  • excellent upload! a true classic - i actually think this tune got better when they brought in the chick background singers.

  • play it david you re the best

  • I would loved to have dipped acid and watched this back in the days.

  • 1:22 gives me chills

  • i hate pink floyd, but ilove music...this music is fab.because when you love something it should break, race, religion or creed!!!!!!!

  • @43lochness i hate you, but ilove pink floyd...your fab.because when you hate someone it should build, race, religion and creed!!!!!!!!

  • Yeah doing the solo with a Les Paul! Awesome!

  • ah i see a teacher found this vid...

  • You Yeah you STAND STILL LADDIE!

  • 1 person didnt eat there meat...

  • estes caras são d+!!!!

  • GEEEZ.... that spotlight at 4:24 must have absolutely burned David's head. could they get that thing any closer to him?!!

  • i work for the company that did their tour, we still have the bed sitting in the warehouse

  • :D

  • santana..pink floyd., santana, pink floyd...hmm. close call. Yeah, right.. pink floyd were on the darkest side of any moon!!

  • @meisterly where the F did you get santana?

  • @Jagethemage - some brick in the wall commented that they were better. i wasnt a happy gilmour.

  • A shame they broke up :C

  • touch good!!

    I LIKE PINK FLOYD,

    fron PERU

  • you know i can play pantera, i can play ozzy, and i can play metallica, but i cannot master this solo! so sweet!

  • The solo sounds better on Stratocaster

  • @TaroGabunia On the American shows of The Wall, he did the solos on the Stratocaster. It's clear he used it on Nassau Coliseum as I can spot the Strat neck a mile away.

  • 0 people just don't have good music taste...

  • Que musica...Muito Bom...

  • My friend and I went to gate crash the concert, must have been 1970 or so. We walked around that building three times and there just was no way in, too much security. So I get my buddy to follow me to an exit, and I said to the security guy, " my friend and I would really like to get in, but we have no money, would you let us pass?" He said if you got the nerve to ask, I got the nerve to let you go by, enjoy the show. We did, actually wound up 20 feet from the stage. Good times.

  • @TonyB08 damn dude, you're a fucking fossil hahah

  • I just hate that song.

  • why would Pink Floyd ever have a second guitarist? Gilmour is more than enough. Must've been Roger's idea....

  • @hazor777 No it's Snowy White a good friend of Gilmour and a fantastic guitarist.

He was on Roger waters last Wall Tour and is a highly respected guitarist.

  • @hazor777 to make the sound fuller in a big venue though i agree wit u bro or girl

  • @TheKalen486 : Haha! Yea, it's "bro"...but thanks for your courtesy. Oh yea, I would agree that for the original WALL Tour/production it most likely made sense -hell, they're Pink Floyd, they know what they're doing. But Ive heard other live tracks from previous tours where it was just Gilmour, and it sounded fine. There is one post on YT of a live Wall tune that sounds like crap (the second guitarist's tone)- although,I think it was an overdub...but who knows.Cheers!

  • @hazor777 You're a fucking idiot.

  • @TheElusiveBirdMan :HAHA! That puts me head & shoulders above you! Lmao!

  • Funny how that Les Paul sounds like a Strat. Lol

  • @themilksnatcher it has P90 pickups thats why

  • The quality is a bit off but the clip is awsome and Gilmores fast solo at the end is just amazing...oh yea and the bass line at the start is one of the reasons why Pink Floyd without Waters can't work...simply amazing!

  • I was there, travelled to brum from bristol for a party up all nite, someone at party needed lift to see the gig and had a ticket on offer for the lift, sod still being hung over off we went on me bike blasting down the motorway, what a gig , what a experience never met the guy again he made his own way back to brum and on i went back to bristol, but I will always be grateful for that ticket.

  • when will the acid kick in?

  • these boy's could continue this jam for 2 hours, and i 'd enjoy every second of it...

    oh yeah

  • ...wow...David with a Les Paul...weird man...

  • Wonderful...nothing else

  • pink floyd....THE TOP |||||||||||||||

  • PINK FLOYD ,,GOD SENT ,,,

  • I wish they'd sell the remastered concert! In order for us to see this concert, we have to buy bootlegs, and they have horrible quality. We really love the concert, and bootlegs are the only thing out there, so we have to buy them. It just doesn't make any sense to me why they haven't released the remastered concert. Doesn't Roger want to keep his fans happy? Roger isn't making any money when bootlegers are selling it and not him. Roger, if you are reading this, PLEASE RELEASE THE REMASTERS!!!!

  • Who"s the second guitarist solo ?

  • Who´s the suport guitar player?

    Tim Renwick?

  • @sergioazara snowy white i think

  • @Darndez you're right. And White is on the current tour!

  • best band in the world.

the voice of roger, the guitar of david,

the sticks of nick & the fingers of richard.

  • the best of band

  • Este debe ser uno de los mejores conciertos de la historia, por que se ve en tan mala calidad ? , que no daria por verlo aunque fuese en alta definition, son Dioses

  • I WAS THERE!!!! God love my big sis for lying to mum and taking me with her. BEST CONCERT EVER!!!!

  • J'adore le casque de Rogers :D Comme il était laid à l'époque, quand nous voyons la miniaturisation actuel :)

  • Who is the second guitarist?

  • @SemillaJoven Snow White.

  • 6:14 more cowbell!!

  • This is a world where only fans of The Floyd visit. There are no haters.

  • what an amazing concert this was, especially how they built the wall during their perfomance, cant believe 30years has past....roll on 02 in 2011

  • cant wait!!!!!

  • what an amazing concert this was, loved the way they built the wall throughout the performance just can't believe this was 30years ago... can't wait to be there at the 02 in 2011

  • ( 0 dislikes ) thats what iam talking about people :D

  • the best song ever!!

  • I LIVE THAT MOMENT A BUY TEH DISC AND MANY SOUVENIR

  • Going to see Roger Waters at the O2 in London next year i cant wait.

  • Worst bit of dubbing i have ever seen.

  • you can tell who Pink Floyd really is...

  • Oh and Gilmore and Waters are supernatural beings!

  • luckiest man ever - nicholas berkeley mason

    1. he's not exactly a great, even good, drummer

    2. pink floyd didn't need a great, even good, drummer

    3. he was in the right place at the right time in 65'

4.he was surrounded by waters, gilmour, wright and barrett- some genius must have rubbed off on him

    5. i'm a jealous bastard. bahhhhhhhhhhhhh

  • i disagree, nick mason is an AMAZING drummer his fill ins are the best you could ever hear, and he played the perfect drum riffs for the band and just cuz he didnt play fast doesnt mean he wasnt great because if he did play fast then pink floyd's songs would never have given off the same vibe that you get from their songs and the drum patterns that nick plays are one of the hardest too

  • @cliche44 I totally agree how can anyone say he was not AMAZING, foolish to say that he isn't even a great drummer. He is an original just like every member of Pink Floyd. Love his stuff, it was right on every time!

  • yah you know that's how people judge musicians today. If you can play a 30 sec note pattern on the double kick pedal then all of sudden your greatest ever. back then the drummer played what went with the music, like how ringo starr played simple beats but that doesn't mean they're unable to play anything else because they can do amazing things. If you put any famous drummer today up against any of the old school ones, the old school one would destroy them.

  • @cliche44 mr mason wasn't even the best drummer in pink floyd, he wasn,t even the best drummer in his own bedroom in his own mansion. he struggled to lay down a beat from dark side onwards, other than that he is resposible for the worst floyd effort ever on ummagumma, entrance, entertainment, exit. ok, he got away with the pre 73 flowery efforts and the percussion on scarecrow is good. also, why did he use two bass drums?

  • @eric15746 Nick Mason was excellent pre-Wall. He obviously was the least talented of the 4 but (prior 1981) he kicked major ass. BTW, did you go to any of the 77 shows? they would change your mind. And to answer your question, he used 2 bass drums because they give different tones so to speak. Nowadays they use them to pull of crazy drum solos. Bonhams a rhino, Masons a black widow, each deadly in their own way. Mason never missed a beat like on One of These Days, Live at pompeii

  • @MrAndysalina5 oh yeah I wish the version on meddle would have been the pompeii version...mason made that song in the live version even when losing a drumstick.

  • I reckon Snowy White out plays Gilmour here. Snowy is amazing

  • What a MASTERPIECE!!!!

  • Nicholas Berkeley Mason looks like on acid :D

  • Roger Waters voice is one of the prime reasons what made this album so successful

  • Rick is playing the solo ! :)

  • Man, I'd love it if they could find the rest of the concert footage and remaster it

  • @donstuie I totally agree......would be great to see

  • @donstuie they eventually will since they put out wish you here and dsotm box set with concerts and documentary included but its gonna cost an arm or 2. worth getting i guess cause its hard to find any live remastered full concerts from 77 animals tour, 75 wish u were here tour, and 72 dsotm tour

  • if you look at other videos of the same performance, it certainly looks like richard wright, but it doesnt sound at all like him, far too energetic and loud

  • I can't really tell. Is it Rick Wright playing the organ solo or is it Pete Woods the other keyboard player? To me, it doesn't quite sound like Rick's soloing style, while at the same time, looking at the guy on the Wurlitzer, the way the guy is moving, bending his knees while banging out chords playing "rhythm keyboard" if you will, to me that doesn't seem to be Rick's style either. Maybe it is Rick on organ, and I should just shut my mouth.

  • Yea the solo is a little out of character BUT it takes a lot more than that to screw up a great song like this its still an awesome video

  • Звук очень понравился!)

  • What effects David is using there?

  • @hirvi93

Compression + Light Distortion. I think. That's what i use on my Les Paul for this solo. It sounds ok i reckon.

  • First Fender, than Gibson... so fast change that I even couldn't notice.

  • Musica a questi livelli non ne sentiremo piu',mettiamoci l'anima in pace,purtroppo.

  • I'm sorry but the clapton wannabe solo is horrible. I understand letting the guy play some rhythm in the background, but damn, the tone and performance of that is just out of character with the artistry of the rest of it. Makes me wince every time- is it snowy shaw, or what's his name? Ugh that's a trainwreck in the middle of a masterpiece.

  • I should have mentioned that this is also an outstanding sync job

  • If you would like to own this concert for yourself on DVD, without the awful hiss in the audio, visit my tommygunvideo website or send me a msg

  • i should add that I'm talking about the original audio that comes with this concert. This audio is from the officially released "Is There Anybody Out There" CD

  • I would like to...

  • gilmour...les paul ????

  • yep it looks as though he starts with strat and picks up the second solo with a les paul. Prefer the strat myself for this

  • yep an old one gold top 54

  • @juanzz412 Yes, David Gilmour used a Les Paul for the solo for this song. But for the rhythm guitar part, he used his Stratocaster.

  • No, they weren't

  • GRAN TEMA DE THE WALL

  • amazing.

  • the best rock and roll band in the world...

  • grandiosi! quante volte ho ascoltato questa canzone!

  • and whos the singer

  • what year

  • 1980, and the singer is Roger Waters.

  • one of the best bass works ever!

  • I still don't know why I like this song so much!? Maybe because that was really the first hit I have ever heard when I was just a little kid! :)

  • Comment removed

  • this is not 1980

  • This song sounds like the unjust going into battle to defeat all evil!

  • one of the best guitar players ever!:D

  • @Riogh3 no questions bout that

  • Fantastic Band!

    RIP Syd

  • Is that Gilmour..still cant tell..he looks a bit heavy there

  • thats him on guitar, after animas was released, he started to beef up from a skinny hippy. its really weird to watcch him in the ate 80's early 90's wen he got bigger, but still had his long hair.

  • yeah it is, he got a little fatter in the 80's.

  • love the beginning of that solo.

  • te pasas

  • my god i love the fucking intro to this song the bass just brings you to bump your head to its beat

  • Wright was out by this time, correct? Who's on the keyboards? I assume one of them is Michael Kamen?

  • i thought wright was thrown out right after the show. he was the only one who made money with the show because when the rest of the floyds realised that the show was a financial desaster wright was gone...

one of the keyboarders is wright. they had all bandmembers "twice", that's why the sound track cd has got those masks on the cover...

but i do not remember which band (that played the doubles) that was.

  • not really, read the facts first instead of writing shit, idiot

  • Cant beleive hes playing a les paul!!!!! must be outfitted w singlecoils

  • another brick in the wall is played by gibosn les paul in original record...

  • signature lick as always at 4:08 by gilmore

  • makes me wanna start a freaking tribute band

  • Amazing guitar solo.... and amazin piano solo....Pink is amazing and one of the best rock bands in the world forever...

  • Was roger waters ever in floyd? or just some dude who did another brick in the wall too. coz he starts his like this, wicked solo

  • yes he was in pink floyd as the basses, then he took over pink floyd aafter syd barret left

  • that other guitarist is good

  • even blindfolded, I could tell the first guitar solo was done by David Gilmour; one of a kind, no question about it; prefer his warmer & smoother tone to the latter guitarist.

  • Roger Waters is and always will be the "Bob Dylan" of Pink Floyd

  • must've been said before - last time as a combo grooving; great archival stuff - thanks. btw i prefer rogers output since - more meat and attack - he's hardly banging on about it & and he writes relevent stuff (songs that mean things)

maybe they all deserve a gong!!!

  • Is so wierd to see David playing a Gibson Les Paul, he was great as always anyway.

  • Nick Manson siempre toca como si tuviera una inmensa gueva.

  • snowy white steals the song...

  • David Gilmour sobresaliendo como siempre, indiscutiblemente el mejor!!!!

  • IL secondo chitarrista è Snowy White

  • David such great artist and sooo handsome, as I can see all that long gorgeous hair had gone by then

  • wow nick really does look blown away at 3:14

  • l'altro chitarrista è Lee Ritenour :)

  • Gotta love Gilmour and Waters! =D

  • in the begining he sounds weird but later it sounds very very very good

  • Nick mason looks stoned out of his mind at 3:14 but he mustve been having a blast!

  • Comment removed

  • He switched from the Black Strat to a Les Paul gold top because he liked the the sound of it for the solo. He did have an assistant next to him.

  • the best show in my life serata memorabile

  • THE BEST SONG AT THE HISTORY:)

  • what the hell Gilmour needs to change the guitar for the solo? Pathetic didn't they have good pedals at that time?

  • Because Pink Floyd likes to make everything as complicated as possilbe (not sayin' that's a bad thing, so do I)

  • He just needed the extra "oomph" from the Les Paul.

  • All guitars do not play the same nor do they sound the same. Pedals do not make up for the difference either.

  • Viva la pink floyd <3 :D

  • David really looks like he did in his jokers wild days here.

  • I can no longer take this live footage seriously, because it looks too much like Nick Mason is checking out Roger's ass around the 3:05 mark. Seriously, if you're as immature as I am you'll think it's hilarious.

  • lool that's fuckin funny

  • Pink Floyd...awesome...first album I bought of their's was "ummagumma"...a double album released in 1969...opps dating my self...comfortably numb right now...yeaaaaaaaaaaa

  • Is another guitarist Snowy White?

  • Yes it is :)

  • correct . the another guitarist is the big Snowy White . check out the album Roger Waters In the flesh and you will see the same guitarist and the same guitar .

  • Is Gilmour changing guitar for the solo?

  • Yes he is, what I'm trying to figure out is how he does it so fast.

  • yeah me too :D He's gotta have an assistent to stand beside him with the guitar ^^ its less than 4 sec! :)

  • man you love pink floyd too. i love it since i was 12 now i'm 13. they still rocks.

  • Great video! I love pink floyd!!!!

  • The video is clean and nice even if it is bootlegged. Also, the sound was good too.

  • Well, the sound is good here because its the audio from the "Is There Anybody Out There" Live CD set, which was just released no long ago. the original audio was not very good.

  • Awesome indeed!

  • awsome

  • Good one
