  • It is Santa Maria sopra Minerva, near the Pantheon.

  • What is the church in the first picture

  • jesusjesusgoddevilgodgodsatanjesusdevilgodsatangodjesusjesuslucifer lu-ci-fer, the light bringer, he who said let their be light is none other the the goddevil all your religion is a lie like the lie of Light, the Luciferian and God-brought creator of all things, you fools, the only god is Light and it is neither benevolent nor evil. It simply is. Stop your arguing and cease your worship. You waste energy on abstractions and you waste lives on mindless ideology!

  • It seems that you guys know very well religious songs...Please watch the trailer of "Vampire Suck" and tell me please the name of the song at the beginning, for me it's similar to an Alleluja but I can't found this song anywhere...Help me please. Thank you!

  • @Jennyvaler It's a setting of the Agnus Dei, part of the Communion rite at Mass.

  • @jesusthroughmary Do you know where can I find it? Thank you

  • VERY beautiful!

  • Iam a christian orsothox but with all do respect , i dont know the difference between us and the catholic can some1 tell me , and godbless you all

  • very beautiful start

  • the most beautiful things were created by human to thank god... and the worst things werde done in his name...

  • This is so beautiful, that it seems to reach inside your soul and touch you within.

If anyone else here likes Chanticleer, then you should go onto iTunes and check out their amazing Christmas album.

  • The answer is simple; in the Catholic world view one's faith in all its aspects (including its music) are inseparable from one's daily life. The fact that this sacred music creates a discussion about the Faith only illustrates that this is true. "How can this be you may be asking?", you may be asking.

  • Well if there is no connection between Faith and all it aspects then we should not expect discussion to form, form its varied aspects, concerning the faith.

However a discussion has formed, form one of its varied aspects, concerning the faith.

Therefore, there is a connection between the faith and it's varied (including music)

... Now as for the quality of most of these discussions that's a reflection on the intellect of the people posting the comments.

  • WHY must YT be a religious forum? This is music, it's about the music.

  • @justmusicandme I agree in part...music itself is more spiritually beneficial than a hundred churches.

  • will they...?

is the mercy of our LORD not infinite...?

  • The mercy of our Lord is infinite but mankind made a deal with God remember?

Man said to God that he wanted free will.

    and God answered:

"Ok you may have free will, so long as you agree to be ultimately responsible for that free will"

The Lord God doesn't posses the capacity to show anything other than infinite mercy, because anything less would be inconsistent with Godhead.

Accordingly, in the final equation, when our life's deeds are presented before us, it is we who judge ourselves.

  • pathetic religious humanity haters should not comment on beautiful music posts...

read the New Testament, guys, I am not a christian, but there is a nice message there...

yes, the pope has helped spreading AIDS, the former and the latter ones, and us gays are not always parading naked for your information...

geez holy christ, how i wished the world would end and start anew...

  • this is sooo beautiful

  • I agree!

and as a foot note, you are the only person on this age who has made a comment that has anything to do with the video - all the others are religious debate comments in one form or another.

In fact, of the sixty comments made thus far, less than ten have anything to do with the video.

  • Wow. Just wow.

  • I think that most people who contract the HIV virus do so because of irresponsible behavior. To say that someone who isn't faithful to a church winds up with AIDS is not really a strong correlations let alone causation.

  • Oh the Catholic church contributed to AIDS? As if all the priest went around having sex with people and infect them. No the church says you should be faithful to your spouse. The people didn't listen and condoms are not a 100 % safe Promiscuous people have spread aids and you and I well know that.

Why you always blame something on others. There are plenty of Catholic treating Aids cases and they do it for free. Is it just too much to ask to remain faitful? People have done it unto themselves.

  • wow i think my mind is not ready for conversations such as this yet but i agree with the part that says the church has nothing to do with aids:)

  • The Catholic Church has done great works of charity for all the world to witness its mockers should be muted. As long as we pray and keep our Word to God we will achieve justice and piece through the love and compassion of Christ and of which the Roman Catholic Church is its radiation. God bless our Holy Mother and all followers world wide. Sancta Maria!

  • Great works like contributing to the spread of AIDS in Africa, since the missionaries there wouldn't allow them to use condoms? Or how about the crusades and inquisitions? Let's not forget those conquistadors! How about the witch trials and campaigns against race tolerance? And let's not forget homophobia! GO CATHOLIC CHURCH!

  • you two are just too ignorant to take the time to listen to this beautiful music and all you care about is making people angry about what they like; in this case, the beautiful voices of this talented group. you should be ashamed of yourselves.

  • it shows what kind of life you have that you must have been sitting at your computer all day to reply to my comment so quickly.

  • you all are giving me and the entire youtube community a huge headache!!

  • Ooooo those counter-tenors are singing with really bright italian vowels. Nice!

  • It's truly amazing isn't it?

  • One of the past members of this group was taught by my choral instructor, and he now gives lessons in my area.

This group is amazing. Every time I hear their music I get goose bumps!

  • bella

  • ..when maria magdalen came and put alabaster oil on Jesus foots...Judas sead "that oil could be sold and the money could be given too the poor".Jesus said"good deed she has done towards me".It is the same with the chatedrals.

    ps:sorry for my bad english

  • Does anybody but me find these cathedrals insulting? They're supposed to be houses of God, but it escapes me why God would ever need such grand monuments. The money used to build these cathedrals could have been used to feed the hungry, or clothe the needy. The materialistic ways of the Catholic faith disgust me.

  • I know what you mean, but there are two ways of looking at it...Churches are meant to inspire...everytime I go into one of these grand old churches I always feel this great sense of peace settling on me, something I could never get in modern churches. The Church was also meant to play a paternalistic figure to those who paid it tithes, so it would look after those who needed help...

  • if a believer comes in such a cathedral with that music playing on the background, be sure it will be a religious revelation to them.

  • In a sense they were. The Church provided the primary source of health care, education and employment for the community. Building the Cathedral provided a living wage for generations of craftsmen, and served as a hospital, school, orphanage, and whatever else it needed to be.

  • Like someone said below, Cathedrals were built this way, way back when to induce a sense of feeling small. Since religion is mostly about worshiping a supreme being, feeling small compared to that being usually helps. Such a structure like a Cathedral, which makes you feel small once you step inside accomplishes that.

  • This I find so typical: The Money used could've helped feed the hungry I heard that before. Are you so ignorant really? Many people actually got jobs to work to build the cathedral and at the same time the church also carried out mission of charity. How can you judge for people donating money to built it. They feel they have a great religion they want a great church too. So when was the last time you donated to the poor yourself. Get a life!

  • I love it!!! God bless

  • chanticleer is very good , although this one is littlbe bit too fast tempo i think

  • wonderful thankyou*****

  • This is why they are one of the number one singing groups in the world. If you ever get a chance to hear them in person. TAKE It!!!!!

I just saw them last weekend or so in charleston... My choir went and i can tell you. OMG they are so amazing in person. This recording hardly does them justice from them in person. 5/5!

  • OMG. U R SOOO RIGHT!!! i just saw them on sunday, and they were beyond AMAZING. amazing is degrading to them. thats how good they are. they gave me new hope of being a professional musician. i thought it was wierd for me to go that high, but when i heard the sopranos they had, i was like. AWESOME!!! So yeah if u get the chance, take it. U will have an AWESOME time. :P

  • Beautiful!

  • they sing well.... more than perfect. does anybody know, who are these men who compose this group?primarily, what's their nationality?

  • They are am American group led by Joseph Jennings, also their primary arranger. From time to time they have used 'Brits', particularly for the male alto, but USA has plenty of their own now in that genre.

  • I recommend you get "Magnificat" and "Sing We Christmas" by them. Excellent literature and can be listened to any time of the year.

  • Beautiful to see and beautiful to hear! Chanticleer is the creme-de-la creme of vocal ensembles!!!

  • You should check out Ave Maria by Frank Beibl, that song would match the beauty of any Vatican cathedral.

  • Thank you for your kind advise.

  • Biebl's Ave Maria is definitely one of the most beautiful I have ever heard. (It's Franz, though) Chanticleer does an amazing recording of this!

  • Yes, they. But this isn't it.

  • i must visit these cathedrals now... tyvm for uploading this vid tim

  • so beautiful

    so so so so beautiful

  • Tim,

This is awesome! I LOVE Italy and I LOVE being a Roman Catholic. Thank you SO much for sharing your pictures and for the beautiful Chanticleer version of Ave Maria.

  • Must admit that I prefers Shubert's. But I agtee with Jay below. The whole Vatican is an architectural marvel! The great cathedrals of Europe in general were/are architectural marvels. About the best we can do today is build ugly glass and steel rectangles! That's partly because the Almighty Buck has become God!

    cougarfanparkingonly:

I wish your sentiment were true. :(

  • Found myself - Ave Maria, Mater Dei by William Cornysh from "Magnificat"

  • Yes. William Cornysh (d. 1523).

  • Thank you. I already thought that it was medieval or renaissance.

I have a fondness of the middle ages and the renaisance so I would really like to thank you for uploading it.

  • Sorry . Dear Tim Hanson , God bless you for this post , but i meant - who is the author of the melody ?

  • Chanticleer

  • I meant "who's composer?"

  • Touches your soul and stops wars by the first note of this song.

  • Hello , who's the author?

  • Thank you. I am the author - Tim Hanson.

  • This is awesome!

    God bless, Fr. Amaro

  • if its old big and Catholic/Orthodox i love it

    CRDAD
