hi so i have flashed a few benQ's before but this one not working.. when i put in a burnt game in my good xbox 360 it works fine. but on this one i been trying to flash it loads and shows me a picture in the display menu, but when i hit play game, (it does say play game) ... it just goes black screen..... i tried lots of games and and lots of firmwares.,... and normal store bought games load and play fine.. any idea's??

@TravisNRG Based on my experience this is an indication that your drive is bad (even if it will still play normal xbox games key word "normal" games). I recommend buying a New Drive First or you can try changing the laser. The drive is easier to change and much faster, not to expensive either.

@mwest23 nope i figured it out!!... this new thing call AP2.5 ...thats what messed me up, the 2 games i was testing with were halo reach and black ops, and when i burnt those games months ago there was no ap2.5 crap and i have not had to update my system menu or dashboard, so everything has been fine. except with the new benq with was all updated had blocked games with ap2.5, so i had to reburn those games with abgx1.0.5 and its all good... lol..i cant believe i flashed it so many times lol.

@jord534 1.Yeah i added a Pci Via card. All Kernels most drives but some of the newer lite on drives are a little more difficult to mod and require some soldering.

What type of setup do you have? It sounds like you're not getting that drive into mode B correctly. USB??? Do you have a kit?  Also have you verified your chipset to make sure its compatible for flashing a BenQ drive?

the problem is that when I open the tray half its way, it get closed automatically when I turn the 360 back on!

nfshp, IF your flashing your drive for the first time, you dont need to open tha drive half way or anything like that. make sure u got the 6421 card and u installed the port 32 installer that comes with jungle flasher. if ur upgrading firmware then yes u need to open the drive half way and continue..the ck3 kit helps with this.

The following drives (BenQs, Liteons, and Sammys) must be placed into vendor mode by leaving the drive halfway open. Im not going to take down your post because I want others to read some of the bad advice that floats around and can lead to others to bricking drives.

i think he misunderstood the tutorial, as it says in the jungelflasher original tutorial you don't need the half open trick to flash your stock firmware to Ixtreme 1.41(by clicking the unlock benq button). but you do need the try half open to flash to 1.61 .

i just downloaded jungle flasher 1.66 in the firmware folder of it it says add firmware here so i downloaded 1.6 ixtreme firmware extracted it and all i got was an iso file saying activate a ix16-benq file and a readme file do i just have to put this in the firmware folder or do i have to add something more. pls reply

Where did you get this file from? You should have gotten an ixtreme .bin file.

yeh there is a ix16-benq.bin file but thats the only file extracted along with the iso file and the readme file to put the bin file in the firmware folder only. thanks

I cant really help you with so little information. You need to do a little more research on your own to find out if your on board chip-set is compatible. The last thing you want to do is to brick your drive.

1.Yes you should save the key. Just encase you flash the drive wrong you can use that key to restore it.

2.Yes everything is the same except how you get it into mode b.

If you didnt know theres a new liteon drive on the market the 83850 and it doesnt flash like the normal liteon drives. You must use Jungle Flasher 1.66 and theres no probe needed.

Easy question, Jugle Flahser is the program that is windows based and is used to flash your drive and ixtreme is the firmware that is flashed to the drive to allow you to play burned games.
