Edward McMillan-Scott is a complete creature of the EU. Even Gorbachev allowed opponents to speak uninterrupted during sessions of the Soviet Congress of People's Deputies. Apparently many members of this parliament are Soviet-era hardliners. The more McMillan-Scott, Barroso & co. pull this stunt, the more it will get broadcast online, and the more we see what this EU parliament is all about.

Here in the U.S. congress the speaker gavels you down (IE drowns you out with a louder sound), there apparently they just cut your microphone off in patently undisguised censorship.
And to clarify something. "Democracy" is the tyranny of the majority. That is why America was formed as a republic and designed in every way possible to be a rejection of democratic tyranny.
Not once in the U.S. constitution or any state constitution does the word "democracy" appear. Not one single time.

@kmg501 Not necessarily; democracy means literally: the rule of the 'demos' - the people. There can be various forms of democracy, including outright unanimity; however the practicality of such a system prohibits its' use in a world where decisions need to be made.
I do agree with you, that at times democracy CAN be a tyranny of the majority, but how else can a governing body legislate efficiently, without constant obstruction?

This appears too open to me, was this really in line with the topic of debate or was it straying to raise an obscure point? Also when addressed it was pointed in the direction of having the EU President present... which I think is a fair referral for the subject. I'd rather hear about what happens in a more packed congregation with the EU president present when the subject is raised, that would truly show if skeptics are allowed or not, this instead seems like a derailment of a debate.
