If you look at the horses barrel it isn't bony... it's just the way the horse is built, and he looks just like he is being a bit fresh, good on the rider for riding through it without fuss fussing would of made them ten times worse, if the horse was in pain it would be bucking worse than that and more frequent.
@ilovemyappy14 thts not even on the topic? im not rich and i dont even own my own horse. tht was a long time ago and i dont even care anymore because i understand some places have smaller arenas than others. and secondly ive only done 2 shows.
get your horses back, teeth and saddle checked, rug him up heavily through winter and put some flesh on his bones, you might end up with a better result at the end?
Agree! But the horse doesn't look like he's underweight, just needs more muscle and a topline... He for sure looks ouchie with his head up high and ears back and bucking more/ harder when the rider slams down on his back...
I'm not saying you're a bad rider but you sat that canter wrong and i'm not sure if it was my screen or the c amera or something but he looked a little bony. Is that right?but at least you stayed on
the horse was just expressing its pain when you asked for a lead change and slammed on its back. The horse looks like it has a back problem to start with and you calling this "bucking mad" when the horse basically did three bucks in a spread out portion. If the horse had done it in a row I could believe "bucking mad" but it looks like the horse is in PAIN. please, next time before uploading a video blaming the horse, take the horse under consideration first.
i think there is something wrong with this horse... not just the bucking kicking etc, but the horses face and the fact it is dis-united for the mojority of the video...
Kicking back, bucking, - all evasions trying to tell you something and this horse is shouting that his stifles need veterinary investigation and they are locking.
your horse is totaly off and not paying attention to you. when you ride focus on your hosre and getting him to relax and drop his head before you ask alot out of him....your ride will be alot better. also can indicate some back problems and a bad fitting saddle. but good ride :)

He's kicking his leg back, not bucking.
alphababz 6 months ago
He bucks because he has an stifle problem. Watch - just before every buck, his stifle locks.
WTELtd 6 months ago
@WTELtd Amazing, how did you sport that.
It would take me ages to spot that.
alphababz 6 months ago
I also think he might be trying to switch his lead because he has the wrong lead in the back for most part of the video.

@birdgirl10 I think a small arena is better than no arena at all, and I really don't think it was necessary to leave a comment saying that.
