  • This will deffanently braden my horizons.

  • Fantastic !!

  • you are a very good teacher!!!!!!!

  • Thank you very much, very useful!

  • Hempev, would you be able to upload the Tsue sho bo kata? Thank you very much!

  • @JTWebsites I have uploaded all of Shihan's kobudo videos that I have, and I have not heard of a kata by that name. I have only learned shushi no kon, but our handbook also lists:

    cho un no kon,

    sakugawa no kon,

    tsuken no kon, and

    shiishi no kon.

I think there are a couple others in our organization that higher dan learn.

  • I would love to train under this master. He knows what he's doing and how to teach it.

  • Excelent! Thank you. Bow.

  • Very nicely executed!

  • Honestly, I haven't even learned Cho Un no Kon, but I do remember a sempai having to explain it the same way as Shushi no Kon (i.e. Mr Cho Un's "stick")

  • Shushi no Kon is named after a person right? And if so, is Cho un no Kon also named after a person?

  • @Demibanzaa I just realized no-one posted an answer to this - Cho Un translates to Morning Clouds, but it was probably a man's name, since a lot of Japanese family names can be translated into English words.

  • Hempev- What are your thoughs of bo size for a man 6'5". Should I stay with the standard 6' bo or look for a custom one a little longer?

  • While traditionally 6', even Shureido, the authority on Okinawan weapons, sells a 6'5" bo for taller people. Every little bit helps, as long as you have the height to wield it!

  • what Style of Bo is This?

  • Style of bo? Do you mean the weapon (roku shaku bo) or the school of martial arts (kobudo)?

  • Thank you for sharing. I am learning Kobudo at my dojo as it was taught to them by Grand Master Shinyu Gushi.

  • Fantastic. I learned this kata from Kyoshi Knight at Yamashita Int'l Temecula, CA. Very similar, but typical of Tadashi Yamashita's style much more flowing . Less "stiff".

  • I love working with staff, Good video, thanks for posting it!

  • I truly appreciate the videos. They help out alot.

  • All the videos are "serialized" in my clips, but if you want to get them on dvd, the link for Century Fitness is where to go. Glad you like them - it's going to be many years before I know much of this myself!

  • Yes, thats very kind of you to post those Bo videos. I don't have any Kobudo classes in my town, so your tutorials are priceless for me. Thank you.

  • Thank You For Sharing This.
