These two are excellent.

On the subject of Free Range, it's all a big con. The conditions for the chickens, even those that are legitimately sold under this category, are often dreadful.

They can still be kept in big, crowded sheds with very little room, filled with disgusting dust and fumes caused from living in such crowded conditions. The air is often thick with it & humans have to wear masks to tolerate it.

Not pleasurable for anyone, let alone the stressed, often ill chickens.

Free range isn't a "happy" thing at all.

Just as in the conventional system, all male chicken are killed right after hatching, because they don't lay eggs and the breed isn't good for meat production.

Hens still are bred to lay an egg almost every day, which is exhausting for them.

They still may be crammed together in thousands.

They are killed as soon as their laying performance decreases.

Don't buy into the free range/organic myth, go vegan.

So, no compromise can't be made? I like eggs, but battery farming is much more cruel than free range; so I'll but free range chickens. Free range is much more happy than battery farming. Frankly, it's your choice to be a vegan; but it's like a penis.

Why do you have to eat eggs? Honestly? Are you not vegetarian? "Free-range eggs" means not only that the hens will probably be killed after they are "spent," if they are treated with the least decency to begin with... and all the "useless" male chicks will be thrown into a garbage dump because male chicks don't lay eggs. They are not bred for growing unnaturally fat and fast for their flesh, so they aren't used for meat either - not that they should be.
