@xanh01 Yes, this community does recognize the authority of the Holy Father Pope Benedict XVI and the Vatican. Not sure where you got this information but for the records the community has always been loyal and in communion with Rome.

The best thing to do is to check the Catholic Directory of the Archdiocese of Boston and see if this group is listed as a official groups recognized by the Church. All groups affiliated with the Roman Catholic Church (and their activities) are listed.

The brothers and sisters at SBC Slaves of Jesus, but they are Slaves of Jesus through Mary. Our Lord chose to come to us through Mary, since she was the most perfect way, His most perfect creature. Mary keeps nothing for herself, but gives all to her Divine Son, Jesus Christ. The slaves offer themselves to Mary, and since Mary gives all to her Son, through her, to him.

A human's actions on their own are small and insignificant. If you present them directly to Jesus, its like giving a rotten apple to a king. But, by going through His mother, his queen, the one He loves most tenderly, it is as if you are giving that same apple to the king's queen, and she takes it, puts it on a gold platter....

3. In talking with SBC members, I have noticed that they tend to make a big deal out of visits by your bishop. By a 'big deal', I mean that they appear to take his visits to mean far more than they in fact mean. I believe the bishop has only stated that the SBC 'appears to be very Catholic' in his 1st meeting with the SBC (paraphrasing, but I think I have the correct sense of his words).

How, precisely, has Bishop McManus expressed his position that Holy Mass at the SBC is both valid and licit?

Is there anyone in the Vatican or anyone at the SBC or in the Dioceses of Worcester or Boston, currently working to clarify and resolve Father Feeney's excommunication and the circumstances surrounding it (i.e., the problems that then arose with Catholics attending the SBC). The reason I ask is because the ambiguities involved appear to justify some clarification. At the very least, the SBC deserves an answer from someone as to why canon law was not followed.

St. Benedict Center is recognized as a valid and licit place to attend Mass which has been verified by the present bishop and his predecessor by word and action. They have visited many times, celebrated Benediction and Confirmed our students(in the traditional rite, haven't been able to convince them to say the Traditional Rite Mass yet. The Bishop has taken the first step in recognizing the community, the next step is the constitution. Nothing moves fast with Rome!

3. Concerning your problems with Rome during the Father Feeney affair: I've done some reading on this, and I understand your arguments regarding Father's excommunication. Essentially, your position is that someone or some people in Rome did not follow canon law regarding Father Feeney, and that he never got a hearing, and that no proper canonical review ever even took place (along with other acts of intrigue and pettiness).

1. About 40-50 years ago (or more or less, I'm not quite sure), a Bishop or Archbishop condemned your center, and ordered all Catholics to have nothing to do with your center. Is this ban still in effect? If it is in effect, does the current Bishop consider it null and void? Or has he explicitly made it null and void via a written statement? Does something need to happen about this statement, or not?

I believe you are in full communion with the Catholic Church. The bishop of Worcester visited your community when the children received their Holy Communion.

The Bishop was also saying by this action that he accepted Vatican Council II, that all people need Catholic Faith and the Baptism of water to go to Heaven (Ad Gentes 7,Lumen Gentium 14) and that the Letter of the Holy Office (1949) supported Fr.Leonard Feeney with reference to the Jews, and non Catholics, in Boston.Beautiful video!
