I'm dissapointed that they've returned to their punk roots, but that said the music is still of great quality, I just liked them more as a rock/metal outfit aka The Bombshells. Beki & Paul still look great.
I had no idea that Vice Squad were still around. Saw them once back in '83 in NYC when they filled in for Discharge who were denied visas to travel to the U.S. They didn't much inpress me, but maybe that's because the Bad Brains came on after them and blew the roof off the joint. But, I like this song. Sort of Distilerish.

When "street punk" got big in the USA in the mid 90's she cashed in and took the name of the band she quit in order to make the almighty dollar. She's a sell-out of the worst kind.

Gud point taken Vulpin i love the rockier stuff and new punk tunes too.BUT they have sucessfully released 5 albums the latest Defiant getting RAVE REVIEWS described as THE BEST VS album to date.if you like b/shells the latest cd will not dissapoint.i'm glad good tunes are still there but beki is back on form lyrically knocking the system/media down a peg or 2 - she does any music well really.
also Don't forget bek had to disband B/shells cos of band fall outs,she gladly moved on to revitalise Vice Squad and rightfully to her real punk roots.They have played worldwide for over 7 years to a growing fan base of new AND old fans.That does'nt ring of desperation to me that sounds like crossing over and sucessfully connecting to fans of all tastes including ones like yourself and me !.cheers
Clashcity I take your point. I just feel that punk rock has had it's day, where as good all fashioned rock and roll will always remain timeless. I just love listening to all my old Bombshell demo tapes, they are so medolically superior to the rushed punk sound. However as long as Paul & Beki are still out there kicking arse who am I to complain. Their dedication has been utterly outstanding usually in face of adversity.
Vice Squad were one of many bands I co promoted at Bowes in Stevenage and head lined there on October 4th 1981. All straight punk guys fancied Beki including me even if we weren't allowed to admit it at the time and she's still a fine looking woman.
Wow. I fell in love with Beki when i was 15. I think i'm still in love with her now. x x x x x
