  • would be cool if ccp used jump effects like in Babylon 5

  • after exiting the jump, why do the ships always spin? ive been playing for 2 years and i cant ever figure it out

  • pretty

  • how much does it cost to jump?

  • Depends on the ship, but most capital ships require 1000 isotopes per light year, which is reduced by skill. Properly trained up you'll use 6-7000 for an average jump.

  • are isotopes expensive?

  • Varies depending on the regional market but they're about 400 isk per unit. Filling a carriers fuel bay can cost a few million.

  • @elorran yust go afk ice mining

  • any one know the name of the music?

  • Monster Truck Driver by T.Raumschmiere

  • The old effect was supposed to look like you're jumping in from a distant point in space, but the ship's rotation on arrival made it look totally fucked up. But yea, i wish they fixed THAT instead of replacing everything with a generic wormhole jump animation...

I also miss the old warp effect that didn't look like you're flying down the shrinkwrap tube... seriously, they did some serious graphics nerfing for no particularly good reason =(

  • @ertyqwer i know, wtf ccp?

  • @ertyqwer The idea was that when a ship emerges out of a cyno beacon, it is still composed of tachyon waves. It must expel that tachyon energy in order to regain stability, and that is the equivalent of that generic wormhole animation. The same idea there works in reverse when a ship jumps through a gate and so forth; at the same time, the old effect was nice, but it caused loads of lag on the server as well as straining the general constraints of the EVE Online application.

  • @ertyqwer I dont care if it looked a little messed up, this looks ten fold better than it looks now

  • we need more minmatar carriers in eve

  • its always nice to see your cap's arrive :)

  • Shame that many of the old effects have been replaced by inferior ones (in my opinion) in the new expansion. The old jump effect was one of my favourite, now its a fraction of a second blip.

  • Yes I agree.

Nothing was more horrifying or intimidating than the lightshow of a capfleet jumping in.

  • I agree, I'm trying to reach the stage where I can fly a Thanatos, but I'm a bit pi**ed that I won't get to see those cyno spikes for myself :(. I can't believe they changed it, watch the trailer for Quantum Rise when the Gallente tripwire fleet jumps in its like "woah sh*t!" but now it would be so meh.

  • Hll yeh hope they bring back old ones tbh u saw more then 4 or 5 them u knew shit was htitting the fan

  • getting scared when 2 carriers jump in? hardly, more like exited for 2 possible better than average kills

  • Death and destrucion... most ppl would shit their pants if they were fighting an armada and then suddenly 2 carriers arrive... brrr..

  • bad ass

  • How many fighters can a carrier handle at any given time? Also, Do you have to keep paying to play EVE or is it a one time payment?

  • A normal carrier can field upto a maximum of 15 fighters, though this is quite rare to see. Most carrier pilots only field 8-12.

Eve is a pay to play game, with a monthly subscription of about 15 US Dollars/Euroes.

  • music?

  • Gotta love hard to find music. Music is Monstertruckdriver by T.Raumschmiere

  • Me and a friend from corp were camping a gate when 2 carriers and 2 bs's warped up. it was scary for a sec.

  • @Rasterizing carriers can dock on every station in low sec, only motherships cant

  • hey nice vid and can u tell me the songs name? xD i like dat song xD pllzzz =)

  • Sadly I don't know the music tracks name. It was recorded and edited by a friend at the time so I'm not sure what audio he used. I'll have a dig and see if I can find out what it was :)

  • would be very nice ... thx =)

  • Can carriers dock in NPC stations? Or does it have to be a POS?

  • yes, but only in lowsecurity systems.

  • i believe you can dock into titans ....but sbenail12 you can change ur fittings when you are near a corp maye or alliacne member with a carrier

  • so...in order to jump a cap ship...does another ship at the destination need to make a cynofield?

  • Yes. Ships with jump capability require a cynosural field to be deployed in the destination system (by a gang member, not just any cyno can be used).

  • hmm...cool

  • this is the awsome!

i love carrier jumps, and am now the proud carrier pilot :D

  • wow, i really love carriers..and motherships. i myself will become a thantos pilot in 5 months...and a moros pilot (before the carrier) in 4 months =D

and AmazonSamurai...YOU FREAKIN KICK ASS!!!!!! (well, i think ur Miz...=D)

  • and.....

  • that was kickass i was always staring in awe of carrier jumps, carrier rule!

  • What is the point in this vid?

  • It shows content from the game Eve Online of two capital ships (carriers) making jumps into a system. Not everyone has seen a capital ship jump so I put it up for people to see (though there are other clips on youtube of a similar nature).

  • this my sound stupid but I've always wanted to ask this to a carrier pilot. Can other ships dock inside of you?

  • No, you can only store unpiloted ships like at a pos ship maintainance array.

  • and how large can the ships be?

  • As an addition to elorran's post, some caps (Titans, Moms, not sure about Carriers) can fit a Clone Vat Bay, meaning that it can store your ships, jump to a new area, create a clone, and you Jump Clone to it. However that requires you to have the jump clone skill Infomorph Psychology.

  • yup, I had it while I still played
