put together your scientist ghana. what I read from this conversation is, Ghana is not prepared with the technology to run its own drills. you are at the mercy of other foreign investors.This must not be a permanent set up for ghana. You MUST build your own rigs. If not. Its just a matter of time. I think that is the only good thing about nigerian wealth. it is theirs. Careful Ghana

@cocoaton Hmm your comment does not quite fit reality. Ghana owns all the resources in situ (i.e. under ground) with the agreements between the government and the contractors (i.e. the oil companies) all equipment brought in to the country to develop the fields either belong to Ghana at the point of entry into the country or at a later stage after the payment of costs to the oil companies, either way the equipments belong to Ghana. The players there act in the capacity of contractors.

@marciakayie If that is true. Its a good thing. However, I think the most important thing is that ghanians recieve the training for research, Lab analysis, and all knowledge concerning the details of oil and not just deck hands and manual labor personnel. Also its important that ghana pays their bills. I'm sure foreign investors and owners of this equipment would be waiting for ghana to default. I bet those contracts are interesting. thanks
