like the audience was booing Springsteen?? Is it because of his political stands? I am not a big fan of Springsteen so it does not really matter to me. But i assume the kind of following Jackson Brown has is more progressive minded people.

  • @ederrick987 Hey most people who aren't Springsteen fans think that the audience is booing .

If you visit his shows you'll figure out that even his fans are booing. But you'll also notice that they're screaming "Bruuuuuce". That's common since the 70s. There a few funny stories about it: Springsteen wanted to perfom together with a famous female singer (forgot her name) and when she went on stage the people called "Bruuuuuuce" and she believed that they're booing herself and she left the stage;)

  • a fantastic collaberation! Springsteen always add a rich flavor when he performs cover songs. plus, people tend to forget what a great guitarist he is.

  • Great video, wish I'd have been there...

  • Listen to the pops from the crowd , The Boss gets when he sings his parts..gives me the good chills !

  • Absolutely love this song, but I do believe that JB messes up his own lyrics to the song in the first verse

  • The guitar is a Epiphone Coronet

  • These are the two best ever!!!!

  • i'm totally blown away, two of my all time hero's on the stage at the same time!!!

  • Awesome

  • OMG!

can you imagine being at this concert

    go to see jackson browne

    BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN comes onstage

AND THEY PLAY RUNNING ON EMPTY

    unbelievable

  • Anyone identify the guitar J.B. is using?

  • @RobRoyMH Fender JAguar

  • alone they are both very gifted musicians- but together they are EPIC!

  • What an amazing song performed by two iconic rock and roll legends. thanks for posting.

  • awesome

Now F*** off, get a life and let the rest of us appreciate and enjoy 2 huge talents in the same spotlight. pure brilliance....

  • @Macfuller2003 WTF who R U talking to? I love JACskson brown I was a stage hand for him miimeowjess

  • yo, shut the FUCK up. i'm trying to be all hippie mode and jam out, stop trying to fuck up everyones cloud 9.

  • A/V is out of sync.

  • dude, these are hilarious!! download this in downloadmusic .im

  • "WOW YOU'RE A LITTLE ON THE SLOW SIDE EH BUDDY? THE CROWD CHANTS BRUUUUUUUUUCE!

    DO YOU HAVE DOWNS SYNDROME?"

No, I don't have Downs Syndrome [sic]. Actually, if you had half a brain, you'd realize that it is usually referred to as "Down's" syndrome--but of course, as a Springsteen fan, I could not imagine that you'd know what an apostrophe is or does. 'Down's syndrome." Apostrophes are for dumbasses like holy water is for vampires.

  • nice collaboration, the two of 'em,,,,,thanks bruchee!

  • enjoy free 250 gift from mcdonald by secretrevealed . info

  • SUCKS!

  • wow! just found this, never knew they were friends or ever played a concert together.

    thank you for the video!

  • look up "no nukes concert" on the google

  • @lau7615 They played together at the No Nukes concert in 1979. You should rent the film from Netflix and check it out.

  • @beadcat thank you. i actually have that album somewhere but it's been so long since i listened to it. i wil do the netflix thing for sure. thanks for your note, i appreciate it!

  • @lau7615 Spiringsteen & Browne have long been good friends. they played together at No Nukes in the 70's, and Springsteen inducted Browne into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame even. They've played together many times before for fun.

  • @lau7615 Check out the :No Nukes" concerts from the late 70's early 80's.

  • @lau7615 I saw Jackson Browne at Madison Square Garden in the summer of 1977. Bruce was a surprise guest

  • @lau7615 Browne and Springsteen go waaay back. Springsteen even inducted Jackson into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. Bruce admired Browne's music; even doing a few covers, and the two often performed together at benefits and other special events like a Roy Orbison tribute, during elections in 2006 & 2008; and many other times just for fun. During the speech he gave to induct Browne, Springsteen talks about how they met and their history together; you might want to check it out-its pretty neat.

  • Great to see two peers Rocking it for their generation.....Classic song....

  • awsome, thanks

  • This song speaks volumes, especially since its live with The Bruce Springsteen. I remember being 17 and yes, I was always running on empty haha.

  • y did they boo Bruce Springstein,

  • @nerdflanders8710 they didn't boo bruce, they were saying "bruuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuce" happens at all his concerts

  • @Vyselink no they are going boo-urns.

  • are there seriously 18 peop..........excuse me, idiots, who don't like this?????

  • @Vyselink this sucks and so do you.

  • I would've loved to be there for ths one!

  • Big huge grin. Awesome.

  • Holy crap! Awesome!

  • i love it...

  • great

  • Bruce Springsteen= THE BOSS

  • they are both talented musicians in their own ways and are great friends to be able to understand they are different yet both love music and admire eachother's work. Their knowledge and understanding far surpass your negative, biased, ignorace

  • Dirty sweet

  • 17 people hate good music.

  • 17 assholes

  • The jump at the end made me smile.

  • HIS TIMING IS PERFECT

  • Wow what's with all the Springsteen haters? If you don't like the Boss why are you watching this vid? Mustang's comment is really funny he's bragging that he's a better writer than Bruce, and used the word "stoled". You sir are a pathetic piece of shit with a grade 6 education. And then there's crimes comment; ever heard Springsteen play solo acoustic you idiot? Of course he's plugged in. He toured in 05 solo acoustic to promote devils and dust. all complex guitar songs, his timing is

  • OK, perhaps I should have been more explicit. I realize there is a cord physically plugged into his guitar. That does NOT mean his signal is being broadcast. And I suppose it's even possible the soundboard has him mixed in very low. But I doubt it. This is not like spotting a toupee. Well, maybe it is... they don't want it to be obvious.

  • Who's playing lead in the break? It sounds like Lindley but the cam doesn't show it

  • is brucie's guitar even plugged in? he looks like jake "e" lee playing for ozzie on "solid gold"

  • @crimesagainstislam I was told by someone that would know that Bruce is often not plugged in, as his timing is so far off it would train wreck the song. Admittedly, not many people can play guitar and sing well, simultaneously. What I don't get is, why even bother?

  • @KnqsX u r a fucking idiot,,,i will repeat that , u r an IDIOT!

  • @KnqsX he is plugged in here, u can see at 4:40 the plug dangling down a bit

  • @crimesagainstislam and you look like a scum bag ,, no wait , ur a scum bag

  • @crimesagainstislam yes, at 4:40 you can see he IS plugged in

  • at all the haters below - If you had the talent, you'd be using it and not talking smack on youtube. Proof is in the results and Bruce has it.

  • @kensal78 yeah, he has so much talent. smirking for the cameras and pretending to play guitar takes a lot of effort, asshole.

  • What makes Bruce so inspiring is that he's never been afraid to sing over the top of his range. The man IS music. If he's feelin it, he's showin it.

  • I am George Soros. I have had my face on the cover of Time Magazine. I have been given permission to hereby ridicule that talentless asshole. Have a good day while all of my capitalist acquired funds are used to further socialist causes. I sponsor Bruce Springsteen, I buy condoms for he and Patty to use at their discretion so they don't propagate, and I use him to poke fun at honest police officers. I wrote the lyrics to "nineteen bullets." I bought Springsteen, he is mine.

  • "Julienne may have been better looking, but maybe there was no chemistry. Looks ain't everything."

Talent apparently ain't anything either. Springsteen sucks. I can play guitar better than he can, and I don't even know the names of any of the chords I play. He blows. His voice sounds like he just did the Rod Stewart/Football stunt that got him into trouble. BTW--saw George Soros was on the cover of Time, I am so jealous of him as well as tonsil hockey guy bruce.

  • @crimesagainstislam Im sure Bruce cares what you think slick. *ROLLS EYES*

  • @mustang9985 I bet he does. I bet the talentless asshole lays awake thinking what someone who writes for a living, and actually writes, and hopes to make money from his own talent, writes. And I bet the talentless asshole is laughing his ass off at me, a guy who has some writing talent, and big bruce just stoled my thunder. He is a talenless asshole, and when people actually read "orgy of the blind dead," we will flush the asshole known as springsteen.

  • What I mean is his voice is so much stronger than Jackson's

  • @alkumbal Yeah it is. But not nearly as melodic or heartfelt.

  • Bruce is better... End of story

  • Bruce OWNS every song he sings!!! My two faves The Boss and JB!!

  • Comment removed

  • Why all the negative comments about Bruce? (by the way, the crowd yells "BRUUUUUCE"; it's not booing!) Julienne may have been better looking, but maybe there was no chemistry. Looks ain't everything. When all you guys get your butt on TIME magazine's cover, THEN you can ridicule him!

  • Jackson Browne should have shown Springsteen how a penis works, then maybe he'd have stayed engaged to Julienne Phillips, a beautiful lady he ditched for a roadie

  • I think at the beginning of this video, jackson browne is showing bruce springsteen how a guitar works.

  • was dey booing brucie there? I heard booing. they weren't booing browne, just springsteen

  • @crimesagainstislam

WOW YOU'RE A LITTLE ON THE SLOW SIDE EH BUDDY? THE CROWD CHANTS BRUUUUUUUUUCE!

    DO YOU HAVE DOWNS SYNDROME?

  • My god springsteen sucks. His voice has been shot since day one, I guess slurping semen will do that. Jackson Browne is cool, I have no idea why he would play with the talentless faggot. Sort of like Buck Dharma trading guitar solos with...hell, Bruce Springsteen. I doubt the fucker's guitar is even plugged in. Springsteen should be ethnically cleansed.

  • @crimesagainstislam What the hell is wrong with you?

  • @xTomcatsForeverVF84x I dislike people who worship springsteen. He is a talentless fuck. I tried therapy once--are you a licensed therapist? If so, maybe you can help me to get over my disdain for a talentless asshole who should be sharing a halfway house apt. with Iran Barkley at this point. It would not surprise me if Springsteen stole the championship belt himself. I have a problem with talentless assholes. Email me if you want, choptoplives@gmail.com.

  • Nickand19. Start with JB's two classic albums (IMHO), "Late for the Sky" and "The Pretender". After that go to "Saturate Before Using" then "For Everyman". That should get you started in the right direction. I saw Jackson at the Miami Jai-Alai Fronton back in the mid-70's. Took another dude with me who'd never heard of him who trusted my opinion. Said it was the best concert he'd seen. Great memories. Still listen to the above-mentioned CD's in my car about once a month. Classics.

  • Random, but...too bad Jackson Browne beat the shit out of Darryl Hannah way back when. He should have beat the shit out of that faggot Springsteen instead.

  • ozzy osbourne sounds like a frog. springsteen sounds like a frog after playing tonsil hockey on the members of black sabbath

  • I "discovered" Jackson Browne recently ... Can you tell me some other great songs of his ?? Bruce is great as always btw ..

  • Comment removed

  • This had to have been one of the best concerts ever!

  • springsteen is a talentless faggot.

  • @crimesagainstislam what a twat u r

  • Comment removed

  • @gosiadoda if you can't use spell check, don't reply, dumbass

  • @crimesagainstislam ha ha ha u really r a twat

  • bossとジャクソンの素晴らしい共演見せていただきありがとうございます!!!!

  • This is such a funny duo. Browne begins by singing in his smooth voice and then Springsteen comes in with his classic gravelly voice. It's awesome!

  • yes think so too 2 big stars that times together live a great event ;)

  • 16 people ran out of gas

  • great musicians, great friends, both wonderful in their own way and together amazing

  • what a f******g great video.

  • Best cruisn' song......Love them both....Wow!

  • I just imagine my favourite teacher, like she did after two boys in my class sang for us, saying "Excellent, both of you!" :)

  • No comparison...Jackson Browne FTW

  • 2 great friends 2 great musicians 1 epic performance!

  • fuck yeaaaaaah

  • in 65 i was 17 NOT 21 bruce

  • @toddobs "69 I was 21"... Its the 2nd verse, Jackson sings 65 I was 17!!

  • @ThePackDogWalks

both are equally correct .... as well as "in 66 I was eighteen" but that sounds like crap :)

  • Add just a little Bruce to a classic rock song, makes it legendary.

  • this video rocks! one for the books............

  • this is great. so is neil and paul doing a day in the life. also the load out with jackson close up. what a rich colorful music history these giants have given us. used to go to his concerts in the late 60's and early 70's. went to see jackson at amoeba records last summer and he looked straight at me the whole concert. it actually got embarrassing. just saw/heard him and david at the bridge school concerts last week with neil. so fine.

  • awesome song!

  • Bruce playing capo on an electric guitar, instead of sucking it up and playing the dang barre chords, is pretty po if you ask me. OTOH, his voice as the counterpoint on the chorus is pretty sweet.

  • Jackson Browne x INFINITY!!!!

  • The term "Double Whammy" in it's most positive, best and finest example. I love the variety that Bruce's vocals put on this classic song by Jackson. I would love to hear these two collaborate more. The sound they brought together here reflects the sounds of their performances while touring in the `70's.

  • Two great minds together in one arena WOW!!

  • Love, love, love it!!!!!!!

  • I am experiencing a little bit of heaven! BRUCE BRUCEBRUCE....has gotten me through some rough times, and I'm big JB fan. I wondered if they knew each other....I don't watch videos normally. So, I am pleasantly surprised! Together...may be too much for my heart!

  • @phoenixtb436 Browne also knows The Eagles Glen Frey- Frey and Browne co-wrote the song "Take it Easy" together. Browne also knows and has played w/ Crosby Stills & Nash, Dolly Parton,Sheryl Crow, and many more..

  • Whoever's booing Bruce should be shot and pissed on. You have on stage the guy who wrote Born in the USA and the other guy who wrote for everyone else in the industry. Give me a break.

  • @goatman1284

    Er, they're saying BRUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCE

  • Comment removed

  • @goatman1284 Tom Petty once said he was about to go on stage and thought the crowd was booing him. When another musician pointed out that they were actually yelling "Bruuuuce!" (who was appearing at the same show), Petty said "Well isn't that the same as booing me?!" :)

  • THANK YOU BRUCHE !!!
