Ontop of that some people just have more trouble with languages then other people, or have particular difficulty with certain languages (e.g. I learnt German for a while and picked up most of what I learnt quite easily, though I have forgotten most now, whereas I don't speak a word of Welsh and I have lived in Wales for the last 9 years.
