That claimed McLaren F2 doesn't really look like a compleate car at all. I strongly doubt that the designers would release that kind of an...unfinished system to markets. The few pics shown there indicate that if it's made by McLaren team, it's purely the first designs done, not the final car. Or well, if it is, the designers didnt do too well at all. It simply doesn't look like a supercar. Looks more like a car anyone could afford and get, not like a legend.
Just a thought but at 4:02 it looks alot like an audi concept car i remember? not sure though... and it looks alot like blurred Audi rings on the hood/bonnet. I think if you are going to make an McLaren F2 it would need to have 700 to 800 BHP to be even quicker than the old F1. I mean, what is the point of a new car that is slower that its older brother.
I would use a similar bmw v12 agian, but this time have vanos(valvetiming) on both the intake and exhaust camshafts, as the f1 only had it on it's intake camshafts so it could have still been faster. And if that aint enough than supercharge it.
if i made a f2 i would put the 8.4L v10 out of the new viper. put a good supercharger and a 3.5in racing exhaust on it and you could easily get 1000 HP. that much horse power in a low weight with the right gearing and you got a high speed super muscle car

It wont be a bmw motor because Mclaren is working for mercedes for a few years now. And the Formule 1 car from Mercedes is built and kept running by Mclaren. V10 motors are out. They going to use more V8 motors in future. Because they got the same power, especially supercharged, and uses less gas. you give McLaren 8400cc of engine to play with, and they will crank out way MORE than 1000 hp, STOCK.
besides, it's not all about power.
the F1 had about 630 hp, and it's only 15 MPH slower than the veyron.
and the veyron has a 400 HP difference.
all three are great cars though, but i highly doubt they will EVER use an American engine.

OMG y in the world would the f2 have a slr engine, first off a v-10 is not a very good engine designm its not balanced properly, thats y most use a v-12, an inline 6, v-12 is one of the most balanced engines made, look at the ferrari enzo, lamborghini lp640, or even the old f1! they need to just get an up to date version of the old chain drivin natarally aspired bmw engine from the m guys

if the f2 is real they better find a bigger engine cuz the mercedes mclaren slr sucks. i dont care what anyone says. the amg black would kick its ass. i dont care if they make it a v10 either. they should get a bmw v12 just like the old one and make 800+ hp. if they dont koenigsegg and bugatti will kick its ass.

if you search the web, you can find atleast 20 or more small tube frame, less than 1700lbs cars. and some alot better looking than this or the atom. and thats a good way to try and give alex some cred, that was funny.
i would say maybe, but it want have a benz engine, might be back with bmw, but not benz.
also search M eleven B, that might be clooser to the real thing. my vote is, that it has a v10 from the M6
