    nourah

  • Even if you're joking...

You can't get diabetes from too much sugar.

Type II Diabetes is caused by the Pancreas being overused by abusive diets. High fat and cholesterol foods have to be filtered by the pancreas. When the pancreas wears out, it no longer produces Insulin to regulate sugar in your blood stream. Sugar is dangerous b/c its molecules destroy blood vessels - the blood vessels around the eyes are particularly sensitive and will tear away, causing blindness. Glad to educate.

  • @earthygreen

wow can you tell me more about sugar affecting eye sight? thats kind of scary. please explain or elaborate.

  • @marcelcol69 When your body no longer produces insulin, then the body cannot metabolize the sugar molecules. Those molecules build up in your blood stream and they tear away at blood vessels. The blood vessels in the eye are particularly fragile. The blindness doesn't happen right away, but after the blood vessels have already been damaged and then healed, those damaged vessels make scar tissue that can cause those vessels to tear away from the eye, causing blood loss and eventual blindness.

  • @earthygreen You are either joking or abundantly misinformed. Brain and red blood cells absorb and metabolize blood glucose independently from Insulin. The body is well adapted to fasting

  • @kleenex3000 Of course the body is well adapted to fasting. I didn't address fasting, so why bring it up?

I'm not abundantly misinformed -- If you need more information on how diabetes is fatal, please spent a few hours researching on the internet.

Capillaries and vessels take a beating from our blood sugar if it is not maintained by a healthy body. Those in our eyes can only take so much tearing before scarring occurs. When the vessels are damage and heal, they scar. When the scars tear ---

  • @earthygreen (2)QUOTE:When your body no longer produces insulin, then the body cannot metabolize the sugar molecules"

YOUR statement. I have quoted it so you cannot remove it and play the innocent,

    QUOTE"I am not abundantly misinformed"

I correct you: You WERE. Now you will be informed by me ad libitum.

  • --- the eyes are well on their way to losing blood supply and eventually losing vision.

When neurological damage occurs in the body b/c of diabetes there is increased risk for foot amputation. My grandfather's wife has been having agonizing foot pain for a few years. She has diabetes. Rather grusomely, she said she'd sooner kill herself than to have her feet amputated. I'm thinking diabetes may also contribute to psychosis. (joking.. heaven knows you'll take me seriously)

  • @earthygreen I did not refer to Diabetes. QUOTE:"agonizing foot pain" You refer to longterm effect of Diabetes, polyneuropathy. Fasting is not Diabetes. I could even say: "Quite the contrary". QUOTE: "the eyes are well on their way to losing blood supply and eventually losing vision" you refer to another longterm effect of Diabetes, Retinopathy and it is ridiculous in the context of fasting unless you refer to "fasting to death" which then becomes a surprisingly trivial statement.

  • @kleenex3000 Are you thinking I'm someone else? I was responding to the diabetes comments in the video and to others on this thread. No where on this earth did I say anything about fasting. At all.

I'm pretty sure you think I'm talking about something else, because all my comments on this thread are ABOUT diabetes. Not about fasting. I haven't addressed fasting once. At all. I know how the body reacts to fasting. I never spoke of fasting. Why do you keep addressing ME with fasting??

  • @earthygreen

Thank you for insisting. Now that the commentary has been rearranged through "linked comment" - and I y have to perceive, that you included your comment that I queried, had actually not been in the context of FASTING. Beforehand, it strongly appeared as IF! Otherwise I would NOT have objected!

  • @kleenex3000 I'm quite surprised at the irrelevence you comments are in light of what I was talking about. I wasn't talking about fasting. You really need to read all of my comments on this thread. Thankfully, they're kind of in order. I not once mentioned fasting. I haven't mentioned that the body's metabolism slows down to conserve energy. The word "breakfast" literally means Break Fast. As in, break the 'fast' of overnight sleep.

  • @marcelcol69 At least... that's how my eye doctor described it to me when I lost vision in my left eye for an hour. Not black-out blindness.. just nothing but blur and fog. I freaked out and went to him to check out my eyes. He said it wasn't diabetes, that I had very healthy eyes, there was no damage to the blood vessels at all. But... it was an ocular migrane. A temporary loss of blood pressure. It's the same mechanism that causes migraines. So.. he told me to watch out for them in the future.

  • Very nice video! You are true about all what you said. And for those people who dont like to brush their teeth during Ramadan, I recommend them to use Siwak. It is Sunnah to make your smell good!

Greetings from Saudi. Ramadan Kareem :)

  • Ha nice one, I'm afraid some people might misunderstand this video and think that this is actually what you do.

  • رمضان كريم :)

  • @ Kittycarstef..

You can brush your teeth with a pea sized toothpaste during fast. (i.e. Daytime) however, you should avoid shallowing the toothpaste. Which will nullify your fast. However let me remind you that although the smell that emits from a fasting person is bad or foul. In the sight of Allaah it is liked upon. Even Allaah says this himself, the reason being is that this show the sacrifice of a Muslim for Gods sake.

He gives up food and drink, hunger and thirst for his obedience for h

  • can you elaborate on the brushing teeth thing... call me nieve but I am a convert and I keep getting different oppinions on this... Can I brush my teeth during fasting time? and can I use toothpaste? I was told I can only brush my teeth with tooth paste before and after fasting time... I know many may know this already, and this is probably not the best place to seek the anser, but im here so im asking... LOL thanks :)

  • @kittycatstef Al hamdulilah brother. Welcome to Islam. You're a revert, not a convert :)

Purchase a Siwaak. It's a stick that the prophet Muhammad (pbuh) used to clean his teeth. Typ Siwaak or Miswaak in the search bar here on Youtube. You'll find plenty of information about it incha'Allah. And yes, it is allowed to use this stick for your teeth during Ramadan. It's in fact, encouraged. May Allah guide us all, ameen.

  • @Madhofd thanks :) But Im a revert sister :) not a brother... Alhamdullah :)

does using this siwaak/miswaak have any negative effects on teeth/gums? discoloration etc? Sorry for the silly questions but im really sincere in my inqury.

  • @kittycatstef; Assalaamu alaykum sister :)

The miswaak is better for the teeth than a normal toothbrush.

It has many beneficial factors :)

  • Sister, there are never any cons or disadvantages of what Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) has did or taught us. The key to success is to follow whatever he did in his everyday routine.

He is quoted in various Hadith extolling the twig's virtues:

"Were it not that I might over-burden the Believers I would have ordered them to use Siwak (Miswak) at the time of every Prayer."

"Make a regular practice of Miswak for verily it is the purification for the mouth and a means of the pleasure of the Lord."

  • lol funny thing is i do one of those thing xd

    i sleep all day XD
