  • This is so much better than the studio version

  • Love this song, but too bad they didn't have a trumpet player- it's my favorite part of the song!

  • The way one of them goes "Ooof" at the end made me chuckle. :)

  • thumps up; if you're german :)

  • Anyone know anywhere you can download the bookshop sessions in mp3 format?

  • What song is Marcus playing at 0:18?

  • @Fritz102 hi. i think it`s Clam, Crab, Cockle, Cowrie by johanna newsom

  • And my head told my heart

    "Let love grow"

But my heart told my head

    "This time no"

  • thanx for being what I've been lookin for since I'm able to think!

  • Too many people have taken the words that Mumford and sons have written and perceived them to be all about white rabbits.

If you look closely at the beginning of this video you will actually see an actual white rabbit.

This was deliberately put there to subliminally plant the idea that white rabbits really do exist.

This is a proven fact that shows the most fanatical supporters of this band refer to themselves as "The white rabbits".

So if you think you are a black rabbit, you are not a fan.

  • @TheFryersmuck are you schizophrenic?

  • @TheFryersmuck you are a bit crazy, but the good crazy seeing what others do not see or my have not seen. ;)

  • IM ASIAN AND IM LISTENING TO THIS MUMFORD AND SONS FTW!!!!!

  • how many strinngs are on their banjo ?

  • THE SMITHS ARE IN THE RECOMMENDED VIDS! WOO

  • amazing lyrics and each verse sent chills down my spine. take note AMA's and pop world this is what real music sounds like and not the auto-tuned crap that dominates the air waves.

  • let love grow my friends!

  • Yeah.....stupid Americans.

  • AMAZING

  • Winston is so beautiful. I just want to hold him.

  • 2:42 can i freeze this frame and order a print??

  • I am so captivated by this song~it is just delightful! (*_*)

  • i gotta buy a mandolin

  • Winter winds litter Paris and I listen this music again and again .. :)!

  • That's it... I am buying this CD! Stumbled over this band listening to Lufthansa's onboard radio. Living in the Middle East I hadn't heard from them - but I'm completely fascinated by the hearty music and lyrics... Exactly this kind of "Music was my first love - and it'll be my last"...

  • amazing.

  • If I had to choose a soundtrack for my life, it would be this magnificent piece of art!

  • 1 of the best groupings ever. Lead singer/drummer/lead guitar/lead ukulele. Then homie on banjo n dude on stand up bass n honcho on piano/organ/squeeze box. F#$ki@!g FANTASTIC music.Im always complaining there's not enough originality in the world, with all the remakes of movies n tv shows,n tv shows into movies then i find these guys.Talk about ORIGINAL. GREAT GREAT GREAT FU@K1NG MUSIC!!!!!!!!!!!!! I just hope they hit Wisconsin some day. GREEN BAY BOYS!!!!!! GREEN BAY

  • you know shits going down once he whips out his mandolin

  • @1amar0ck Yessir, All hell bout to break loose lol.

  • The truest band to come along in the past decade.

  • @ripptyde27 Pretty sure that's why I love them ;)

  • can someone help me out with the mandolin strumming pattern

  • Mainstream media brought me here.... cause you know... I was running away.... Go figure...

  • To be frank, people arguing about this band at all should just shut up and enjoy it.

  • "And if your strife strikes at your sleep,

Remember spring swaps snow for leaves.

You'll be happy and wholesome again,

When the city clears and sun ascends."

Pretty sure Wordsworth wishes he would have coined that.. That's how awesome it is.

  • If there was a way to meet T-bear, Marcs, Winny and lovely Benji by clicking the 'like' button, I would never stop clicking. <3;)

  • anyone know what that song is at the start? I can't find it anywhere:(

  • @yumbod Clam Crab Cockle Cowrie by Joanna Newsome

  • @Cynthorrpg1 cheers man:)

  • I walked out in the cold hoping to find a road.

That would lead me back home where my soils lie waiting in the loam.

But my foot became lodged beneath a stone, and as I lay upon the ground a fierce northerly wind began to blow

As I lay upon the ground I've finally been shown, how fortunate it is to live amongst the snow

For without the snow and the cold, one cannot truly appreciate the grace of the home. And in the warmth of your arms, I can finally be bold.

~Let love grow, this time no.

  • There is nothing more beautiful than this

  • i am mesmerized by Mr. Accordion man.

Mumford & Sons, they yank at my heart strings.

  • @Noogers18 Ben Lovett He's awesome ain't he?

  • @MrDarksultan lovely. Benji is just an angel from God, along with ted, marcus, and winston. ( :

I'm utterly speechless when i listen to them.

  • does anyone know where this book store is?

  • hahahaha to all those comments below. like seriously shut the fuck up and listent to how beautiful this song is. :)

  • amazing lives

  • Strangely enough, that wittle white wabbit at the beginning was once a pet of mine and TheFryersmuck. Sadly, he escaped one day. He went out into the big wide world and soon came to sadly realize his own mortality. Upon coming to realization he went to Marcus Mumford who is not only a talented musician, but an expert at cryo-preservation as well. He froze our wittle wabbit friend, so that now he can live forever. ...unless someone knocks him over.

  • @GoWithTh3Flow is that sopose to be funny or something? i don't understand the comic...

  • @edgarmodin

Enjoy the music my friend. These lovely musicians/gods only want us to love each other, and that I do. :)

    And wittle white wabbits.

  • No theFryersmuck post up at the top? What the @%# is wrong with you people?!

  • why is, "sittin on the toilet" a related video...?

  • What song does he play at the beginning?

  • @TheBJM5678 "Clam Crab Cockle Cowrie" by Joanna Newsom

  • if i was a librarian i wouldn't "shhh" these guys

  • I FUCKIN LOVE THIS SONG ITS SO SOFT A BEAUTIFUL I JUST WANNA ENJOY IT BY BEING THE OPPOSITE

  • @doublip10 and @TheFryersmuck : JUST SHUT THE FUCK UP AND ENJOY THIS BEATIFUL MUSIC GOD DAMNED!

  • @elektrohexer you have every right to express your opinion but I would just like to say there is no need to shout profanities like a lady of the night I have to also tell you that you misspelt Beautiful and I think this is because you are probably a heavy drug user I meet many people like yourself who are full of anger and drugs and they aren't bad at all they have just lost their way and have lost their will to climb back out of the black pit of despair that is where I can help because i'm nuts

  • @TheFryersmuck Well spoken like a lunatic from the gracious days

  • @TheFryersmuck :DD You made my day :D

  • @TheFryersmuck You know something about addiction, no? I mean, you have been trolling this band for almost a year now. If only they had a rehab for attention whores, you would certainly be their poster child.

  • @Willet05 Like I told you before when it comes to being a Whore you have all the qualifications due to the fact you Promise satisfaction but at a very very Expensive price usually meaning you have to Marry you and Suffer years of Regret at settling for someone who is as Shallow as you. You tell me I have a problem and you havent the foggiest what this band represents, just to help you along a bit, it certainly isn't your Superiority types. You berate others for not expressing empathy with you??

  • @Willet05 If it were not for @TheFryersmuck I may never have given my first Mumford & Sons song, "White Blank Page" a second listen. He means no harm.

  • @TheFryersmuck So everyone is aware, this attention whore has been trolling this bands videos since they exploded to the main stream almost a year ago. Please vote his trollesque essays down so that he may actually have motivation to leave the Mumford playlist for 10 min and possibly go do something semi productive for society. I mean, this is just sad.... Every video trolled for a YEAR... You definitely are not kidding about being nuts, because this is textbook Attention Whore Disorder, or AWD

  • Comment removed

  • @Willet05 so what a ture fan would accept that there are haters and would not acknowledge them so clearly you are not a true enough fan i personally have been listening to them since about late 2008 so in the words of a great man "Just let it be"

  • When I die, I want Mumford and Sons to play at my funeral, that way when people remember my life's legacy, they'll at least know i like good music.

  • If you pause you will see that there is a white rabbit at the very beginning of this video.

Jackson McSwaggart is a time served psychiatrist and he advised the band to put this at the very beginning to see how many people recognised its presence.

To this day no-one has noticed it!!

Which proves Jackson McSwaggart was correct when she told the band your listeners will be lacking in left frontal lobe attributes.

He proved the very same thing when he told louis Armstrong to stand on the moon.

  • @TheFryersmuck

I'm assuming when you say no one noticed it to you mean no one commented on it. I'm sure several of the 686,600 people have seen it and no one has felt the need to comment on it, you know why? Because no one is here for a psychology test , they are hear to listen to this amazing song.

Psychology isn't real, there are a couple trends which any moron could have figured out, the rest is what happens when old guys get bored and want to feel important.

  • @doubledip10 I don't think you understand the intricate electrical currents that feed the brain with correct chemically balanced neurons.

If there is a slight deviation to the drip feed element the brain will stop sending clear and concise messages to the rest of the body and a bit like chinese whispers the body will second guess the brain often getting the decisions wrong.

It is so important you dont lose your sense of balance when you have too far to fall so I thats the best course to follow

  • @TheFryersmuck

Well i do understand that actually, But more importantly what is the correlation between white rabbits, youtube comments, the left frontal lobe and this song? Also you might notice at 2:08 there is a picture of a face...i bet it was put there by the owner because it looked nice...and to this day no one has noticed it proving that people watching this video are distracted by amazing music and passionate artists.

  • @doubledip10 Well done with your spot on analysis and there is no doubt that your frontal lobes are functioning in a healthy way.

But you didn't notice the books!!!

Have another look at the video and you will wonder how on earth you missed them!!!

There are things in this orld that just cannot be explained?

  • @TheFryersmuck

your just fucking with me arn't you?

  • @doubledip10 I hold my hands up high my friend!!

I am but a simple Jackass who wants to make more people smile than frown with my Nonsensical brand of humour!!

I have enjoyed our conversations and joking apart you honestly have quality frontal lobes!!

Thanks for enjoying the music its definitely worth the entrance fee!!

  • @TheFryersmuck You sir.... are that guy.... That guy who's always at the bar, who the regulars are always happy to see. You reminds them why the bar was cool...

    Thank you...

  • Best use of Accordion since Weird Al.

  • I want to own this kind of bookshop, in which folk bands come to play live :D That would be great!

  • why doesn't music like this win grammys?

  • Wherever that bookshop is, I want to find out. And go inside. And read books about Wales, and fairies, and sit wherever Marcus is sitting..

  • Fuck these guys are amazing..I bought their cd the other day, don't know why it took me so long to

  • Its the oldest trick in the book says I to Flat Eared Fred Flaherty what are you on about says Flat Eared Fred to me so I entered into a dialogue that was only of use to Flat Eared Fred and my good self. You hire a magician like they have on telly doing all those tricks like the fellow who says to a person who is in the vicinity at the correct timeline and when said person picks a two of diamonds the street magician says look in your shoe and knock me down with a proverbial feather its spot on.

  • Does anyone know what song marcus mumford is playing in the begining before the song starts?

  • @alberto00258 scroll down a few posts, I already answered that question.

  • @DoOmDooM1313 I didn't know there was a limit on how many musical geniuses could exist. Bach was a musical genius of his time. I'm here to argue that Mumford and Sons are musical geniuses and ahead of their time as well. One has to be very narrow minded to think even for a second that complexity and complexity alone is the sole characteristic of a genius....you're entitled to your opinion however :)

  • That's it...I am buying a mandolin.

  • I didn't even notice he wasn't using a real bass drum till the end lol

  • mumford and sons are the reason why i think playing the accordion, banjo, and upright bass is the fucking coolest...

  • what's the name of the song that marcus is playing/singing in the beginning?

  • @roe8910 Clam Crab Cockle Cowrie by Joanna Newsom

  • mumford and sons makes regular music look... like a peice of crap.... just sayin... theyr amazing...

  • Better than porn.... Seriously! I was about to go watch some, but the song stopped me "dry", so to speak....

  • anyone know any good how to videos to learn this song?

  • @supergeek149 Just put it in the search bar is my advice! :) Pick the one with the most views, or one with a name that you recognise.

  • @rueb: Wrong, unequivocally wrong. Yes, there is no doubt there is some emotion here, but more than any Mozart piece? You may listen to classical music as you claim, but you never truly hear it. Classical composers were both technically sound, compositionally (if it's not a word it is now) flawless, and conveyed ridiculously powerful emotions through even the simplest of movements. I also forgot Wagner and Chopin, but who's splitting hairs?

  • @DoOmDooM1313 "Wrong, unequivocally wrong." "compositionally flawless" Music by the numbers. Brought to you by DoOmDooM1313. LLS! Sit down and listen to the music ma brother.

  • true talent right here

  • @Kjacksonumw: you know what else is difficult? Astrophysics...THOSE men are geniuses...these guys...are just musicians. MOZART was a genius, BACH was a genius. These guys are good, that's all.

  • @DoOmDooM1313 I do have to agree, when they put that plaque on the voyager to contact alien races a man from NASA said "Why don't we have Bach on there" his superior replied, "that would just be showing off."

  • @DoOmDooM1313 also you forgot Beethoven..just saying

  • @DoOmDooM1313 That's a load o shit, sorry. There's more emotion in these guys' songs than any Mozart piece I've ever heard. To express that emotion and have it carry through in your music is ultimately more difficult and more important than technical ability and compositional skill. You're like the art critic who finally, begrudgingly admits that yes, Picasso has skill, but he's nowhere near as talented as the TRUE artists of the Renaissance. Bullshit, sir. Bullshit.

  • @DoOmDooM1313 No disrespect to classical composers, by the way. I really like Bach (though I'm not much a fan of ol' Mozart) and I listen to Dvorak on a regular basis. I just think you're perception is flawed.

  • why is there no fn love button

  • EPIC!!

  • Awesome !

  • love.

  • Excellent!

  • what is the song played at :20 ??

  • My life will be complete when Ben Lovett marries me. Just saying.

  • how can 6 people not like this ????

  • what is he using for the bass pedal??? is that a metal suitcase???

  • @theXXcodXXfather21 i guess its a cajon ;)

  • @theXXcodXXfather21 a stomp box

  • @theXXcodXXfather21 Its just a heavy duty case for carrying equipment. Rather ingenious really, seeing as a bass drum would be a tad big and loud for a book shop.

  • best part of the song was from 0:00 - 3:50

  • thumbs up if you tried like hell to find the song that marcus sings at 0:17

  • @guitargod413 I think the name of that song is 'Clam, Crab, Cockle, Cowrie' by Joanna Newsom. The line he seems to be singing is "feels so good to be a rose".

  • Quiet music that sounds good loud

Sad music that sounds good when you're glad

Good music for when you feel bad

  • I wish I could have been at this bookshop session.. they just sound great :D

  • And my head told my heart 'let love grow'. But my heart told my head 'this time no, this time no.' </3

  • The 6 dislikes is the guy who owned the shop kicking himself because he didn't know the lyrics.

  • let the memories be good for those that stay , love the lyric

  • You mean Leonard Cohen's Hallelujah...Buckley did a cover.
